Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 410: Chapter 406: The Reaction of the Liang Family

Counting the four children from the third uncle’s family, there were ten siblings in Huo Sining’s father Liang Ruining’s generation alone, and it was even more in Huo Sining’s.

Luckily, Huo Sining had prepared many jade finished products in advance, so she didn’t end up in the awkward situation of gifting some and neglecting others. Her generosity and humility quickly gained her the acceptance of the third uncle’s branch.

As Huang Chengxiang had divorced Liang Pengzhi and set up her own household years earlier, the Huang Family, to legitimize their youngest sister, specially held a ceremony in the ancestral hall and created a separate branch for Huang Chengxiang in the Huang family genealogy.

Liang Ruining only had Huo Sining, a posthumous daughter. Even though Huo Sining was a girl, she was the only continuation of her branch, so the Huang brothers unanimously agreed to recognize Huo Sining’s ancestry and add her into the Huang family genealogy.

The Huang Family was bustling with preparations for Huo Sining’s ceremony to recognize her ancestors and enter the ancestral hall. Meanwhile, the Liang Family naturally heard the news.

Huang Chengyi being paralyzed and wheelchair-bound was not a secret in the Imperial Capital, but the sudden cure of his decades-long leg disability was news that spread quickly, reaching the Liang Family, who had long been at odds with the Huangs, and surprising them greatly.

But as the Liang had broken ties with the Huangs years ago, it was impossible for the Liang Family People to personally visit and verify the situation.

However, this didn’t prevent them from inquiring about the matter through others. At first, everyone thought it was just a rumor, but when even An Hongmei’s relatives confirmed the news, the Liang Family People had to believe it.

”Really cured? Who treated him, which doctor in the Imperial Capital has such incredible medical skills, and how come no one has ever heard of them?”

Old Madam Liang was somewhat skeptical and couldn’t help but voice her doubt.

An Hongmei hesitated for a moment before speaking hesitantly, ”It’s said to be Huang Chengyi’s grandniece who cured him.”

Old Madam Liang was stunned, ”Grandniece? Since when did Huang Chengyi have a grandniece? Don’t the Huangs only have the daughter Huang Chengxiang? Where did this grandniece come from?”

An Hongmei replied, ”They say the girl is Liang Ruining’s child, but because she was born posthumously, she was fostered with her uncle’s family until she was found by the Huang Family People half a year ago.”

Old Madam Liang’s widened eyes couldn’t conceal her shock, ”Liang Ruining’s child?! Hasn’t Liang Ruining been dead for nearly twenty years? He left a child behind?”

An Hongmei nodded and cautiously glanced at her husband, who was expressionless beside her, before she presented an invitation, ”On the twenty-fourth of the twelfth lunar month, the Huangs will recognize their ancestors and initiate the child into the family genealogy. On the twenty-fifth, they will also hold a familial recognition banquet, inviting many prestigious families to legitimize the child. This is the invitation our An family received.”

Before Old Madam Liang could react, Liang Ruicheng, who was beside her, suddenly snatched the invitation from An Hongmei’s hand.

After opening it and seeing the embossed golden characters, Liang Ruicheng’s face darkened instantly, and he snorted coldly before throwing the invitation onto the table,

”Nonsense, Liang Ruining never married, how could he have a child?!”

Liang Ruicheng’s face showed anger, but there was a gleam of schadenfreude in his eyes.

In his opinion, Liang Ruining had been dead for so many years; how could a daughter suddenly appear out of nowhere? It had to be an impostor. The Huangs were being deceived into believing it was true, and he would certainly relish seeing them tricked.

Compared to Liang Ruicheng’s schadenfreude, Old Madam Liang naturally thought much more.

Although she also believed this matter was unreliable, she appeared calm on the surface, but her heart was far from as tranquil as her expression suggested.

Back then, Old Madam Liang entered the Liang Family under a not-so-glorious identity, and for a long time, she and Liang Ruicheng were labeled as the homewrecker and illegitimate child, despised and condemned by many.

Especially after Liang Ruining joined the special forces and frequently distinguished himself, Liang Pengzhi saw Ruining in a different light, which made her and Liang Ruicheng’s existence seem like a joke.

Old Madam Liang hated Huang Chengxiang, and she hated Liang Ruining even more, because Ruining’s excellence only highlighted her own son’s incompetence and cowardice.

Therefore, when Ruining had an accident later on, the happiest person was Old Madam Liang.

Huang Chengxiang was dead, and Ruining was gone too, leaving only her son as the sole male in the Liang Family.

Old Madam Liang felt she could finally hold her head high and not be subjected to others’ judgemental stares, nor live in the shadow of Huang Chengxiang anymore.

But twenty years had passed, and now, suddenly, a child of Liang Ruining’s pops up, instantly awakening all those unpleasant memories of Old Madam Liang’s.

Her entire being involuntarily tensed up, and towards this suddenly emerged child, she felt an almost subconscious aversion and loathing.

Fortunately, it was a girl, not a boy; otherwise, it could have led to a series of problems later on.

”This child has an unclear origin, and it’s unknown where the Huang Family found her from, she must be a fraud!”

Old Madam Liang insisted that the child was a fraud, even though she faintly felt that the Huang Family was unlikely to play tricks in this matter, but she absolutely could not allow this inexplicable child to establish herself as the Liang Family’s granddaughter.

Having lived with Liang Pengzhi for so many years, she understood his thoughts very clearly. Although Liang Pengzhi had turned Huang Chengxiang and her son away from home for her and Liang Ruicheng’s sake, he still had feelings for his son, Ruining.

After Ruining’s accidental death, Liang Pengzhi harbored guilt towards Ruining and had sneaked off to Martyrs’ Park several times to pay respects at Ruining’s grave.

If a child of Liang Ruining’s suddenly appeared now, Liang Pengzhi would undoubtedly transfer his guilt towards Ruining onto this child, and who knows, maybe this child would even take away what belonged to Jin Hong & Jun Qi.

”We can’t let your father know about this, otherwise, it will definitely cause trouble.”

Old Madam Liang had spent her life scheming, and defeating Huang Chengxiang, a lady from a prominent family, had always been a proud achievement. Now that she had one foot in the grave, she would not allow any mistakes at this time and lose to a wet-behind-the-ears little girl.

Old Madam Liang and her son and daughter-in-law kept their mouths shut, wanting to keep the Huang Family’s affair from Liang Pengzhi; sadly, they miscalculated. Although Liang Pengzhi had stepped back from worldly affairs over the years, he still had many external contacts, and someone had already leaked the news about the Huang Family to him.

”Are you sure, this child really cured Huang Chengyi’s leg, and even went to treat the Lu Family boy?”
