Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 67: Chapter 66: Career Lineage

The man was momentarily taken aback, unsure of what Su Huan meant, hesitantly replied, ”Not much education, didn’t finish middle school before I came out to make a living, I’ve been following my master in auto repair.”

Su Huan nodded lightly.

Recruiting someone like this is partly to relieve Yu Jing of some of the hands-on pressure, and partly to address the future issues of war vehicle modification and repair on the train.

It happens to replace the future ”Locomotive Guy” position.

At that time, the Locomotive Guy profession was a ”Maker” field ”Locomotive Modifier.”

It was a type of ”wilderness spectrum,” the so-called wilderness spectrum refers to the self-evolved professions of Scavengers.

At that time, various major powers were eagerly researching various gene potions, perfecting the professional system, but ordinary people had no opportunity to access the expensive gene potions and could only entrust their fate to great evolution.

Thus, people evolved all sorts of strange abilities, and some accidentally formed new professions.

Combined with some powers’ guidance and experimentation, the wilderness became a giant petri dish.

Various new professions emerged endlessly.

But most of these professions were stuck at Tier One, and even evolving to Tier Two was rare.

The wilderness was filled with various chaotic names and disorganized professions.

Many professions didn’t even have the chance to be named before disappearing with their hosts into the wilderness the next day.

Gradually, big companies began to launch self-developed systematic gene potions.

Like Deep Blue Data prefers using terms rich with Eastern color to name their series capabilities, such as ”Kui Ba” in ”Manipulator” field and ”Blazing Sun Patrol Angel” in ”Power Supplier” field.

Due to only a few main profession lines, they were called ”Xuan Huang Series.”

And not Xuan Huang Spectrum.

The wilderness mixed with numerous professions including those from major companies, took years to slowly sort out some main series and attached branch evolutionary directions, and thus was called ”Wilderness Spectrum.”

”Locomotive Modifier” is the Tier Two branch direction of ”Mechanical Apprentice.”

So the complete naming for this profession should be: Wilderness Spectrum - Mechanical Series - Locomotive Modifier.

And Su Huan’s profession born in Mechanical God Cult is somewhat simpler, Gospel Series - Perpetual Prime.

The naming uses the highest tier capability in this direction.

But Locomotive Modifier doesn’t, Tier Two is his limit.

At that time, Huang Sea spent all his savings to advance to Tier Two, combined with information he gathered, cultivated thirteen abilities in total to form ”Locomotive Modifier.”

But an unknown ability clash caused his modification failure rate to be terrifyingly high.

Although occasionally there were strokes of genius, that terrifying failure rate became more famous.

And the biggest cost was that his brain was damaged upon advancement.

Causing Huang Sea to sometimes become eccentric.

Clearly one of the rare Tier Two technicians in the wilderness, he ended up worse off than when at Tier One.

It’s a pity.

Once the brain is damaged, moving forward becomes difficult; the damn Maker field requires not only ability, but some professions also need knowledge!

Lacking knowledge, one might become a Maker, but will never reach the limit of this field.

This is why Su Huan suddenly asked him whether he studied.

If he really awakens as a Maker, this life is basically set for him.

Huang Sea was in any case a university professor, yet this profession cornered him fiercely.

Let alone a normal person who hasn’t even completed basic education.

Although people can do anything when cornered.

But with math, physics, and chemistry, being cornered doesn’t help, can’t do it means can’t do it.

However, now it’s still early for the other party’s evolution, Xiaoba and the others haven’t advanced yet, even if it’s time, it’s the turn of Lao San and the others.

From inside out, considering oneself and others, order can’t be mess.

”Once you’ve packed your things, go check out the three fire trucks in the rear carriage, see what’s broken, repair what’s fixable, write down any materials needed, and give me a modification plan.”

”A... plan...” The man shrank.

Upon hearing these two high-level terms, he started trembling.

Su Huan actually wasn’t angry, the opposite is not Yu Jing who can both design and hands-on, societal divisions of labor differ.

”Don’t need you to write, nor draw, just observe these fire trucks and think about how to modify them, and once you have an idea, let me know, understand?”

”Got it, will definitely get it done.”

Su Huan gazed at the resident training doctor in the auxiliary department.

”You mentioned you’re what kind of doctor?”

The young man swallowed saliva, repeated it, Su Huan roughly understood.

The so-called auxiliary department refers to doctors in B-ultrasound imaging and such inspection departments, capable of diagnosing based on films, but currently there are no professional equipments available on the train for use.

”Can you treat diseases?”

The young man nodded, then quickly shook his head.

Su Huan frowned slightly, ”Leave the equipment and you’re not capable?”

”Correct.”

”You’ve studied the basic knowledge of medicine, right?”

”Studied.”

”Can distinguish bones and blood vessels, right?”

The young man hesitated slightly, but still nodded.

”Not easily fainting at the sight of blood, right?”

”Definitely not.”

Su Huan’s palm fell on his shoulder, smiling in approval, ”Miracle Doctor!”

Young man: ”???”

Su Huan comforted, ”Don’t worry, at that time, I’ll dress you in a white coat, injured people will feel their pain alleviating by thirty percent upon seeing you, besides, you are the most professional on the entire train apart from one nurse.”

The young man’s eye twitched.

Miracle Doctor... is it deduced in this way?

He wanted to say his actual clinical skill might be worse than that of a nurse in a major hospital.

But he dared not.

Forget it, take one step at a time.

Su Huan pondered, ”You go help in carriage number three, wait until the medical carriage is established then there will be a chance for you to shine.”

The young man nodded nervously, felt uneasy, unsure what the opportunity brought by the train director would look like.

But he always had a sense that the scene may not look too optimistic.

He really can’t cure diseases...

Su Huan then arranged tasks for the remaining few people, the woman who studied materials and engineering was to find Yu Jing, translator and drones were to rummage through the electronic products in the carriage, checking how many usable cameras there are.

He planned to set up monitor terminals within his own room.

Achieving to see the entire train situation without stepping out.

Then it’s about modifying the train while on the road, opening the ammunition depot, striving to capture it ahead of the Steel Council.

By then, the armed train would have sufficient firepower.

Su Huan was thinking about the next plan, suddenly saw Yu Yue’s figure appear in the corridor, instinctively asked, ”Did something happen?”

Yu Yue brushed the hair beside her ear, seriously said, ”I hear vehicle sounds approaching us from outside.”

”Hmm?”

Currently, in the eighth carriage, Su Huan opened the side glass and gazed into the distance.

In a patch of withered yellow, a billowing smoke dragon charged toward the railway where their armed train was stationed.
