Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 51: Chapter 50: Ruthless Enough to Exploit Even Myself

Outside the train, there were sounds of people talking and moving, but inside, the atmosphere had fallen into a strange silence,

Even if the three brothers were dense, seeing Su Huan sitting there as if he was at home, they knew what was going on.

”You were deceived, Lao San!”

”He’s the real conductor!”

Lao Da and Lao Er shouted, clenching their guns tightly.

”Shut up, both of you! I know!”

Lao San shouted back irritably, but his eyes were fixed on Su Huan.

What kind of look was that? It was like discovering your brother secretly passed the civil service exams and got into grad school, and got kept by a rich lady, achieving success in both career and love—complex and shocking.

Incredible, angry at himself for not trying harder, and hatred! Why couldn’t it be him instead!

Seeing Lao San’s complex expression, Su Huan felt a rare twinge of guilt, worried they might do something reckless. Two tiny electrical currents traveled through the metal soles of his shoes, passed through the metal car, and reached Lao Da and Lao Er.

The two only felt a numbness in their limbs, and their assault rifles fell to the ground.

Su Huan got up, opened his arms in a friendly gesture, and said with a smile, ”I was worried you might accidentally shoot with the tension of holding guns.”

Lao San looked at him deeply and said, ”So you could have taken us down anytime, why act?”

”Of course, it was for the three fire trucks.”

After all, no matter how skilled he was, he couldn’t drive three vehicles at once, and if a hard approach led to unexpected trouble, then what?

He hated troubles outside the plan the most.

But his tone suddenly dropped, ”You call it acting, does that mean you’re saying I deceived you?”

”Bullshit, every word you said was a lie!”

Su Huan squinted, ”Oh? Which one?”

”You said the conductor was exploiting the passengers!”

”Didn’t you see it yourself? Wasn’t the conductor exploiting the passengers?”

Lao San was dumbfounded, starting to feel something wasn’t right.

Lao Da and Lao Er added, ”You also said the conductor took over the train with six or seven people!”

Su Huan pointed behind him at Liang Kuan, Xiaoba in his wheelchair, Yu Yue beside him...then finally pointed at himself and said, his eyes clear, ”Add the two you’ve met, isn’t that six people?”

”You said the conductor kidnapped a sweet young wife!”

Su Huan glanced at Yu Yue, whose face was slightly red, nodded, ”Indeed, she is very sweet, no doubt.”

Lao San stopped his brothers from speaking further, saying in a gloomy voice, ”But you didn’t say you were the conductor. You said the conductor was exploiting you.”

”That’s right, when I get ruthless, I even exploit myself.”

Su Huan said confidently.

’What a... scoundrel.’

Yu Yue couldn’t help but turn her head away, afraid she might laugh out loud in such a tense situation.

Lao San frowned, searching carefully for loopholes in Su Huan’s words, but suddenly realized that if Su Huan shamelessly owned up to the self-insult, it seemed there was no flaw in his logic.

Su Huan gently said, ”Lao San, regardless of that, what was our goal getting on the train?”

Lao Da’s eyes widened, ”Take out the conductor! Grab the train!”

Liang Kuan couldn’t stand it anymore, rubbing his nose and thinking, with such stupidity, they still wanted to hijack the train?

They’d be counting money for Su Huan even after being sold.

Moreover, he felt that this scene would soon be visible.

Su Huan agreed, ”Right! Take out the conductor, grab the train, but the thing is now we don’t have to take out the conductor to grab the train, doesn’t that mean the objective is achieved?”

As he spoke, he placed his hands on the shoulders of the two brothers sincerely, ”Lao San, think about it, if the conductor was an outsider, even if we took him out, wouldn’t we still need to choose someone to be the conductor? Now without taking out this conductor, your fourth brother here has become the conductor, doesn’t that achieve our goal for this trip?”

Then he looked to the young men and Huang Sea nearby, ”Doesn’t that make sense?”

”Makes sense, really makes sense, totally makes sense!”

Huang Sea nodded repeatedly, his glasses shaking twice on his face.

Even though the situation had changed slightly, it was clear to Old Huang that this handsome young man was calling the shots.

Lao San’s face was uncertain, makes sense?

Makes no damn sense, Su Huan’s every word was familiar to him, but each one didn’t sound right!

What could he do?

Pick up the gun and fight back?

Besides, he had long told Su Huan his intentions, and with the miraculous way Su Huan could disarm them without even lifting a finger, what did he have to fight with?

Lao San couldn’t figure out what Su Huan was up to, so he asked straightforwardly, ”Brother, we’re not bright, what do you want, just say it.”

Su Huan put away his smile and said seriously, ”Of course, it’s to bring the brothers onboard, ah no, get on the train!”

The three brothers exchanged glances, Lao Da and Lao Er habitually leaving the decision to Lao San again.

”If we get on the train, what would our position be?”

Lao San asked, staring into Su Huan’s eyes.

”I won’t promise too much, but on this train, as long as you follow me and work hard, at least you won’t go hungry.”

Su Huan wasn’t over-promising; he did intend to recruit these three brothers, though a bit dense, their hearts weren’t bad.

Lao San didn’t look at Su Huan at this time but observed the expressions of Liang Kuan, Qi Xiaobai, and the others.

Seeing them remain calm, he then looked at Su Huan, and with a hint of hesitation, ”Does that mean I should start calling you Boss from now on?”

Su Huan chuckled, ”You could also call me Fourth Brother.”

”Since when does the third owe call the fourth brother, let’s just say conductor, I’ll trust you once more, but don’t deceive us brothers again.”

Lao San said with significant meaning.

Su Huan solemnly replied, ”We’re brothers!”

Suddenly, Yu Yue’s face changed, blurting out, ”A horde of zombies is coming!”

Everyone froze, except Xiaoba and Liang Kuan, who immediately looked at Su Huan, the others were a bit confused.

At this time, there was a hurried sound of footsteps in the train car, and Yu Jing rushed in, ”The guards at the perimeter reported a horde of zombies approaching!”

Su Huan glanced at the young men and Huang Sea, who hadn’t gotten the chance to ask more questions, frowned, and asked, ”What’s today’s progress on the armored train preparation?”

”Two of the hydrogen train cars have been armed and fitted with steel plating.”

”What’s the status of the car sequence?”

Liang Kuan said in a muffled voice, ”The front has been connected in sequence, but there are still four hydrogen train cars, two baggage cars, and two cars contaminated with zombies left unconnected.”

”How long to connect them all?”

”Twenty minutes.”

”What if we abandon the two green train cars?”

”Fifteen minutes.”

Time was tight, and after pondering for a moment, Su Huan immediately ordered, ”Place the two green train cars at the end, abandon them if time doesn’t allow, prioritize connecting the baggage and hydrogen train cars.”

”Understood!”
