Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining wanted to play coy, but Jiang Xiaoqin kept pestering her, leaving Huo Sining no choice but to say, ”I’ve already come up with a strategy, but none of you noticed it. That con artist and the person behind the scheme haven’t realized it either.”

”Huh?” As soon as Huo Sining spoke, Jiang Xiaoqin and Li Quan were dumbfounded, exchanging glances with expressions of confusion.

They stared at each other for several seconds before Jiang Xiaoqin asked, ”What strategy? Why don’t we know?”

”If I let you know, the con artist might figure it out, so I didn’t say anything.” Huo Sining chuckled, took out the signed and stamped guarantee letter, and laughed, ”Well, the strategy is actually this guarantee letter. You can take a look at it yourselves.”

Jiang Xiaoqin, quick-witted, was the first to grab the guarantee letter. She had seen the original version Huo Sining printed out before, but after scanning through it, she still couldn’t find anything unusual.

Bewildered, Jiang Xiaoqin handed the guarantee letter to Li Quan. Being somewhat older than Jiang Xiaoqin, Li Quan was more meticulous. Although he didn’t notice anything odd after quickly glancing at the letter, once he read through it word for word, he spotted the issue.

”Haha, so that’s it! Now, even if the con artist comes to settle scores, we won’t be scared. It’s written in black and white, leaving him no room for denial!”

Having understood the trick in the guarantee letter, Li Quan’s previously furrowed brow finally relaxed. His worries disappeared, replaced by a sense of satisfaction and relief.

”What’s going on? You guys understood, but you’re not telling me. Are you teasing me on purpose?” Seeing that only she was left out, Jiang Xiaoqin became anxious and pouted unhappily.

Huo Sining smiled slightly, and with a flick of her hand, a printed A4 guarantee letter appeared in her palm, though this one was unsigned and blank. She handed it to Jiang Xiaoqin, saying, ”Compare these two guarantee letters and see what’s different.”

Following instructions, Jiang Xiaoqin took the guarantee letter from Huo Sining and quickly noticed the differences between the two.

”I found it, I found it! The signed guarantee letter has two more printed words compared to the blank one.”

After noticing the difference, Jiang Xiaoqin couldn’t help but shout. When she finished shouting, she realized something was off.

Jiang Xiaoqin, being a clever and quick-witted girl, quickly grasped the key point upon noticing the difference between the two letters. Her eyes lit up as she looked at Huo Sining with admiration and surprise:

”Sister Ningning, I understand now. This blank guarantee letter was the one you initially showed to that con artist, right? Later, you intentionally handed him your ID card and accidentally dropped it on the ground. Taking advantage of the moment when the con artist bent down to pick up the ID card, you swapped the two guarantee letters, didn’t you?”

Huo Sining’s eyes twinkled with amusement, but she pretended not to understand, looking at Jiang Xiaoqin seriously: ”What swapped guarantee letter? This is the first letter I showed him, alright? It’s his own fault for not reading it carefully, not mine.”

Jiang Xiaoqin firmly believed in her conjecture and couldn’t help but give Huo Sining a thumbs-up for her trick.

Li Quan, still puzzled, said, ”But I remember you printed only two identical guarantee letters at that time. Not to mention the con artist, I was there with Xiao Qin. We didn’t bend over to pick up anything. How did you swap them without us noticing?”

Beside him, Jiang Xiaoqin couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Li Quan: ”Brother Li, Sister Ning Ning is a magician who could perform at the Spring Festival Gala. She can miraculously transform a person and turn a live fish into a steaming full fish feast on a plate. Swapping a guarantee letter is nothing for her. Do you think with Sister Ning Ning’s skills, she can’t do even that? She could perform flawlessly at the Spring Festival Gala, so in this store, she certainly won’t let you catch a hint!”

Jiang Xiaoqin’s explanation left Li Quan with no grounds to argue. It dawned on him that the girl in front of him was not only his boss but also rumored as the most promising young female magician in Huaxia Country. With Huo Sining’s expertise in magic, swapping a contract was undoubtedly within her capabilities.

Huo Sining initially wanted to come up with an excuse, but now that Jiang Xiaoqin spoke for her, she didn’t have to rack her brains for an explanation. So she simply laughed and said:

”The moment he walked in, he acted strangely. I probed for a while and felt something was off. Thus, when he asked me to write the guarantee, I became cautious and prepared two different guarantee letters during printing.”

”It’s just two additional words. Without careful examination, it isn’t easy to spot. According to my idea, if this person isn’t a con artist, signing the guarantee is neither here nor there. But if he is, we can’t let them find any evidence, so we did a little trick on the guarantee letter.”

Huo Sining laughed and said, ”I went to track that con artist with this notion in mind. If what he said was true, there was no harm. But the result was obvious; the plotter came for me specifically.”

Li Quan was incredulous: ”You followed him, and the con artist didn’t show the contract to the person behind it?”

Huo Sining shook her head: ”He did, but that person didn’t look at it, probably overconfident, believing he had it won.”

Li Quan couldn’t help but click his tongue: ”This person is fierce. Such a big heart, it’s rare. But to deal with someone like this, we have to use such methods. Since he resorted to tricks, we can’t go head-to-head. You can’t reason with such a person, so it’s all about seeing who’s more skilled!”

Huo Sining shrugged with a smile, ”Anyway, the ten thousand yuan deposit has already been paid, and the con artist has signed the guarantee letter. It’s in black and white here, leaving no room for denial. Even if they bring in many experts tomorrow, I’ll say this: they can either accept defeat and automatically forfeit the ten thousand yuan deposit, or they pay two million quietly to buy this painting. With the guarantee letter, we’re justified everywhere we go!”
