Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 514: Chapter 296: The Slugma-Powered Home

Naoki organized his thoughts in his mind, glanced at the curious Pokemon in front of him, and explained to them:

”Because children will eventually have their own lives, they will meet their own Pokemon partners, just like you left your parents and met me, and we live together.”

The Pokemon listened with a mixture of understanding and confusion.

Only Koraidon lay calmly beside Naoki’s leg, because it held a secret only it knew.

After Naoki’s explanation, Pawmot began to miss its mom and dad.

Unlike Glaceon and the others, it didn’t leave its parents voluntarily; it was brought here by a Pokemon called Bombirdier.

It wondered if they would be worried about it after it left...

Seeing Pawmot suddenly becoming downcast, Naoki immediately guessed what was on its mind.

”Let me think of a solution...”

Bombirdier, this type of Pokemon, mainly inhabits the mountainous regions in the southwest of the Paldea Region.

They use breast fluff and fallen feathers to make pouches, then fly down to pick up stones, branches, and other things to toss around for fun.

Thinking of this, Naoki returned to his room and took out a map of the Paldea Region from his desk.

He laid the map on the table, and a group of Pokemon immediately gathered around.

Naoki found the location of the ranch on the map, then located a nearby mountain range where Bombirdier could be found and connected it to the ranch with a line, forming a straight path.

Plus, Bombirdiers usually don’t stray far from their nest when gathering items.

”So... it’s likely around this area.”

Naoki circled the expanse of wilderness south of Porto Marinada Town with a pen.

However, he couldn’t be sure, so after pondering for a moment, Naoki asked, ”Pawmot, do you remember what the place you used to live in looked like?”

Pawmot carefully recalled and then answered, ”Pawmo!” (It was in a forest with many trees, and there was one very large tree!)

Beyond that, it couldn’t remember anything else.

A forest area?

There are many places that fit that description!

Naoki found himself in a bit of a dilemma.

It would be great if Mewtwo were here now.

Mewtwo’s abilities allow it to examine human and Pokemon memories, and it might find more information from deep within Pawmot’s memories.

Unfortunately, Mewtwo had left before...

What if he asked the Pokemon visiting the Pokemon Tavern for a drink for help?

Lately, more and more Pokemon guests were being drawn to the tavern.

This included some wild Pokemon.

Like Squawkabilly, who had migrated from elsewhere, stopped by upon hearing about the tavern’s reputation from other Pokemon, and then continued its journey.

Thinking of this, Naoki decided to post a missing person notice at the tavern, asking these passing wild Pokemon to help and see if they could meet the pair of Pawmot parents who had lost their child during their travels.

So, Naoki immediately told Indeedee about this case and asked that it be conveyed to everyone at the tavern the next day.

Sister Indeedee readily agreed.

With a gentle and kind heart, it looked at Pawmot and softly comforted, ”Indee~” (Don’t worry, I’ll ask everyone to help~)

”Pawmo...” Pawmot was deeply moved, ”Pawmo!” (Thank you!)

Sister Indeedee smiled gently.

The next evening, the Pokemon Tavern was open for business as usual.

Sister Indeedee seized the opportunity to verbally convey the ”missing person notice” to the group of Pokemon guests at the tavern, asking them to let them know if there were any discoveries.

Naoki didn’t go over, but he still learned the follow-up from Sister Indeedee.

All the Pokemon guests agreed and said they would keep an eye out.

In this way, the missing person notice for Pawmot’s parents was effectively posted.

What they needed to do next was patiently wait for a response.

However, during the waiting period, an interesting thing happened.

That morning, while Naoki was weeding the fields, Mrs. Dantes, who lived in the town and ordered a bottle of fresh sheep milk from the ranch every day, came to find him.

Seeing her, Naoki was a bit surprised, ”Mrs. Dantes? Is something the matter?”

At the moment, the kindly elderly woman’s face showed a trace of a smile, ”Naoki, has the quality of the sheep milk you’ve been selling us improved recently? I see the Porto Marinada Market is also selling a kind of Life Sheep Milk... I wonder if they’re sourcing it from you.”

”That is indeed the case.” Naoki nodded.

Because Mrs. Dantes was his longtime customer and had helped him a lot before, he continued to sell her the sheep milk at the original price.

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Dantes hesitated and asked, ”Is there any regular quality sheep milk left at the ranch?”

Naoki was a little taken aback, detecting a hint of something unusual in Mrs. Dantes’ tone, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Has something happened?”

Mrs. Dantes exclaimed in surprise, ”Ever since we drank the sheep milk delivered by Dragonite that day, my husband’s been bouncing off the walls, and it’s like he has boundless energy! He’s even had multiple nosebleeds every day!”

”We went to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctor said it was caused by excessive nutrition. I thought we hadn’t had any supplements lately! Then I realized it was the sheep milk.”

Naoki was flabbergasted, ”Is that really the case?”

Usually, he drank Miltank’s milk and had only tasted Life Sheep Milk once. The taste of sheep milk could be an acquired one, while MooMoo Milk’s flavor was more universally appealing.

Mrs. Dantes nodded, ”That’s why I’m asking if there’s any regular sheep milk left at the ranch, as that sheep milk is just too potent!”

”There’s no regular sheep milk left.” Naoki shook his head, unless he captured a few more Skiddo and fed them with milk quality enhancing dishes.

After thinking for a bit, Naoki asked, ”Would you like to try some fresh milk produced by Miltank?”

The Miltank on his ranch had also consumed milk quality improving dishes in the past, so the MooMoo Milk they produced was also of high quality.

Hearing this, Mrs. Dantes nodded, ”Then let’s switch to cow milk!”

”Alright.” Naoki smiled and replaced the sheep milk with cow milk.

Mrs. Dantes couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. She handed a paper bag to Naoki, showing a warm smile, and said:

”These are cookies I baked, give them a try!”

”Thank you very much.” Naoki did not refuse, politely reaching out to accept the cookies, then bid farewell to Mrs. Dantes, watching her turn and leave the ranch.

Naoki thought this would be just an isolated case, but over the next few days, he began receiving calls from other milk-subscribing customers.

They all reported that the sheep milk was too nourishing, causing nosebleeds, sleepless nights, and even a noticeable weight gain after drinking it.

Not wanting to turn into big fat people, they all decided to switch from sheep milk to MooMoo Milk.

Naoki was at a loss for words, and after the call, he took a bottle of sheep milk from the fridge, wondering to himself if it could really be that exaggerated.

With this thought in mind, Naoki drank it down.

Immediately, he felt a surge of strength welling up from deep within his body.

The fatigue from working in the fields vanished, and he felt full of energy, as if he had an endless reserve of strength.

This feeling made him want to spin in circles like a Pokemon evolving!

Strength... was pouring out continuously!

”It’s really exaggerated!”

Naoki was taken aback.

The next second, two streams of warmth flowed out from his nostrils.

Naoki touched with his hand and found it covered in fresh blood.

Oh no! He had a nosebleed!

Brother Indeedee was startled upon seeing this, quickly grabbed some tissues to help Naoki stop the bleeding.

”Thank you!” Naoki took the tissues, hurriedly wiping away the blood.

”Indee...” Brother Indeedee was very worried.

After a while, the bleeding finally stopped.

But Naoki still felt full of strength throughout his body, unable to stay idle at all.

So under the concerned gaze of Brother Indeedee, he rushed out of the room, picked up an axe, and started chopping firewood with vigor.
