Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 520: Chapter 300: Cat and Dog

”Miraidon!”

Professor Turo called out.

Upon hearing the voice, the Miraidon that was originally floating above the mountain cliff abruptly turned its head and looked in this direction from afar.

Its face showed no expression, appearing cold and mechanical.

It floated there, merely turning its head without taking any action.

”It seems to have a ’stranger beware’ vibe!” Naoki said.

Professor Turo chuckled, ”That’s just how Miraidon is. Although it doesn’t usually express its emotions like Koraidon, its emotional richness is actually no less than Koraidon’s.”

”Kind of like a cool, aloof cat?” Naoki murmured.

It’s the kind that’s usually cold and unapproachable, but once close, occasionally snuggles up to you and acts cute.

While Koraidon is the typical enthusiastic golden retriever.

Professor Turo thought Naoki was referring to Pokemon like Purugly or Glameow.

He hadn’t thought of this before, but Naoki’s words suddenly made Professor Turo feel the description was so fitting.

”Exactly, Miraidon is like that. But compared to cat-like Pokemon, Miraidon is more mysterious, and its emotional changes are extremely subtle, making it impossible for me to decipher.” He nodded.

This reminded Naoki of his own Glaceon.

However, after spending a lot of time with Alcremie and Pawmo, Glaceon’s nature gradually became more lively.

”Let’s go! I’ll take you closer for a look!” Professor Turo suggested.

Upon hearing this, Naoki still felt a bit uneasy.

Because this Miraidon clearly wasn’t the one from the game, its nature likely wouldn’t be as approachable.

But Professor Turo had already walked some distance, and Naoki could only hurry to keep up.

The two of them followed the mountain path to the cliff, Miraidon turned around, watching as their distance grew closer.

To these humans’ presence, Miraidon seemed to have already adapted.

Its gaze first fell on Professor Turo, then its lifeless eyes shifted subtly, silently transferring its focus to the unfamiliar human beside Professor Turo.

Instantly, Miraidon’s demeanor became dangerous.

Because it sensed a completely different, hazardous energy from this human!

Miraidon narrowed its eyes slightly, staying alert but still floating calmly, keeping its gaze fixed on the unfamiliar human, observing his movements.

”It’s watching me... Professor.” Naoki also noticed Miraidon’s gaze.

Professor Turo: ”Don’t worry, it’s just a bit cautious because it’s seeing you for the first time.”

With that, Professor Turo looked up at Miraidon, greeting it:

”Hello, Miraidon, are you getting used to life here? This is my friend Naoki, he’s a very skilled trainer.”

Miraidon did not respond.

Seeing this, Naoki also greeted, cooperating with Professor Turo: ”Hello, Miraidon! Nice to meet you!”

As if recognizing the unthreatening nature of these humans, Miraidon’s tense demeanor gradually relaxed.

—Weak humans pose no threat to it and won’t compete for territory.

After some observation, Miraidon concluded and slightly opened its mouth:

”Meow... Mew.”

Upon hearing this soft and cute sound, Naoki’s eyes widened immediately.

Did he... did he hear it wrong?

Is this Miraidon’s growl?

So cute!

Noticing Naoki’s expression, Professor Turo felt very pleased, ”See? Compared to Koraidon from ancient times, Miraidon living in the future actually has more charm, right?”

Naoki: ”...”

This question... he couldn’t answer!

Both Koraidon and Miraidon have their own adorable aspects.

”It’s a pity!” Professor Turo sighed, ”Sada always argues with me over this, I think future Pokemon have more charm but she prefers ancient wild Pokemon. Sometimes she even sends me to sleep in the study because of this!”

Naoki was taken aback, was this something he should hear?

Professor Turo laughed, at present Miraidon seemed to have accepted Naoki’s presence.

Just as he intended to take the next step, allowing Miraidon to spend more time with Naoki, a roar suddenly rang out from the entrance of this Eco Garden.

”Aga-Tzzz!”

Naoki and Turo turned their heads and saw Professor Sada arriving with Koraidon and Flutter Mane.

Professor Sada looked helpless, ”This kid heard Naoki was missing and insisted on coming to find him, I simply couldn’t stop it.”

Koraidon stared intently at Miraidon, and in the next moment, its wings expanded abruptly and it stamped the ground hard, using the momentum to fly towards Naoki.

Miraidon was also drawn to the Koraidon it had never seen before.

It turned around to stare at it, though its expression remained calm, the sudden emergence of electricity from its body indicated Miraidon’s inner alertness.

It felt a powerful threat and had entered a state ready for battle at any moment!

”Calm down! Miraidon! It’s not an enemy!” Professor Turo immediately tried to soothe Miraidon’s emotions.

Koraidon landed in front of Naoki, shielding him behind, its golden eyes fixed on Miraidon, issuing a warning growl: ”Grr-Awoo!”

It was because of Miraidon that it fell into the Time Machine, forced to separate from Naoki for so many years!

Towards such deceitful Pokemon, Koraidon felt no goodwill.

Was Koraidon going to fight Miraidon? Naoki’s heart tightened, he hurriedly shouted, ”Koraidon!”

However, the next moment, Miraidon had already floated to a higher position.

It was choosing a favorable battle location!

Seeing this, Koraidon no longer hesitated, its instincts honed in ancient times erupted furiously, charging fiercely towards Miraidon.

In an instant, Miraidon released a terrifying burst of electricity, the sparks enveloped the entire Eco Garden.

The dense electricity surged towards Koraidon, but Koraidon’s eyes locked on Miraidon, it almost rudely ignored Miraidon’s electricity and directly reached Miraidon’s side, punching it hard.

Struck heavily, Miraidon’s electricity faltered momentarily, its body was knocked into the valley, creating a large crater on the ground.

However, Miraidon did not lose its fighting ability.

It flew out fiercely from the scattered dust, its originally blue eyes turned crimson, a powerful current surged from within.

Miraidon’s gaze locked onto the Koraidon in front, changing its form while trying to pierce its opponent with dazzling electricity.

Facing such a terrifying attack, Koraidon seemed undeterred, it began charging towards Miraidon.

As they got close, Koraidon suddenly extended its claws, in Professor Sada and Professor Turo’s shocked gaze, it ignored Miraidon’s electricity, grabbed Miraidon, interrupting its attack!

Then, it punched Miraidon’s head, knocking it roughly back.

In those short tens of seconds, too many things happened, neither Naoki nor Professor Turo had time to stop them.

At this moment, looking at the downed Miraidon, Professor Sada couldn’t help but widen her eyes, ”How is this possible?!”

Naoki was also shocked by this scene.

This Koraidon of his... is it really this strong?

Below, Miraidon seemed to realize it couldn’t defeat this Koraidon.

It showed fear, curling its body, instinctively retreating and hiding as Koraidon approached step by step.

Observing this, Naoki hurriedly shouted while running towards Koraidon, ”Koraidon! Stop!”

Meanwhile, Professor Turo ran towards Miraidon, clutching a Poke Ball, promptly returning Miraidon inside.
