Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 430: Chapter 426 Are you kidding me?

Huo Sining let out a cold laugh, ”There’s no need to play tough with me; that won’t work here. I’m well aware of what you’re planning to do in the backyard.”

”I haven’t sold my dog even for fifteen million. My dog is a truly valuable item. Your actions already amount to the theft of someone else’s property, and I can absolutely take legal action against you!”

Before Liang Junqi could speak, Liu Manshu was startled.

Fifteen million?! Liu Manshu thought that a Tibetan Mastiff cost just tens of thousands of yuan and was shocked to hear Huo Sining mention such an astronomical figure.

Liu Manshu thought Huo Sining was just trying to scare them and couldn’t help asking angrily, ”Miss Huo, fifteen million for a dog—are you thinking we don’t know the market price for Tibetan Mastiffs and trying to fool us?”

Huo Sining looked at Liu Manshu, ”Why would I fool you? This is simply the truth. If you don’t believe me, you can ask her. She was there in Liulichang, and she knows Boss Luo Cheng who offered fifteen million for it!”

Huo Sining nodded toward Liang Junqi, and Liu Manshu subconsciously glanced at Liang Junqi.

With her lips pressed tightly together, Liang Junqi said nothing, but her expression revealed that she was not surprised by this price.

What else was there for Liu Manshu not to understand? Coupling that with what Liang Junqi said earlier, about wanting Huo Sining to hand the dog over to her for dealing, and then noticing the syringe in Huo Sining’s hand, Liu Manshu instantly realized what Liang Junqi intended to do.

Realizing she had been used as a pawn by a young girl, Liu Manshu felt both annoyed and furious, and couldn’t help but turn her head to glare fiercely at Liang Junqi.

However, since she had brought the person, she had an inescapable responsibility for the ensuing events. Liu Manshu felt as uncomfortable as if she had swallowed a fly but still had to speak in favor of Liang Junqi,

”Miss Huo, I apologize for not supervising adequately. Jun Qi is young and naive. It wasn’t intentional. She’s just playful and wanted to get close to your dog. She certainly didn’t mean to steal your dog.”

”On this auspicious day, surely, Miss Huo, you wouldn’t want to run into bad luck. I implore you not to hold this against a child.”

Huo Sining hadn’t intended to hold it against Liang Junqi in the first place. The girl was dressed quite uniquely, but one could tell she was no older than sixteen or seventeen, not yet an adult. Even if Huo Sining wanted to take legal action, the court would not be able to convict Liang Junqi.

But Huo Sining certainly hadn’t forgotten that Liang Junqi was trying to extort her a moment ago. With a sneer, she said,

”Madam, as you say, but even if one is naive, they should still have a sense of what can and cannot be done. My dog is precious and might have been frightened by your child just now. Maybe it won’t be able to eat or sleep. Shouldn’t we also talk about a compensation of fifty—no, one hundred million for emotional distress?”

Huo Sining was throwing Liang Junqi’s earlier words back at her, leaving Liu Manshu showing an embarrassed look upon hearing this.

”Madam, if you’re unwilling, then I won’t insist. I’ll submit the syringe and the video to the judicial department for testing as per normal procedure. Regardless of the outcome, I won’t object,” Huo Sining shrugged nonchalantly.

You might not object, but I do!

Liu Manshu’s face turned bitter. If Huo Sining really submitted the evidence, regardless of the judgment made, Liang Junqi’s personal record would surely bear a tarnish.

Given Huo Sining’s current status, it wouldn’t be easy for Liang Junqi to get off the hook. If Huo Sining truly wanted to punish Liang Junqi, let alone Liu Manshu, even the combined efforts of the Liang Family and the An Family would be futile.

Liu Manshu was extremely depressed. It was she who had brought Liang Junqi to Chun Jing Garden, and if anything went wrong, both the An Family and Liang Family would definitely blame her. She would then be like a mirror to Zhu Bajie—neither human inside nor out.

Thinking of this, Liu Manshu felt helpless and could only nod in agreement to compensate.

”Why should we? Your dog almost bit me, and we didn’t even get compensation, yet we still have to pay you?!”

Seeing Liu Manshu actually agreeing to pay the settlement, Liang Junqi instantly exploded, furiously shouting and jumping around at Huo Sining.

”Shut your mouth! Do you want to make this mess even bigger?!”

Liu Manshu’s temper flared as well, fearful that Liang Junqi wouldn’t be able to control his temper and cause more trouble. She quickly pulled Liang Junqi away and scolded him sternly:

”Don’t think just because I’m your aunt by marriage I have to deal with your mess! I don’t owe you anything. If you keep this up, I’ll leave right away. Whatever mess you create, I won’t care anymore, it’s up to you to handle it!”

Liang Junqi immediately quieted down upon hearing Liu Manshu’s words, not daring to make a further scene, but his gaze was filled with venomous resentment toward Huo Sining.

Huo Sining remained calm, not finding her request the slightest bit excessive. If she hadn’t found evidence, she would have definitely paid the one million in mental anguish that Liang Junqi demanded. Furthermore, this girl had her eye on her dog; if it came down to it, Heitan would’ve been skinned alive if not killed.

To deal with shameless people, normal measures definitely wouldn’t work. One must use the very tactics they enjoy employing. Once you’ve got a hold of their achilles heel, never let go. They must be made to feel the pain to be wary and not act recklessly again.

Holding the evidence in her hand, Huo Sining watched as Liu Manshu could only obediently compensate. Once the one million was transferred, Huo Sining, in front of both Liu Manshu and Liang Junqi, crushed the sedative syringe with fingerprints on it on the ground.

Thinking about the surveillance footage Huo Sining had mentioned, Liu Manshu felt uneasy and directly spoke up: ”Delete the surveillance footage as well.”

Huo Sining raised her eyebrows upon hearing this, looking at Liu Manshu and Liang Junqi with a smile and slowly said, ”Actually, there is no surveillance footage; this backyard is so desolate, there’s really no need for cameras.”

Liu Manshu, who had been maintaining the calm and gentle demeanor of an elegant lady, finally couldn’t keep up the pretense upon hearing Huo Sining’s words. Her expression cracked in an instant. She glared at Huo Sining with teeth clenched and rage evident on her face.

Liang Junqi’s mind buzzed, his face flushed red with anger, his eyes wide as he glared furiously at Huo Sining: ”Bitch, you dare to play me?!”

Huo Sining looked coldly at Liang Junqi: ”So what if I played you? The fact that I didn’t teach you a lesson or hold you accountable is already merciful. Don’t mistake my tolerance for your license to indulge. I’m not your mother; I’m under no obligation to show you kindness or forbearance!”

”Being young and ignorant is no excuse. Since your parents don’t know how to educate you, then let me teach you how to behave! Don’t think the world revolves around you, that everyone should coddle you!”

”You!” Liang Junqi’s expression turned even uglier, with anger burning in his eyes, pointing at Huo Sining but unable to say a word.
