Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 545: Chapter 312: A More and More Professional Expedition Team!

”Ding!”

Accompanied by a crisp sound, the oven stopped working.

Naoki, wearing oven mitts, took out the freshly baked honey bread and Poffins, placed them in a picnic basket, and carried it outside to find the three members of the Heroic Expedition Team.

The three of them were busy murmuring about something next to the ice cellar of Glaceon.

As Naoki approached, he immediately saw the secret base that had been punched and damaged by Koraidon earlier.

Evidently, Mew had discovered that its secret base was damaged, but wasn’t sure who ruined it, which made it saddened.

Seeing this, Naoki awkwardly explained,

”There was a toy inside that kept making noises. Glaceon thought this place was haunted, so they asked Koraidon and me to come and check it out.”

”The sound was coming from the mountain inside, and we didn’t know what it was. Sorry, Mew, but don’t be sad, there are lots of places on the ranch where you can build a secret base!”

Upon hearing this, Mew finally understood what had happened.

It wasn’t too upset, just a little puzzled and troubled by not knowing what had happened.

Besides, this secret base was only temporary. Once the World Tree grows, it plans to move the base onto the tree!

Now that everything was clear, Mew didn’t care too much and felt a bit embarrassed when Naoki apologized.

”Miu~”

After everything was explained, the aroma wafting from the picnic basket quickly attracted the attention of the Pokemon.

Naoki smiled and said to them, ”Let’s talk on the grass!”

”Yima!”

”Miu!”

Members of the Heroic Expedition Team followed along. Naoki spread the picnic cloth on the grass and took out food and drinks from the basket.

Seeing the scene, Alcremie, Pawmot, and Koraidon also gathered around.

Thus, Naoki, with a group of Pokemon, started a picnic on the grass.

Teddiursa and Mew happily began to eat.

Zapdos lowered its head to look at the food in front of it, then imitated the others by poking a fragrant Poffin with its beak.

Naoki was pleased to see them eating happily.

Nothing is more delightful than having Pokemon enjoy the treats he made.

”When are you planning to set off tomorrow?” Naoki began discussing the serious matters.

Teddiursa thought carefully for a while before responding, ”Yima!”

Observing its expression, Naoki asked, ”Same as last time, in the morning?”

Teddiursa nodded affirmatively.

Naoki continued, ”So do you plan to invite the Pokemon friends you make to come live on the ranch with everyone?”

This time, before Teddiursa could speak, Mew eagerly nodded, ”Miu!” Of course!

With this, there would be no worry about not seeing each other again after parting!

”I see...”

Naoki expressed his thoughts and concerns to Mew and Teddiursa,

”For flying Pokemon like Zapdos, it’s fine since they can fly to the ranch themselves. But what if you make friends with large Pokemon like Snorlax or Aggron while you’re out? How would you invite them to the ranch?”

Upon hearing this, Mew and Teddiursa immediately put down their Poffins.

They pondered for a moment, realizing this concern after Naoki mentioned it.

”Yima...”

Exactly, what if they made friends with overly large Pokemon?

During their travels, they had indeed encountered such Pokemon.

For instance, the massive and iron-hard Rhyhorn.

Or the gigantic Onix made entirely of rock.

Neither would be able to cross the vast ocean to reach the ranch.

And it would be impossible for flying Pokemon to carry them across.

Due to their size, they would undoubtedly crush the flying Pokemon.

Thinking of this, Mew and Teddiursa became quite troubled, unable to enjoy the delicious snacks, appearing rather distressed.

Beside them, Zapdos also stopped and turned to its two friends, joining them in thought.

”Chirp!” it offered to help.

But Mew glanced at Zapdos’s back, comparing the sizes of Onix and Zapdos in its mind, then shook its head, ”Miu...”

No, Onix would crush Zapdos.

Seeing this, Zapdos was left without a solution, too.

The Pokemon pondered for quite a while but couldn’t come up with a good idea, ultimately casting hopeful looks towards Naoki.

”Yima!” Teddiursa gazed expectantly.

Naoki is so capable, surely he would have a way to solve this problem?

Naoki, sitting cross-legged on the grass, patted Teddiursa’s little head and said, ”Indeed, I do have a way.”

”Miu?” Mew’s eyes lit up.

Zapdos also looked over with interest.

”Do you remember how humans can carry so many Pokemon with them?” Naoki asked.

Upon hearing this, Teddiursa, having been in a Poke Ball before, immediately recalled the answer.
