Reborn As Super Heiress

Liang Ruicheng also did not expect that his words would have such a big flaw. Now, pointed out sarcastically by Huo Sining, he suddenly felt somewhat embarrassed, his face turning red, yet he closed his mouth tightly and did not speak again, obviously not intending to provide further explanation.

Seeing this, Zhou Shitao knew what was going on in his heart, exchanged a glance with Huo Sining, then changed his tone and said:

”This Bronze Pot has been appraised, everyone, let’s return to our seats. Young Liang, although this Bronze Pot is a forgery, the craftsmanship of the forgery is indeed superb. Not to speak of others, even I have truly gained insight, taken a lesson with my young disciple. So you needn’t take it too much to heart. The antique industry is like that: live and learn. No one dares to say they’ve never misjudged because none of us are gods.”

Zhou Shitao’s words were surely comforting. Liang Ruicheng was clever enough to understand that Zhou Shitao was providing him an exit from the situation.

Though Liang Ruicheng’s emotions churned within and he resented Huo Sining enough to grit his teeth, he couldn’t act out in front of so many people. He could only nod, forcing a smile and saying: ”Thank you, Mr. Zhou, I’ve learned!”

Saying this, Liang Ruicheng was about to put those Bronze Pot fragments back into the box.

Just then, Zhou Shitao suddenly spoke again, saying: ”Mr. Liang, would you part with these Bronze fragments? To be frank, I am very interested in the forgery craftsmanship of this Bronze Pot and consider acquiring it. If Mr. Liang isn’t too attached, perhaps you might sell me these fragments.”

Liang Ruicheng was stunned upon hearing these words, looking up at Zhou Shitao, wanting to see if Zhou Shitao was joking.

After all, this Bronze Pot had been confirmed as a forgery, a modern piece, and what’s more, it was a pair of smashed fragments. Such an item, to a normal person, wouldn’t be wanted.

Liang Ruicheng thought Zhou Shitao’s words were just mere pleasantries, but as he looked up, he found Zhou Shitao’s face was solemn and sincere, clearly meaning it seriously.

Feeling a stirring in his heart, Liang Ruicheng thought of the question Zhou Shitao had just asked him.

Why would Zhou Shitao regard this fake Bronze Pot so highly? Could there be something else hidden in it that he didn’t know?

The more Liang Ruicheng thought, the more he found it likely, unable to resist looking up at Zhou Shitao, and slowly speaking:

”Mr. Zhou, I’m honored that you appreciate it, but I’m sorry, this Bronze Pot was the first item I ever misjudged. The forgery techniques used in creating it are unparalleled, and when I initially bought it, thinking I’d stumbled upon a treasure, I didn’t take a closer look, and ended up spending a fortune. This lesson taught me that the antique business is deeply profound.”

”Therefore, I hope to restore this Bronze Pot and display it at home, constantly reminding myself not to let temptation cloud my judgment, and to think thrice before purchasing antiques henceforth, allowing this Bronze Pot to be the last item I ever misjudge.”

Liang Ruicheng’s excuse was indeed well articulated, acknowledging his mistake while not discrediting his treasure appraisal skills. Furthermore, saying he’d place the Pot at home to remind himself resonated with many in the audience. Everyone in this circle has encountered misjudgments, often keeping such items at home to reflect now and then. Liang Ruicheng’s decision was certainly sensible.

Initially, many in the audience ridiculed Liang Ruicheng for losing face, but now they couldn’t help but regard him with more respect and sympathy.

His statement garnered much favor for Liang Ruicheng, restoring a good deal of his image. Although Huo Sining’s impression of him was at rock bottom, upon hearing those words, she had to admit, his speaking was indeed skillful.

Liang Ruicheng didn’t want to sell the Bronze Pot to Zhou Shitao but managed to find such a reason, leaving Zhou Shitao unable to insist.

Zhou Shitao wanted these Bronze Pot fragments as clues, but ultimately they were Liang Ruicheng’s, and Zhou Shitao had no right to dictate what happens to them. Since Liang Ruicheng wouldn’t sell them, Zhou Shitao was left helpless and had to abandon the idea.

After a short break, the exchange meeting continued. After the Bronze Pot appraisal incident, everyone’s enthusiasm not only didn’t wane but increased, especially since Zhou Shitao joined in. Everyone hoped to receive Zhou Shitao’s opinions. Several business magnates stepped on stage, presenting their treasures for Zhou Shitao’s appraisal.

Zhou Shitao also gave due respect to these people, stepping on stage, examining carefully, and providing fair critiques and advice.

And following Huo Sining’s bold appraisal of the Bronze Pot, many in the venue were deeply impressed by her. As the exchanges continued, they surprisingly found that this young girl, taken under Zhou Shitao as a closed-door disciple, was bold and meticulous, with sharp and incisive insight, not swayed by others, speaking her unique perspective.

This discovery surprised many, making it impossible to view this young girl simply as an industry newcomer, as her fundamentals in appraisal were very solid. Her understanding of some professional issues was almost on par with professors like Shi Qingyun and Zhuang Xiangyang; the more one interacted, the more amazed they became.

Seeing Huo Sining so quickly integrate into this circle, handling various issues with ease, seeming completely in her element, Liang Ruicheng, originally silenced and sitting quietly aside due to the Bronze Pot fiasco, seemed to have countless venomous insects gnawing at his heart. After half an hour of mental effort, he finally couldn’t contain himself, suddenly stood up, and loudly asked:

”As waves of the Yangtze River rise, Miss Huo’s vision in antique appraisal is indeed exceptional. With this in mind, I imagine not only I but everyone is curious. What kind of treasure did Miss Huo bring today? How about we all take a look?”

The words caused the room to fall silent immediately, everyone looking at Huo Sining with curiosity. After the exchange meeting’s discussions, it was true that they harbored great curiosity and expectation toward Zhou Shitao’s young disciple, wanting to see what treasure the young lady, who had won Zhou Shitao’s favor, brought this time.
