Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 527: Chapter 304: Grassy Terrain Enhanced Again! The Invincible Gogoat Healing Build! (5k)

”Bamomo?”

”Aga-sii?”

Flutter Mane’s stomach made a rumbling noise, it looked down and then wanted to drag Naoki out for a hunt together.

Naoki was puzzled by Flutter Mane’s actions, but upon hearing its stomach rumbling, immediately understood: ”Hungry?”

”Moe?”

Naoki flipped out of bed, led Flutter Mane to the living room, and took out a sandwich and a Berry from the fridge, along with a bottle of Berry Milk, placing them in front of Flutter Mane.

Since Flutter Mane was sleeping during dinner, Naoki hadn’t woken it up, but instead left food for it to eat once it woke up.

Flutter Mane looked at the food on the table that it had never seen before, first sniffing it, then its eyes lit up as it picked up the sandwich with its wing claw and began devouring it.

Naoki watched with a smile: ”Go ahead and eat!”

After finally waiting for Flutter Mane to finish eating, Naoki thought about going back to his room for more sleep.

However, Flutter Mane remained full of energy.

Seeing that Naoki seemed not to plan to go out hunting, it flew around the room on its own, curiously observing everything around.

During this time, it accidentally knocked things over, creating noises that woke up several Pokemons.

Koraidon: ”Aga-sii...”

Naoki: ”...”

No way! Tomorrow morning he must start staying up with this Flutter Mane, to get its schedule aligned with theirs!

So when it came to early next morning, facing a drowsy Flutter Mane wanting to return to the Poke Ball to sleep, Naoki with dark circles proposed a plan to help it become stronger.

Due to the lack of language gap between Paradox Pokemon and modern humans, Flutter Mane quickly understood what he meant.

It instantly lost all sleepiness, looking over with anticipation.

Naoki: ”To become strong, first you need to change your combat approach.”

Combat approach? What is a combat approach? Flutter Mane didn’t understand.

Naoki continued: ”However, before formally starting, I need to know the skills you currently master, come on! Show me!”

Koraidon added beside: ”Aga-sii!” (The moves you use in battle!)

Flutter Mane understood at once, then began demonstrating.

Naoki watched from the side, jotting down on the Pokemon Observation Notes about Flutter Mane, recording all its mastered moves.

[Name: Flutter Mane (Misdreavus’ Paradox Species)

Type: Ghost, Fairy

Temper: Not as ferocious as imagined, but still retains wildness of ancient Pokemon species, is completely ignorant of modern things, eats raw meat like a beast, slightly combative (?)]

Hobby: Yet to be discovered

Favorite food: Grilled steak, Berry, Sandwich

Mastered moves: Confuse Ray, Astonish, Psybeam, Mean Look, Helping Hand, Parting Shot, Wish, Dazzling Gleam, Power Gem, Shadow Ball, Phantom Force, Mystical Fire, Psyshock]

Not until Flutter Mane finished its demonstration did Naoki stop recording.

”Huh? This Flutter Mane has quite a lot of moves?” Seeing the content on the notes, Naoki was a bit surprised.

Moreover, the moves Flutter Mane currently mastered have a wide coverage.

Ghost Type, Psychic Type, Fairy Type, Fire Type, and Rock Type.

Besides these, there’s Confuse Ray with confusion effect, Wish that can restore health, Parting Shot that can greatly lower the opponent’s attack and special attack, and the Helping Hand that can strengthen a teammate.

Picturing Flutter Mane skillfully using Helping Hand on Koraidon just now, Naoki suddenly became interested.

Could it be that these two good friends were actually engaging in double battles in ancient times?

He turned to Koraidon and asked: ”Did you guys used to hunt together?”

”Aga-sii!” Koraidon nodded its big head.

”Did Flutter Mane also use Helping Hand on you?” Naoki was greatly astonished.

Koraidon nodded again.

”Wow!” Naoki let out an exclamation.

If so, given Koraidon’s power, plus Flutter Mane’s type coverage, wouldn’t these two Pokemons have been invincible in ancient times?

If... just if, Flutter Mane and Koraidon teamed up for ancient double battle trials in the pasture, would anyone pass?

He’d heard Geeta mention before, in the sister school of Paldea Academy established by the Unova League on the sea, Blueberry Academy, which specializes in double battles.

Where a Trainer commands two Pokemons simultaneously, engaging in 2v2 battles.

But in that scenario, no one would probably pass.

”Thinking too much is useless, now the most important thing is to teach Flutter Mane about Type Matchups and how to utilize its advantages in battles.”

After a brief ponder, Naoki spoke to Flutter Mane in plain and straightforward language:

”From my observation, your advantages lie in speed and special attack, relatively speaking, your stamina is somewhat lacking, so you mustn’t engage in direct close combat with the opponent.”

”Moe?” Flutter Mane listened with its mouth open, looking confused.

Naoki: ”...It means you mustn’t, like yesterday, use your body to tackle Pawmot, in battles, under any circumstance, maintain distance from your opponent.”

Flutter Mane understood now.

Seeing this, Naoki continued: ”So, learn to use your advantage, try using Phantom Force.”
