Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 63: Chapter 62: Imprinting Will Upon the Era

Upon hearing Su Huan’s words, a trace of unease flashed in everyone’s eyes.

Yesterday afternoon, the temperature suddenly soared to over fifty degrees, and the car’s air conditioning began to fail.

The sudden burst of heat felt like being trapped within a ghostly wall, enveloping us from all directions. Even if we wanted to run, we didn’t know where to go, and could only despairingly breathe the boiling air.

This was despite the fact that they had already fled over a thousand kilometers in advance.

In that instant, everyone understood what Su Huan meant by ”something worse.”

If they had stayed in Mojiang City or even Wen’an City, they would probably have become dehydrated corpses by now.

It wasn’t until last night, when the train approached Qingchuan Province, that the temperature dropped again.

”South of Qingchuan Province... is there no one alive?”

Qi Xiaobai asked softly.

Su Huan shook his head, ”Don’t be so pessimistic. People aren’t fools. If we’re running, others would also run. In the middle of winter, with temperatures rising at such a bizarre rate, it would definitely cause widespread panic and flight.”

”But many people wouldn’t choose to flee, right.” Xiaoba stated, with a hint of regret.

”You have a reason to run, others have a reason to stay. Making a choice with insufficient information isn’t reliant on reason and logic.”

”What is it reliant on, then?”

Yu Jing, interested in the topic, interjected with a question.

”On fate.”

Su Huan replied coldly.

If not for Liang Kuan wanting to head north to find his daughter, he wouldn’t be on the train.

If Su Huan hadn’t taken control of the train, he wouldn’t have met Qi Xiaobai at the right time.

If the three brothers hadn’t happened to get on the fire truck, they wouldn’t have been persuaded onto the train by Su Huan.

If Yu Jing and her daughter hadn’t boarded the train the day before Su Huan finished preparing to recruit more people, their results wouldn’t have been better than the other women who came later.

”A lot of things aren’t influenced by personal will, but—” Su Huan then tapped the table and said seriously, ”that was in the past. Once you step onto the path of evolution, your impact on this era will grow stronger, and eventually, you can imprint your will upon this era!”

His clear and determined voice echoed in the carriage.

This time, everyone could tell there was no hint of sarcasm in Su Huan’s words, just as if stating a fact.

If Su Huan had said such words before, everyone might have had their own thoughts.

But now, as they looked at him, they all simultaneously recalled the scene of crossing Mojiang at night, the struggle like a battle of dragons, blood and steel, explosions and wild laughter, all as magnificent and epic as a saga.

The three brothers, who still harbored some resentment, became Su Huan’s loyal followers after that night.

Their favorability towards him soared several notches.

This is the meaning of Su Huan bringing a few people on the train. Yu Jing and others are smart; although their attitude towards Su Huan subtly changed, they hid their thoughts, not as direct as the three brothers’ feedback.

”Snap”

Su Huan snapped his fingers.

”Having escaped the high-temperature zone, we have a chance to catch our breath, but it doesn’t mean we have time to squander. We’ll come into contact with more survivors next, and the armed train plan needs to be boldly advanced. Collection of various materials, food cycle, weaponry, and ammunition, refined management of the rear carriage passengers, all need to be addressed next.”

”Yu Jing, start with you. Report the progress over the past two days.”

After briefly summarizing the general direction to give them a sense of direction, Su Huan handed the floor over to them.

Yu Jing pondered for a moment and said, ”The first ten carriages have each been fitted with four tons of water tanks and one ton of fuel tanks, all installed. All water tanks are connected to purifiers, with a pH adjustment device added at the end. Fuel tanks are stored independently and connected to nozzles, and I’ve added some incendiaries inside to be used as flamethrowers.”

”The Tier One Light Armor we researched previously, I’ve pushed it to the extreme. The weight is 60% lighter than steel, with better impact resistance, tensile strength, and high-temperature tolerance, but it’s hard to surpass the 60% threshold, as if hitting a barrier.”

”Then I tried merging the White Snake’s skin with metal but it’s not progressing, so I tried merging Butcher’s fat with metal, forming a special material.”

Yu Jing said as she took out a palm-sized piece of material resembling a transparent glass.

Su Huan couldn’t recognize it; it felt strange, somewhat skin-like, very smooth to the touch.

”This material has excellent light transmission and is extremely resistant to punctures and impacts. The only downside is it doesn’t withstand high temperatures, softening and dissolving above three hundred degrees.”

Yu Jing explained.

Su Huan was surprised, no wonder he hadn’t seen this in his past life. The advantages are remarkable, but the disadvantages are significant too. Even if a faction developed it, mass production would be impossible.

Otherwise, if a vehicle was left outside for too long, the sun would melt it.

But this is normal; the Maker can’t always have stable outputs.

It’s normal to occasionally come across some odd materials.

”Have you tried merging it with glass?”

”I’m trying, maybe tomorrow it will show results.”

”Alright, Wan Xing?”

Su Huan’s gaze shifted to Wan Xing, who was barely noticeable at the side.

The woman had a faint scent of antiseptic, and her body temperature seemed a few degrees lower than others.

”One Tier Two Pan-energy Crystal, two Tier Ones, and the White Snake has been disassembled, some materials with me, some with Yu Jing.”

Her pale fingertips pressed on the Crystal Stone, pushing it to the center of the table.

Seeing the Pan-energy Crystal with two reinforcement circles, Su Huan’s eyebrows relaxed, with a sense of realization.

’So it’s a Tier Two, no wonder it was so easy to take down.’

At that time, seeing the White Snake Mojiang’s figure, Su Huan thought the opponent had stepped into Tier Three.

He planned to borrow some external force to temporarily repel it.

After all, their goal was to cross the river, not to engage in a life-or-death battle there.

But after the first exchange, he felt something was off.

Unlike humans, Evolution Beasts don’t have all sorts of strange abilities. Their evolution focuses on one thing—ultimate physical force, especially vitality, completely overwhelming humans of the same tier.

Such a fierce big snake was taken down in one move.

Even though he was a Tier One Evolver then, combined with the stacked power of gasoline grenade explosions, it shouldn’t have been possible to instantly take down a Tier Three Evolution Beast.

At most, it would have been injured, dazed.

But unexpectedly, it was taken down in one move.

Now, aside from the materials from the snake, just obtaining this Tier Two Pan-energy Crystal made it all worthwhile.

[Results are out, PK failed, it’s time to consider going live. Though the word count is a bit low, thinking of writing more free Chapters, so going live in April, especially since I also resigned that day, so after going live, posting ten thousand words daily.]
