Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 428: Chapter 424 Rescue

Heitan was very obedient; he understood almost everything Huo Sining said.

Before coming to Chun Jing Garden, Huo Sining had warned Heitan not to hurt anyone, so Heitan was very well-behaved. Even when Huang Xiaoyi brought a bunch of brats to tease him in the backyard, Heitan didn’t get angry or aggressive. Instead, he played monkey tricks with the children, doing whatever Huang Xiaoyi asked him to do.

As soon as Liang Junqi entered the backyard, Heitan detected the presence of a stranger, but because of Huo Sining’s previous warning, Heitan did not act out and obediently lay on the grass, ignoring her.

It wasn’t until Liang Junqi pounced toward him that Heitan only prepared to dodge, without any intention of attacking or biting. Even though he knew Liang Junqi harbored ill intentions, he also knew that someone of her fighting ability could not hurt him.

However, when he saw that Liang Junqi had fallen onto his feces, his carefully hidden evidence was accidentally discovered, and Heitan immediately became unsettled.

An outraged Heitan was quite terrifying; he opened his large mouth and let out a low growl, pouncing directly onto Liang Junqi. His claws sank into Liang Junqi’s arm as he let out a low roar from his throat, his eyes filled with a ferocious glare.

Liang Junqi was stunned by this sudden turn of events, and by the time she reacted, she was lying on her back on the grass, with the Tibetan Mastiff already on top of her. The dog’s face was so close that she could see each whisker clearly. As the Tibetan Mastiff opened its mouth, a putrid smell assaulted her senses.

Liang Junqi’s whole body stiffened in fear, and she lay on the ground too terrified to move. The syringe filled with the drug she had intended to use for her plot had been thrown somewhere in the scuffle. She looked at the beast above her, her face turning pale with fright, and she began to cry out loud, her tears and snot flowing freely.

After eating for about ten more minutes, some guests in the banquet hall had finished their meal and were ready to leave. Liu Manshu was feeling conflicted and didn’t wish to stay any longer, but when she turned her head, she realized that Liang Junqi was missing.

Only then did Liu Manshu remember that Liang Junqi had gone to the restroom.

But she had been away for quite a long time; why hadn’t she come out yet?

Seeing the guests preparing to leave one after another, Liu Manshu became restless, stood up, and asked a waiter to accompany her to the restroom to look for someone.

Not finding Liang Junqi after a full search of the restroom, Liu Manshu couldn’t help but feel puzzled. Had Liang Junqi left early? But why hadn’t she at least said goodbye?

A flicker of displeasure crossed Liu Manshu’s eyes, but she still took out her phone and dialed Liang Junqi’s number to confirm.

The call went through, but no one answered.

Liu Manshu thought Liang Junqi had already left and was about to grab her bag and leave, but as she passed the corridor, she heard a faint cry for help coming from not far away.

Being sensitive to Liang Junqi’s voice, Liu Manshu immediately recognized who was crying out, her face turned pale, and she hurried towards the direction from which the sound came.

Upon reaching the backyard and pushing open the door, the sight that met Liu Manshu left her completely startled.

When Liang Junqi heard footsteps, she noticed someone standing at the door out of the corner of her eye and, seeing them as a savior, she shouted for help: ”Auntie, help me!”

Liu Manshu panicked, ready to approach and chase the dog away, but Liang Junqi suddenly became frantic: ”Don’t... that’s a Tibetan Mastiff, it’s very fierce, don’t go near it... go call Huo Sining, the Mastiff is hers; only she can save me!”

Upon hearing this, Liu Manshu snapped back to her senses and hurriedly ran towards the banquet hall, rushing over to Huo Sining’s table and pulling Huo Sining towards the backyard.

Huo Sining was in the middle of eating when someone suddenly came charging over and pulled her, catching her off guard and almost making her stumble due to Liu Manshu’s tug.

”What are you doing?!”

Huo Sining raised his head in displeasure and asked.

Liu Manshu, however, couldn’t care less at this point, her speech was so faltered, ”Quick... save someone, the Tibetan Mastiff is biting...”

Liu Manshu’s halting words left everyone confused, but Huo Sining’s face turned pale as soon as he heard ”the Tibetan Mastiff is biting,” and he stood up abruptly and ran toward the backyard.

The few people at the table realized something was wrong at once. Everyone from the Huang Family knew Huo Sining had a Tibetan Mastiff. Seeing him running towards the backyard, they all reacted.

Huang Chengyi quickly signaled to Huang Jialin, who, without alarming the other guests in the banquet hall, followed Huo Sining to the backyard with several others.

Upon seeing the situation in the backyard, everyone was instantly horrified.

A Tibetan Mastiff was pinned on top of a little girl, its powerful paws firmly clamped on her arm, its eyes were round and filled with a cold green light, fixated on the girl beneath, as if it was about to bite her face at any moment.

”Heitan! What are you doing? Let go of her now!”

Seeing this scene, Huo Sining’s heart skipped a beat. Thinking Heitan was disobeying orders and randomly attacking a person, he couldn’t help but scold urgently.

Startled by Huo Sining’s reprimanding tone, Heitan quickly turned its head.

It tilted its head, a look of confusion in its eyes, but seeing Huo Sining’s angry face, it shrank back a bit, its eyes welling up with grievance, and a whining sound came from its throat, as if pleading its case to Huo Sining.

Yet, its paws were stubbornly not moving off the girl.

Huo Sining hesitated, as Heitan was always obedient, and had never defied his orders like this. What was happening today?

Liang Junqi, who was pinned under Heitan, was so terrified she nearly wet herself. Now, seeing Huo Sining arrive, she immediately felt relieved and couldn’t help but curse loudly,

”Huo Sining, that dog of yours had better be removed quickly, or don’t blame me for being rude!”

Hearing the girl’s unpleasant tone, Huo Sining frowned.

But, seeing the girl’s bedraggled state, he realized Heitan was indeed the one at fault initially. He couldn’t hold it against her, so he quickly rushed forward, pulled Heitan away, and rescued the girl from the ground.

Having escaped from the jaws of the Tibetan Mastiff and reached a safe place, the girl’s tense face relaxed, and suddenly her expression changed. She yelled furiously at Huo Sining,

”This beast bit someone for no reason at all, what kind of owner are you?! How dare it bite me, this can’t just be let go!”

Once back by Huo Sining’s side, Heitan instantly withdrew its previous malice and ferocity, and snuggled obediently against Huo Sining’s legs, rubbing against his calves.

At that moment, upon hearing Liang Junqi blatantly twisting the truth, Heitan became angry and started barking furiously at Liang Junqi.

Liang Junqi, startled by Heitan’s barks, and still shaken by the life-threatening moment just passed, swiftly retreated, hiding behind Liu Manshu.
