Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 735: Chapter 384: Oh No, I’m Surrounded by Eevee!

After bidding farewell to the three, Naoki finally returned to the ranch with a basket.

He took out some of the mushrooms, planning to make a delicious chicken stew with mushrooms for dinner, while the rest were to be dried and reserved for the snowy winter.

Additionally, Naoki shared the events he encountered in the back mountain with Calyrex.

Naoki: ”I met some human Trainers who admire you. All three specifically came to visit the Abundant Shrine.”

Upon hearing this, a smile appeared on Calyrex’s face.

Recalling the events of the past two years, even it felt filled with emotion.

Life now seems like a dream.

Humans who worship it, pursue its legend, and trust it, are continuously emerging on this land.

Who would have believed that a year ago, it was still enduring loneliness and sadness all alone in the Crown Tundra?

”I... I feel very happy.” said Calyrex.

Naoki eagerly commented: ”Speaking of, this year is the first time the Harvest Festival is being held here. I wonder how it will be.”

He attended last year’s festival and there were already many participants then. Now with Calyrex’s fame spreading throughout the Paldea Region, it’s uncertain how many will be drawn here.

It’s likely that the entire back mountain will be packed, with visitors crowded in front of the Abundant Shrine.

Calyrex nodded slightly: ”I am looking forward to it as well.”

This season, the weather is not as hot as summer, and Pokémon have left their air-conditioned rooms to play in the ranch.

After tidying up the mushrooms, Naoki stepped out of the house, planning to pick some scallions from the field to cook.

But as soon as he stepped outside, he saw a Squawkabilly Flying Taxi slowly flying over.

Hmm? Naoki was quite surprised.

Who is visiting the ranch now?

The Squawkabilly Flying Taxi landed on the grass, and then a blond man dressed in a brown coat jumped down from the vehicle.

His expression was serious, and he looked extremely meticulous.

Naoki was slightly taken aback, is this Hassel?

Hassel, one of the Elite Four in the Paldea Region, is the Dragon Elite, an expert in Dragon Type Pokémon, and the young master of a Dragon Tamer family, who also works as an art teacher at the Paldea Academy.

”Hello, Mr. Naoki, I’m Hassel, commissioned by the chairperson to bring you a gift.” the man spoke.

Naoki was puzzled, a gift? What kind of gift? Could it be that Geeta collected 1000 Palladian Gold Coins for him so quickly?

Confused internally, Naoki replied politely, ”Hello, Mr. Hassel.”

Then he saw Hassel unloading seven eggs with brown markings from the Flying Taxi.

Seeing this, Naoki felt utterly confused.

”...What are these?”

Hassel: ”These are gifts the chairperson commissioned me to deliver to you, they are Eevee Eggs.”

Wait! Eevee?

How did Geeta know he wanted to collect all the different types of Eevee?

Naoki’s brain was swiftly processing, quickly recalling that afternoon when he told Lono and Grusha about his plan to build an Eevee Paradise.

Geeta is too extravagant, isn’t she?

Feeling grateful for her help in collecting Paldean Gold Coins, Naoki was unexpectedly and suddenly gifted seven Eevee Eggs by her.

What is Geeta planning?

”The gift has been delivered, I still have matters at the Academy, so I won’t disturb you further.”

With that, Hassel prepared to leave on the Flying Taxi.

However, in the next second, his sharp eyes caught sight of many Dragonite and Dragonair in the ranch.

Hassel paused slightly, his eyes flickering.

Why are there so many Dragonites here? Hassel felt a little shocked, slightly lost in thought.

One, two, three... a total of nine.

As the young master of the Dragon Tamer family, their entire family had only five Dragonites!

And now, there are more Dragonites here than the entire family...

At that moment, Hassel couldn’t help but wonder who truly is the Dragon Tamer family.

Naoki didn’t notice Hassel’s reaction as his attention was on the Eevee Eggs. Now hearing Hassel’s intent to leave, he quickly and politely urged him to stay:

”Leaving already? How about staying for a cup of tea?”

Hassel snapped back to reality, it was getting late and he had classes tomorrow.

”No need, I must return to the Academy as soon as possible, so I won’t disturb you.” Hassel replied.

Knowing Hassel was a teacher at the Paldea Academy, Naoki didn’t insist, just offered a ”thank you for your efforts.”

Hassel departed the ranch on the Flying Taxi.

Leaving Naoki alone to stare at the pile of Eevee Eggs on the grass.

”Aii?!”

Coming out from the room, his sister Indeedee, who planned to clean ingredients at the Pokemon Tavern, was startled by the sudden appearance of so many eggs in the ranch.

Its growl attracted a large group of Pokémon.

Alcremie, Pawmot, Dragonite, Dragonair, Umbreon, and Glaceon gathered around, surprised at the eggs.

”Uh... these eggs were brought over by that gentleman for me to take care of.” explained Naoki, ”The Pokémon inside are all Eevee.”

Upon hearing this, the Pokémon had varying reactions.

Alcremie and Pawmot looked dumbfounded, one egg equating to an Eevee, they suddenly felt surrounded by Eevee staring at the pile of eggs.

Dragonair, on the other hand, felt curious about these unhatched eggs.

They flew up, circled the eggs, occasionally sniffing them with their big noses, listening for sounds inside the eggs.

Glaceon appeared shocked, unable to believe what was happening.

What’s going on... Why are there so many Eevee?

Doesn’t this mean seven more Eevee will come and share Naoki’s affection?

At that moment, Glaceon felt the sky collapse, the world turned dark.

Beside it, Umbreon didn’t think too much, its ears twitched, and it quietly stepped forward to observe the eggs of its kin.

”Alright, let’s get these Eevee Eggs inside now!” Naoki waved his hand, as the Pokémon began to hustle.

Everyone together moved the eggs back into the house, placing them on the bed in the second-floor incubation room.

Looking at so many Eevee Eggs, Naoki felt overwhelmed.

While happy about collecting enough Eevee, he was worried about caring for so many at once!

Naoki almost foresaw the scene where the seven newly hatched Eevee clung to him, wanting milk, wanting cuddles.

Is he about to become an Eevee caretaker?

No, he must find Pokémon to help care for them!

Naoki turned to look at Glaceon and Umbreon, who followed him inside, speaking seriously:

”From now on, you two will be the leaders of these Eevee, Glaceon you’re the big sister, Umbreon you’re the second sister, and you’ll be responsible for helping me take care of them!”

”Bui?!”
