Reborn As Super Heiress

No one expected that Huo Sining would make such a decision, not even Zhou Shitao and Xu Shilong had gotten the news in advance, so after Huo Sining spoke, everyone was stunned.

But soon, the room was in an uproar.

As people came to their senses, they first marveled at Huo Sining’s boldness and courage, and then those who had recovered were the first to raise their hands and bid.

”I bid eight million!” Xu Shilong preempted the others, directly quoting a price.

He is into jewelry and jade, encountering such a top-grade Tianhuang Stone, especially since this Tianhuang Stone was used by Lu You, he certainly couldn’t miss it, directly increasing the price by two million — a conventional tactic aimed at initially intimidating those who are hesitant or financially constrained.

Xu Shilong’s tactic did work; several people who intended to bid were frightened by his two million increase and immediately drew a cold breath, no longer saying a word, all thinking Xu Shilong was determined to get this piece.

However, Xu Shilong’s strategy only scared off those who were financially tight. Most people at the event were from the antique circle; the remainder were business tycoons. Those who could afford to collect were generally not short of money; they only feared not finding good items, and now Huo Sining was willing to let this Tianhuang Stone go, so those who had the capability wouldn’t miss such a great opportunity.

”Eight and a half million!”

Just as everyone was bewildered, another person opened their mouth to bid.

”Even old Wu had his eye on it.” People started discussing, the bidder was named Wu Deyue, who ran an antique shop named Deyue Residence in Panjiayuan, specializing in literary artifacts.

The Golden Rhinoceros Paperweight happened to fall within the scope of literary artifacts, so it wasn’t surprising that Wu Deyue would be interested.

After all, for an antique shop to do well, it certainly needs some good items. The Golden Rhinoceros Paperweight is both a top-grade Tianhuang and has historical research value, anywhere it ends up it would be considered the treasure of the store.

Seeing Wu Deyue bid, Xu Shilong secretly felt bad, as Wu Deyue had only an antique shop and wasn’t especially wealthy, but he had a son who ran a listed company in the Imperial Capital with considerable wealth. If Wu Deyue truly wanted the Golden Rhinoceros Paperweight, even Xu Shilong might not be able to compete with him.

Nevertheless, Xu Shilong was not going to give up easily on such a great item, so after a slight turn of the eyes and some thought, he reported another price: ”Nine million.”

Nine million, although not absurdly high, was close to the market price for the Tianhuang Stone Paperweight.

However, it was clear that Wu Deyue wasn’t planning to give up either; he glanced at Xu Shilong briefly before calmly and decisively increasing the bid significantly: ten million!

No one expected Wu Deyue to suddenly soar to such a price; the audience was immediately in an uproar.

Huo Sining finally lifted her head and looked carefully at Wu Deyue who made the bid.

This man wore a dark blue coat, his hair seemed somewhat gray, yet his posture was steady and expression resolute, evidently holding a winning assurance for the Tianhuang Stone.

Xu Shilong felt a bit troubled, hesitating whether to continue competing, while Wu Deyue wasn’t anxious at all, waiting for Xu Shilong to decide, pulling out his phone seemingly making a call to someone.

Witnessing this, Liang Ruicheng was almost consumed by jealousy, glaring red-eyed at the palm-sized Tianhuang Stone Paperweight on stage, his heart twisted beyond measure.

He had also seen the Tianhuang Stone himself; its radiant translucence was indeed beautiful, but never did he expect anyone to bid a ten million price, surpassing even his previous Bronze Pot’s value at such an auction, for such pieces to fetch so high a bid, were Xu Shilong and Wu Deyue both mad?

Xu Shilong was also hesitant; unsure of how high Wu Deyue could bid and feeling ten million was the limit for the Tianhuang Stone, yet as a jewelry lover, his heart longed for it, so he tentatively added another twenty thousand after gauging Wu Deyue.

”Ten million two hundred thousand!”

As Xu Shilong shouted his bid, the auction venue’s door suddenly quietly opened, and a person rushed in from outside hurriedly looking around, quickly walking towards Wu Deyue.

”Dad, what’s so urgent you had to call me here?”

The newcomer was none other than Wu Deyue’s son; he had driven Wu Deyue to the charity auction exchange, staying at a nearby hotel preparing for a company meeting when he received a call from Wu Deyue, thinking something was wrong, rushing up via the elevator.

At such a heated moment of bidding, Wu Deyue couldn’t spare much explanation to his son, only saying there was a Tianhuang Stone Paperweight on stage, and he wanted to buy it for the store’s treasure.

Upon hearing his father’s words, Wu Deyue’s son quickly understood, nodding before directly shouting: ”Fifteen million!”

When Wu Deyue’s son made his bid, the room went silent, no one speaking anymore, even Xu Shilong drew a sharp breath.

Wu Deyue was dumbfounded; he wanted to bid, yes, but hadn’t thought of adding so much money in one go — it was too exaggerated.

It was his son though, with an arrogant demeanor, scanning the room with a look that challenged everyone, causing those few veterans to frown slightly.

Wu Deyue felt awkward, but since his son bid for him, he couldn’t criticize openly.

On the other side, Xu Shilong was also somewhat uncomfortable, fifteen million — they were clearly not leaving room for him; with a five million increase, who would dare speak?

Huo Sining however, didn’t think much, as these funds were intended for donation; she indeed wished for the price to go higher. So, seeing Wu Deyue’s son call out fifteen million and no one else speaking, she quietly asked Xu Shilong: ”Mr. Xu, won’t you bid again?”

Huo Sining’s original intention was to ask if Xu Shilong would continue bidding; if not, she planned to finalize it directly.

Her words, however, fell onto Wu Deyue’s son’s ear as another meaning, causing Wu Deyue’s son to frown coldly at Huo Sining, muttering: ”Hmph, insatiable!”
