Reborn As Super Heiress

Furthermore, Huo Sining was well aware that Starshine Company approached her for a contract, seemingly valuing her endorsement potential, but at a deeper level, it was likely related to Han Wen’s previous threats to blacklist Starshine’s artists.

Huo Sining’s suspicions were spot on. Wu Jingyi’s agent reported Huo Sining’s matter to Starshine’s higher-ups immediately after returning to the company. This news shocked everyone inside Starshine, prompting someone to think of a brilliant idea to solve their current predicament.

If Huo Sining really is a goddaughter of the Lu Family, then it’s no surprise Han Wen values her so much; knowing this, anyone would try to curry favor.

The Starshine executives started plotting, thinking that if they signed Huo Sining, she would become a Starshine artist. No matter how tough Han Wen is, she wouldn’t be able to oppose Huo Sining, who now would be part of Starshine. Since Han Wen wants to please Huo Sining, she might even invite her to the next Spring Festival Gala, thus breaking the so-called blacklist order.

Starshine’s plan seemed perfect; they had analyzed Han Wen’s intentions and their company’s situation thoroughly, but they failed to consider one thing: Huo Sining’s thoughts and stance.

Huo Sining wasn’t a fool. How could she easily let Starshine use her as a shield against Han Wen? Despite Han Wen’s strong ambition, she had been genuinely good to Huo Sining, and having established a good relationship, she wouldn’t stab Han Wen in the back.

Moreover, considering Huo Sining’s current status and position, if she wanted to enter the entertainment industry, there were plenty of companies to choose from; why compromise and join an agency that was blacklisted?

Huo Sining never had much fondness for Starshine. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together; the fact that this company could promote people like An Rong and Wu Jingyi proved the company had its fair share of dirty dealings. Not to mention, Huo Sining had no intention of joining any entertainment company. Even if she did, it wouldn’t be Starshine.

So, Huo Sining didn’t beat around the bush and rejected the invitation from the so-called director of Starlight Agency with a clear and cold voice, straightforwardly stating that she had no intention of joining any agency.

The director wanted to argue further, but Huo Sining was in no mood to waste words with such a person, simply saying she had other matters to attend to, and decisively hung up the phone.

”How did it go?” Everyone at Starshine’s higher-ups was waiting for the result.

Having hit a wall with Huo Sining, the director’s face naturally didn’t look good. Seeing everyone looking at him expectantly, he was somewhat embarrassed and said in a solemn tone, ”This Huo Sining said she has no plans to join any entertainment company. I think she’s just evading.”

Another executive frowned upon hearing this and couldn’t help but ask, ”Was it this woman who did the thing with An Rong and Ada or not?”

”Regardless, this woman is not someone we can afford to offend. If it’s really found out to be her, what can you do about it?” the director raised his head, asking sarcastically.

”That’s not what I mean. I want to know why Ada is so sure it was Huo Sining who did it. There must be a reason, right? If Ada is so confident, then what’s this woman’s motive for doing it? Did Ada offend Huo Sining in some way, causing her to retaliate?”

Hearing this executive’s analysis, the other directors shot him puzzled looks, pondering for a moment before looking at him in confusion, ”What’s your point?”

”Whoever started the issue should be the one to resolve it. I think the reason Huo Sining is evasive is probably because Ada or An Rong offended her at some point, causing her to direct her anger at our company. Since it was Ada and An Rong who offended her, this shouldn’t be blamed on us. So, my suggestion is to have them find a time to apologize to Huo Sining and clear up this misunderstanding. Perhaps then Miss Huo would relent.”

This executive was not entirely sure of himself, but his suggestion made a few directors brighten up and quickly settle on this plan.

Huo Sining had no idea how persistent Starshine would be. After hanging up on them, she received several more calls from brand companies urging her to endorse them. Feeling somewhat annoyed, her phone rang again. Assuming it was yet another company seeking an endorsement, she answered without even looking:

”This is Huo Sining. Sorry, I’m not planning to endorse for any company at the moment. Please find someone else—”

”Haha.” The person on the other end of the call laughed upon hearing Huo Sining’s exasperated response, ”Wow, becoming a big star sure is different. You’re quite in demand.”

Huo Sining was stunned to hear the familiar voice and, after checking the phone number, couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Sister Yishan, it’s you. I thought it was another brand company. Happy New Year!”

”Happy New Year,” Bai Yishan replied with a chuckle before teasing, ”You’ve really become an overnight sensation, huh? Your performance at last night’s Spring Festival Gala was quite something. I got all excited and curious watching it. There are a lot of online posts dissecting your magic trick. By the way, the news says your value skyrocketed overnight.”

Mentioning this, Huo Sining found it both funny and frustrating, ”You had to bring that up. Because of those news reports, I haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep, answering God knows how many endorsement calls. I really don’t know where people keep getting my number.”

Over there, Bai Yishan couldn’t help but laugh, ”Don’t say that. I’ve been getting a lot of calls myself this morning, from companies who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. They probably know that Jade Beauty is co-owned by you and me, so they all came asking me for your contact details. I have to say, the lengths these people will go to are impressive!”

Huo Sining felt a bit anxious hearing this, ”What? Is that true? You didn’t give them my number, did you?”

Just thinking about all the potential spam calls gave Huo Sining a headache.

Bai Yishan could guess what Huo Sining was thinking. Seeing her so anxious, she laughed, ”Do you think I’m that indiscreet? How could I give away a private number like that so easily? Don’t worry, I turned them all away. But I suspect these people won’t give up so easily; they’ll probably find other ways to get your contact info. For the time being, I don’t think you’ll have much peace.”

Huo Sining felt her scalp tingle at the thought, ”Oh, no. I really have no interest in that. Endorsing for my own company’s products might not be so bad, but you want me to endorse other people’s products? No thank you. I’m not doing that.”
