Reborn As Super Heiress

This nap, it seems, was never meant to be. Huo Sining had just fallen asleep in Gu Xu’s arms when the phone started ringing anxiously again. Huo Sining, woken up, grabbed her phone and answered, slightly annoyed.

”Who is it?”

The person on the other end paused and then chuckled, ”Miss Huo, happy New Year, sorry to bother you. I’m the CEO of Longquan Industrial. Here’s the thing, our company’s product spokesperson for this year is still vacant. We’d like to invite you to be our brand ambassador. Rest assured, we won’t shortchange you on the price.”

Huo Sining was stunned: ”You must have the wrong number, right?”

The person on the other end was taken aback for a moment, then cautiously asked, ”Aren’t you Miss Huo Sining?”

”I am.” Huo Sining replied.

The person on the other end breathed a sigh of relief: ”Then I didn’t dial the wrong number; I’m indeed looking for you. I wonder if you’re interested.”

Huo Sining was a bit baffled: ”But I’ve never been a brand ambassador, nor do I know how. Whose number did you get? You must be mistaken.”

With that, Huo Sining hung up the phone, shook her head, and muttered, ”Really baffling, what does Longquan Industrial do, asking me to be a brand ambassador? Are they out of their minds?”

As soon as she finished speaking, the phone rang again. Seeing an unfamiliar number, Huo Sining hesitated before deciding to answer it.

”Miss Huo Sining, happy New Year, sorry to bother you on the first day of the year. I’d like to introduce myself, I’m the brand promotion manager of Youguan Dairy. Here’s the thing, this year we want to promote a new product, and we’d like to discuss a collaboration for endorsement with you. I wonder if your schedule is still free. Our company’s audience base is broad, if you’re willing, we’d like to invite you to discuss this year’s endorsement project with us.”

Huo Sining felt a bit flustered. It was one thing for Longquan Industrial to approach her, but now another company, Youguan Dairy, was coming to her as well. This felt odd. A single instance might be a mistake, but multiple, consecutive inquiries seemed too much of a coincidence.

Her mind couldn’t wrap around this — these people definitely weren’t out of their minds. There could only be one possibility: something unfamiliar must be happening outside.

After hanging up the call from Youguan Dairy, Huo Sining couldn’t wait to get out of bed. She turned on her computer and browsed to a news site. Sure enough, upon entering the site, right at the top of the entertainment section, there it was: a big, bold headline.

— CCTV Spring Festival Gala wraps up perfectly, Miss Magic perhaps the biggest winner.

Instinctively, Huo Sining clicked into the article. It dissected last night’s gala, soon focusing on Huo Sining’s two performances and the online buzz she sparked, analyzing the trending discussions on social media. Additionally, several statistical data were presented to prove the article’s point.

From last night until the early hours of today, in various search engines, keywords related to Miss Magic Huo Sining surpassed two hundred million searches. On social media’s trending topics, Huo Sining occupied six out of the top ten. In one night, Miss Magic’s Baidu forum shot up into the top 100, and her official social media followers rose by four million.

These figures were enough to prove one thing: this year’s Spring Festival Gala has made Miss Magic Huo Sining a household name overnight, her value skyrocketing. She’s very likely becoming this year’s biggest winner, with the author speculating that it won’t be long before she becomes a highly sought-after figure for brand endorsements, with fees potentially matching those of top celebrities.

Upon seeing this news, Huo Sining was left somewhat speechless. So, this was why she was getting calls about product endorsements early in the morning.

Yet, when had she ever expressed an interest in accepting endorsement deals? After all, she was worth over a billion, did she really need to endorse products for money?

After reading this unreliable news, Huo Sining couldn’t help but chuckle. She closed the webpage and, thinking it over, visited several other portal sites. Indeed, it wasn’t just this site; her news was prominently displayed on the headlines elsewhere as well.

— The most popular show of the Spring Festival Gala revealed, Miss Magic dominates the top two spots.

— An in-depth look at Miss Magic’s fortunes, showcasing what true wealth looks like.

— Exclusive revelation: Miss Magic might be a third-generation military heiress, with a formidable backing.

— Last-minute replacement at the Spring Festival Gala, Miss Magic’s worth soars tenfold overnight.

These stories were plastered prominently on various websites, all concocted by reporters spinning tales out of thin air, leaving Huo Sining both amused and at a loss.

She was engrossed in reading these reporters’ nonsensical writes when her phone started ringing again. Seeing it was another unfamiliar number, she felt a bit exasperated.

Once she answered, however, it wasn’t another brand endorsement proposal but a call from an executive director from Starlight Agency, the one representing Wu Jingyi who had to cancel her performance unexpectedly before the gala.

”Miss Huo, although our Starlight Agency isn’t the strongest in the country, we’re definitely willing to invest resources in cultivating talent. We have extensive connections and hold agency rights for many stars across China, Hong Kong, and Korea. We’ve successfully collaborated with over 200 celebrities from these regions.”

”If you plan to engage in celebrity endorsements or performance activities going forward, you’ll certainly need an agent. If you sign with us, we’ll offer you the most flexible contract terms and provide you with the best gold-grade agent, a personal assistant, and a security detail. We’ll also tailor-make the most efficient and quick plan for your debut, with prioritized resources allocation...”

The person on the other end continued to paint a rosy picture for Huo Sining, from a magician to the domestic television screen to the international movie screen, stopping just short of promising her a Hollywood Best Actress award. However, Huo Sining listened with a furrowed brow.

It wasn’t that Huo Sining was acting pretentious, but this person was boasting too much. Huo Sining found it tedious to listen to. Although she performed in two acts at the Spring Festival Gala, she indeed never planned on entering the entertainment industry, nor did she ever think about acting. What Starlight Agency promised held no appeal for her.
