Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 41: Chapter 40: Earth Ghost

Black pus sprayed out.

The tumor in the skinny hand was tossed up and down.

The left hand stretched forward, pointing at the train, slowly moving in the same direction, while the right hand reached back; because of the hunched posture, the eyes struggled to look upwards to see the train’s direction clearly.

With a whooshing sound, the reverse-jointed arm threw the tumor.

”Bang!”

The tumor smashed onto the train; in an instant, a handful of brown-green pus splattered out, completely obscuring the side windows.

All around, the metal armor started bubbling.

But with the corrosion speed of a Tier One Earth Ghost, it might not be able to penetrate a 15mm steel plate even given a week.

Let alone, the armor at the front of the train is even thicker than 27mm.

Yet the most notable trait of this thing is its disgusting nature; that pus not only corrodes but also carries an effect like marking information.

To humans, it smells foul, but to zombies, it’s equivalent to a signal flare.

”Hey, look what I found here, delicious food! Come and eat!”

This could trigger a small-scale zombie outbreak within a range of tens of meters.

The best way is to quickly wash it off with a water gun or sprinkle some dry powder to neutralize it.

In my past life, this Tier One Earth Ghost was the one I dealt with the most; for others, this kind of long-range attacking zombie was disgusting, but my occupation at that time was the ”Electromagnetic Mage.”

I could accelerate small objects like steel balls or coins to supersonic speed.

Dealing with these fragile Earth Ghosts was literally a one-hit kill.

But there were still times when things went wrong.

Recalling some awful memories, Su Huan’s face turned frighteningly sullen, ”Don’t bother with it, when Xiaoba comes, just kill it directly!”

He hasn’t formed a specific profession yet and cannot precisely control electromagnetic forces.

However, some techniques still remain, so Su Huan directly emits high-temperature energy to reduce the manipulation of mediums.

The downside is that it has high consumption and a small range.

Soon, a large wave of zombies emerged ahead, led by an imposing Tier One Butcher, dragging along the long-dead remains of a Tier One ”Skull Crusher” as a weapon.

On the mountainous, fat body, two small eyes burst forth with pure malice.

”Do zombies also kill each other?”

Ever since Liang Kuan smashed one before, he no longer feared these flashy yet spineless evolved zombies.

After all, he was driving thousands of tons of a steel dragon beneath his feet.

Even if a real dragon crawled out of the water, it would have to shy away when faced with the rampaging armored train.

”The characteristic of the Butcher is to find weapons. If there are no suitable weapons around when it breaks out of its cocoon, it will grab other zombies. This unlucky guy got caught by it.”

Su Huan looked oddly at the Skull Crusher, whose massive and strong muscles, with hands as large as watermelon-sized hammers, originally made it a very fierce zombie. Now its head was smashed, and the upper body was ground down to just a mass of flesh.

If memory serves, there was a legendary Butcher in his past life that particularly coveted the Skull Crusher’s hammers. Therefore, every stage, it would kill a same-tier Skull Crusher to use it as a weapon.

Could it be that it’s the one right in front of us now?

”Su, is it time to fight?”

Qi Xiaobai’s clear voice came from behind, and the young boy seemed to have regained his fighting spirit.

Pulling his thoughts back, Su Huan nodded and said sternly, ”Liang Kuan, get ready to ram through; you can stop after taking down the leading Butcher. Xiaoba, you handle that annoying Earth Ghost on the wall; aim for the back.”

”Got it!”

As Liang Kuan pressed the lever to the bottom, the whole train seemed to transform into a roaring steel beast.

Qi Xiaobai’s gaze landed on the Earth Ghost chasing alongside the railing, his pupils completely dyed with the sheen of liquid metal.

Su Huan took a deep breath, clinging to the remaining Tier One Pan-energy Crystal in his hand, the tungsten steel ram’s head trembling with humming blue arcs being poured into it.

”Don’t accelerate, there’s a train five hundred meters ahead on the tracks!”

Yu Yue’s voice was clearly transmitted from the second-floor viewing deck, audible to everyone.

Su Huan frowned and stopped channeling energy into the engine, ”Five hundred meters, can we stop?”

Liang Kuan replied in a muffled voice, ”No problem!”

As the wheels rolled over the frontmost ordinary zombie horde, the noise was like hundreds of rotten tomatoes bursting simultaneously.

Dark red blood sprayed in a fan shape on the 15mm composite armor, and the anti-explosion net instantly hung with shattered organs, while half a zombie’s head got caught on the observation window’s edge, its hollow eye sockets frozen with greedy malice, becoming the first footnote in this bloody tableau.

The Butcher swung the Skull Crusher’s corpse at the train’s head, in that instant.

”Zzztt——”

Over ten thousand volts of high-voltage electricity surged into the Butcher’s body through the ram’s head, scorching its massive body until smoke burst out.

It was directly knocked into a rigid state, then fiercely hit by the ram once more.

Bright yellow fat splattered along the way.

The zombie horde of about a hundred was cleaved like wheat by the iron plow; severed limbs drew parabolas in the air, and the blood mist stirred up by the ram refracted into a rainbow under the sunlight.

”Bang!”

Another disgusting tumor smashed directly onto the front window, this time mixing Butcher’s blood with Earth Ghost’s pus, rendering the view completely obscured.

The armored train emitted a sharp hum, beginning to brake.

Qi Xiaobai reached out, grasping at the air, and a side of the anti-explosion net suddenly flew out, transforming into a giant metallic net, enveloping the Earth Ghost.

The metal wires rapidly contracted, directly strangling the hunched figure into minced meat.

”Ssss——”

The train finally came to a halt, but without an electronic map for real-time comparison, Su Huan had no idea how far they were from Mojiang City South Station.

”Buzz...”

The lights in the cockpit switched on, and the air conditioning sped up its operation.

As Su Huan looked at the scene outside, where the glass was smeared with filth, he furrowed his eyebrows and instructed, ”Xiaoba, give that Butcher the final blow; you can ignore the ordinary zombies. Old Liang, come with me.”

He said and walked towards the dining car behind, just in time to see the newly arrived Yu Jing and her daughter.

Su Huan opened his mouth and said, ”Yu Jing, today your task is to connect the dining car’s water tank to the train’s head. At that time, attach the high-pressure water gun to ensure the windows can be washed at any moment.”

”Alright.”

Yu Jing paused for a moment, then glanced at the flesh hanging on both sides of the anti-explosion net and nodded.

Arriving at carriage number two, Wan Xing sat beside a huge table, with several large table lamps casting light on it in addition to the carriage’s lights.

On the table lay the crab that Su Huan had conveniently brought back that day.

Wan Xing was meticulously dismantling its shell with a dagger sharpened by Night Demon Claw.

Seeing Su Huan and Liang Kuan approaching, she curiously asked, ”Is it time for a mission?”

Su Huan shook his head, ”Not for you, keep collecting materials. Have you extracted the Pan-energy Crystal from this crab?”

”Yes,” Wan Xing nodded slightly towards a Tier One Pan-energy Crystal at the side of the table.

Su Huan’s face lit up with joy.

Counting this one, they had already obtained three Tier One Pan-energy Crystals; get two more, and they could upgrade lv2 ”Pan-energy Transformation” to lv3.

Just right, outside the train there was still a Butcher and an Earth Ghost.
