Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 427: Chapter 423 Unlucky Liang Junqi

Zhou Shitao was immediately infuriated when he heard this, puffing up his whiskers and bulging his eyes in anger. However, the couple from the Gu Family couldn’t help but let out a snigger, inappropriately laughing.

Upon hearing the news, the Huang Family immediately had someone bring over a cup of tea. Huo Sining respectfully offered tea to both Zhou Shitao and Chief Lu, and both old men cheerfully drained their teacups in one gulp.

After finishing the tea, Chief Lu took out a box from his bosom and stuffed it into Huo Sining’s hands, ”This is a small gift from Grandpa to meet you. From now on, aside from the Huang Family, you’re also a part of the Lu Family. If you encounter any hardships, feel free to talk to Grandpa.”

Now that Chief Lu had made his gesture, Zhou Shitao certainly didn’t want to be outdone and immediately signaled Ji Kun, who was behind him, to bring out the gift he had prepared in advance.

It was impolite to refuse a gift from an elder, so Huo Sining didn’t decline and held both gifts in her hands.

Chief Lu’s kind and benign smile was captured in Huo Sining’s eyes, and instantly, her eyes reddened.

Huo Sining knew that Chief Lu’s initial intention of acknowledging her as his goddaughter wasn’t purely based on desire, but at this moment, the affection and care in his eyes were genuine. This old man truly regarded her as a younger family member.

With this thought, Huo Sining couldn’t help but bow deeply to the two elders. Meanwhile, Gu Xu also brought over two gift boxes, and Huo Sining handed them respectfully to the two old men.

”Teacher, Grandfather Lu, these are my meeting gifts for you both. Although they’re not worth much money, they represent the younger generation’s intentions,” she said.

The two old men exchanged glances, not having expected Huo Sining to make this move. But neither of them were the ungracious sort. Seeing this, they quickly accepted the gift boxes with joy.

Everyone was beaming with happiness. Huo Sining had initially felt that such a casual teacher-disciple ceremony might be too hasty, but Zhou Shitao wasn’t a pedantic person. Happy to take on Huo Sining, an excellent prospect, he broke his norm of self-restraint and unexpectedly joined Chief Lu in drinking three small glasses of wine, his face flushed with pleasure.

Over here, the atmosphere at Huo Sining’s apprenticeship and godparent acknowledgement dinner was extremely warm, but on the other hand, Liang Junqi ate halfway through her meal and suddenly said she needed to use the restroom.

Liu Manshu asked if she needed company, to which Liang Junqi shook her head, indicating she would go by herself.

Still reeling from the shock of Huo Sining acknowledging Chief Lu Zhou Shitao and Zhou Shitao as her godparents and mentors, Liu Manshu was somewhat lost in thought during dinner, naturally not paying much attention to Liang Junqi’s unusual behavior.

Once Liang Junqi stepped out of the banquet hall, she took advantage of the moment when no one was watching and slipped back the way she came to the backyard, which was just as she had expected, unlocked.

She stealthily entered the backyard, where the Tibetan Mastiff King was still lazily sprawled in the grass resting. Seeing her approach, it merely lifted its head and gave her a disdainful glance.

Liang Junqi felt a surge of nervousness, watched Heitan’s movements closely, and quietly reached into her backpack to pull out a syringe.

The syringe wasn’t filled with just anything, but rather a sleeping drug.

It was quite a coincidence that a few days earlier, when Liang Junqi went to ask her brother Liang Jinhong for money, he stingily gave her only fifty thousand. Liang Junqi, unhappy in her heart, sneaked back into Liang Jinhong’s bedroom while he was out.

Originally, she just wanted to find bank cards or valuable items like jewelry or jade in her brother’s room, but instead of finding anything of high value, she stumbled upon a bunch of adult toys, among which was a syringe of this type of drug.

Out of curiosity and fear of being discovered by Liang Jinhong, she secretly took one.

Such drugs were not easy to come by, and Liang Junqi initially planned to show them off to her friends and find someone to experiment on to test the effectiveness of the drug.

However, it was the Tibetan Mastiff King that caught her attention at Liulichang, and she hadn’t found the time to deal with the drug. She hadn’t anticipated that this syringe would come into play here.

Liang Junqi couldn’t help but secretly rejoice in her foresight, while she took out the bones she had sneakily hidden from the banquet.

Her plan was simple, toss the bone to the Tibetan Mastiff King to eat, then take advantage of the Mastiff’s distraction to insert the sedative syringe into the dog’s body. This way, by directly knocking the dog out, she could steal it away.

Unfortunately, ideals are perfect, but reality is tough.

Liang Junqi had no idea that Tibetan Mastiffs were different from ordinary dogs, and they wouldn’t easily eat food thrown to them by strangers.

So, when Liang Junqi threw those painstakingly hidden bones, Heitan didn’t move at all, not even glancing at them, showing no reaction whatsoever.

Liang Junqi immediately felt a surge of annoyance. There was only one chance, and she couldn’t back down because of this setback.

With this in mind, Liang Junqi’s eyes darted around as she quietly tiptoed through the grass, inching closer to Heitan.

One step, two steps, three steps...

With each step closer to the Tibetan Mastiff, it seemed as if the Mastiff was sound asleep, oblivious to her presence, which made Liang Junqi’s heart leap with joy, her face revealing her delight.

Just as she was less than three feet away from the dog, Liang Junqi grabbed the syringe and lunged at the Tibetan Mastiff.

In a split second, Heitan, who appeared to have been sleeping in the grass, suddenly sprang up from the ground, dodging Liang Junqi’s sneak attack.

”Ouch—”

Liang Junqi’s lunge met with emptiness, and she suddenly found herself sprawling on the ground, having taken a nosedive, so to speak.

Yes, a real nosedive!

Because Heitan was tied up and confined to the backyard by Huo Sining, this fellow couldn’t run around or use the toilet, so it could only relieve itself wherever it was.

Having been groomed by Huo Sining’s Spiritual Energy, Heitan’s intelligence was far greater than that of an average Tibetan Mastiff, almost comparable to that of a five or six-year-old child.

Because Huo Sining had taught it not to relieve itself just anywhere, this fellow had been very disciplined, always taking care of its business in the toilet.

Now, being forced to defecate on the open ground outside, it felt both ashamed and embarrassed, extremely mortified. Thus, it dug a hole to bury its feces and crawled over the buried excrement with its body, trying to cover the evidence and appearing lazily sleepy as if nothing had happened, hoping to confuse onlookers.

However, this action made Liang Junqi think it was sleeping, and her evil claws lunged at it. With no other choice, Heitan had to abandon the feces and run away, resulting in Liang Junqi falling squarely onto the pile of dung.

A stench wafted over, and Liang Junqi’s hand pressed into a pile of disgusting, soft black matter. As she lifted her hand, she nearly passed out.

After realizing what it was, Liang Junqi’s whole being turned upside down, and the dinner she had just eaten churned in her stomach, making her vomit on the spot.

The dog chain clanged loudly. While Liang Junqi was still feeling sick, the majestic Tibetan Mastiff had already pounced in front of her, and Heitan, with its dark fur, lunged straight at her.
