Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 431: Chapter 427: The Liang Family’s Plan

The day after the kinship recognition banquet, as Chief Lu had said, people from the Huang Family began to visit in succession.

The visitors initially claimed to be visiting or seeing Huang Chengyi as a pretext, but soon, their conversation turned to probing and inquiring about Huo Sining’s medical skills.

Because of the concerns about the Lu Family, these people’s attitude was quite humble, but Huo Sining kindly declined each one.

She wasn’t foolish; everyone wanted her to treat them, but where would she find all that time from the United States to do so? Besides, she was not a full-time physician; treating ailments wasn’t her responsibility.

It is not scarcity that troubles people, but inequality. By not agreeing, she would not offend anyone. However, once she started treating someone, it would lead to an unstoppable chain reaction, with more and more people following suit. Moreover, she wouldn’t be able to refuse without offending someone.

The disappointed visitors left one by one, and considering Huo Sining’s extraordinary current status, they did not dare to insist.

In contrast to the bustling activity at the Huang Family’s, the atmosphere at the Liang Family’s was eerie and quiet.

The events that took place during the kinship recognition banquet were relayed to An Hongmei by Liu Manshu, including the unfortunate incident where Liang Junqi was caught red-handed with evidence of her wrongdoing.

Liu Manshu was no saint and didn’t harbor that much affection for her niece, Liang Junqi. One million was not a small sum for her, so she wasn’t generous enough to cover the costs for Liang Junqi and not ask for compensation. She, of course, intended to reclaim that money from An Hongmei.

An Hongmei did want to dodge repaying the money, but she knew Liu Manshu’s temperament too well. She didn’t dare provoke her because if she angered Liu Manshu, who knew the entire story, she might expose Liang Junqi’s actions. That would certainly ruin Liang Junqi’s reputation.

Liang Junqi was nearing adulthood and the age for marriage. If she tarnished her reputation, marrying into a good family would become difficult. An Hongmei understood the severity of the situation, so as soon as Liu Manshu asked for the money, without a word, An Hongmei transferred the one million to her.

Liang Ruicheng and his father, along with Old Madam Liang, did not dwell much on the matter of the one million. Their focus was on Zhou Shitao and Chief Lu going out of their way to appear at the previous day’s kinship recognition banquet. One took Huo Sining as a disciple, and the other acknowledged her as a goddaughter.

”This is too strange. What kind of sorcery did this girl employ that made the Zhou Family and the Lu Family do such irrational things?”

Liang Ruicheng found it baffling and could not comprehend why the Zhou Family and the Lu Family would act this way.

”What does it matter if it’s irrational? The acknowledgment is made, and that girl is now backed by the Zhou Family and the Lu Family. Her status has risen, and she’s beyond our influence. The Huang Family has indeed landed a huge advantage this time!”

Jealousy and regret flashed in Old Madam Liang’s eyes, yet she secretly felt fortunate. Thankfully, Huang Chengxiang had already passed away, unable to enjoy the glory and wealth her granddaughter brought her. Otherwise, that despicable woman would have outshone her, standing equal with Chief Lu and giving her no choice but to look up to her.

However, Liang Jinhong considered his interests. Previously, he was worried that Huo Sining’s involvement with the Liang Family might divide the family’s wealth.

Now, seeing Huo Sining tied to both the Zhou Family and the Lu Family, and with the Gu Family backing her, her network of relationships evidently surpassed both the Liang Family and the An family. Liang Jinhong immediately began to harbor other intentions.

”Grandmother, though the bones may break, the sinews still connect; although Huo Sining has entered the Huang Family Ancestral Hall, she still carries half of our Liang blood. If the Huangs can acknowledge her, why can’t we?” Liang Jinhong asked with a smile.

Old Madam Liang and Liang Ruicheng were startled by his words, exchanging glances, not quite grasping Liang Jinhong’s intention, ”What do you mean by that...”

A calculating gleam flashed in Liang Jinhong’s eyes, ”After the New Year, we have several bids that are related to the Song and Gu families. There is a piece of land in the west of the city that is in the hands of the Gu family. If we can bring Huo Sining back to the Liang Clan, we could connect with the Gu Family line, and since the Lu Family is allied with the Zhou Family by marriage, they will likely give the Liang Clan some consideration.”

Old Madam Liang and Liang Ruicheng immediately realized what he meant. In recent years, the Liang Family had been trying to establish connections with the Gu, Song, Qin, and Ouyang families without finding a proper opportunity, let alone making a connection with the Lu Family.

Now that Huo Sining had not only become Chief Lu’s granddaughter, but was also the future bride recognized by the Gu Family, if they could claim this child as their own, Huo Sining would become a central pivot in the communications between the Liang Family and the Lu and Gu families.

With Huo Sining’s identity, the Liang Family’s business would undoubtedly receive care from the Lu and Gu families in the future, which would bring a significant boost to their affairs—a decidedly beneficial development for the Liang Family.

Old Madam Liang and Liang Ruicheng found the more they thought about it, the more feasible the strategy seemed, their eyes alight with excitement.

Previously, Old Madam Liang had been worried that Huo Sining would come to the Liang Family in pursuit of their wealth, but now she couldn’t wait for Huo Sining to become entangled with them, so they could use her to secure greater opportunities for growth.

The Liang Family was full of schemes, but they also needed Huo Sining’s cooperation to succeed.

Currently, aside from Liang Pengzhi, no one in the Liang Family had a direct relationship with Huo Sining.

Moreover, if it hadn’t been for Old Madam Liang and Liang Ruicheng, Huang Chengxiang and Liang Ruining would not have been forced to leave the Liang household to fend for themselves.

Although Huo Sining had not witnessed these events herself, she could imagine how difficult life must have been for her grandmother and father after they left the Liang household.

Even if she did not harbor hatred for the Liang Family’s cold-blooded ruthlessness, there was no way she would repay their cruelty with kindness, simply forgiving and forgetting their past transgressions.

However, the Liang Family People were completely unaware of this issue, assuming presumptuously that Huo Sining, a young girl, certainly had no firm opinions of her own, and that they could easily deceive her with a few words and sway her. As long as Huo Sining nodded in agreement to recognize her relationship with the Liang Family, everything else would be easy to handle.

Liang Jinhong’s plan received unanimous support from the entire Liang Family, and even after he shared his thoughts with Liang Pengzhi, Liang Pengzhi also strongly endorsed it.

Of course, what they both said aloud was ”Huo Sining carries the blood of the Liang Family and should be brought back to our fold,” that kind of nonsense, but what they truly thought in their hearts, only they knew.

Liang Jinhong did not know that Liang Pengzhi had an unspeakable secret; he assumed that his grandfather still harbored lingering affection for Liang Ruining and his mother, so he couldn’t help but be secretly vigilant.

His suggestion to acknowledge Huo Sining was solely intended to use the power of the great families behind her for the benefit of the Liang Clan; he did not wish to invite trouble by bringing a wolf into the house, ending up with a loss instead of a gain.
