Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 33: Chapter 32: White Snake Mojiang

On the other side, the instigator had already put away the pistol.

Back in the dining car, Su Huan first tore off his sticky T-shirt, grabbed a deodorant spray and sprayed it randomly on himself a couple of times, then tossed it to Yu Jing nearby.

”You all take a bottle of deodorant and spray every window, door, and any possible crack in the train.”

Yu Jing’s eyes flashed with a hint of doubt, ”Only the carriages in front of us? What about the ones behind?”

”Take a box of deodorant over to Wang He, and let your mom keep an eye on the second floor of the sightseeing carriage.”

Su Huan squinted his eyes and said.

Soon, except for Liang Kuan and Xiaoba who were driving, the three women were on the move.

Busy spraying deodorant in the various carriages.

A minute later, the train lights turned off, and the roar of beasts outside became more terrifying.

Su Huan planned to check the second floor. As soon as he went up, he saw a silhouette standing there, holding a bottle of deodorant, with a sense of helpless bewilderment.

Getting closer, smelling the faint scent of caramelized chestnuts on Yu Yue, Su Huan was a bit puzzled, ”Did you discover anything?”

The woman’s face was very pale, and under the moonlight outside the train window, it looked somewhat poignant.

Yu Yue’s full lips trembled, ”I...heard a lot of terrifying noises.”

Su Huan realized, he had long been accustomed to this kind of oppression, even in his past life when facing evolution beasts. Moreover, as the train moved away, that instinctive agitation in his heart was gradually diminishing.

As for those noises, they were all mixed together and noisy to him, nothing particularly terrifying.

But for someone like Yu Yue who could control sound waves, facing those noises might feel like a close-in illusion.

Su Huan took the deodorant from her hand, his voice calm and reassuring, ”What did you hear?”

The young man was shirtless, his strong physique glistening with sweat, mixed with the fever of hormones, which distracted her slightly.

Upon hearing his question, Yu Yue instinctively recalled those sounds, her gaze becoming fearful again, ”I heard the sounds of arthropods crawling, bones snapping, flesh tearing, and waves crashing, as if something terrifying was climbing up the shore...”

Suddenly, warm hands enveloped her trembling earlobes, and Yu Yue was stunned in place.

”Remember, those things are far away from you, and you are in a safe train. The train beneath you is still moving, and those dangers will only get further away.”

Su Huan slightly raised his hand, making sure his voice was steady and clear as it reached Yu Yue’s ears.

Looking at the young man in front of her, although his face was still indifferent and his voice was still calm, she felt he seemed much gentler.

At least that’s how she felt right now.

Su Huan’s hands blocked out those terrifying noises, and she was affected by his calm demeanor.

It was only then that she suddenly realized she was almost embraced by him.

A blush quickly spread across her skin, stunned in place, at a loss for what to do.

”I will slowly raise my hands. Don’t receive sounds that are too far away, try to restrain the dispersion of your energy, and don’t listen unconsciously.”

Su Huan’s hands raised and naturally rested on her shoulders.

The woman’s evolved figure was increasingly lush and tight, only mostly hidden by loose clothing.

Just resting on top, through the clothes, one could still feel the delicate skin and the smooth, slender collarbone.

At this moment, she hung her head in front of him, the fuzz on the back of her neck lightly trembling in the air conditioning, like some kind of bird awaiting its feathers to be smoothed.

”Much... much better now.”

Realizing she was being comforted in the embrace of a young man around her daughter’s age, Yu Yue felt overwhelmingly ashamed, not daring to look into his eyes.

Feeling that she wasn’t as tense anymore, Su Huan relaxed a bit inside.

Evolvers aren’t that stable; every evolution condenses tens of thousands of years of iteration in an instant, like stacking a pyramid. No one knows if it will collapse next time.

And stable emotions make up part of the factor.

Feeling the hand on her shoulder being removed, Yu Yue felt a bit empty inside.

Carefully raising her head, she found Su Huan’s gaze fixed behind her, instinctively wanting to follow his line of sight.

But he firmly pinched the soft flesh on her waist and pulled her back into his arms, the force almost squeezing two tears from her eyes.

”Don’t look back!”

Su Huan’s voice was terribly heavy.

In the next moment, she also felt the gaze of that terrifying presence, her body frozen in place.

Heeding Su Huan’s earlier advice, she confined her ability within an extremely narrow range.

”Thump thump...”

Feeling the skin and strong heartbeat tightly pressed against her, she snapped back and asked in a small voice, ”What is it?”

Su Huan’s hand was tightly wrapped around the curve of her lower back, his voice low, ”It’s a... white evolution beast, very large.”

”A... is it a snake?”

”Yes.”

Su Huan swallowed his saliva, staring intently at the scene before him.

Under the clear moonlight, the entirely white giant snake spiraled around the water tower, its head towering half-story high in the air, its cold blue vertical pupils slowly contracting in the direction of the train’s movement.

Its tail, like a steel whip, unconsciously slapped against the tower body, dislodging large chunks of cement debris.

As the train moved, that cold glow grew more distant, and Su Huan’s tense muscles finally relaxed.

It seems the experience from his past life still worked in the early days of the apocalypse.

Evolution Beasts don’t leave their territory too far to chase prey into the city or zombie hordes.

However, the appearance of the White Snake still left him uneasy.

In his past life, he had heard of this snake’s name.

Because it emerged from Mojiang, survivors called it ”Mojiang” or ”White Snake Mojiang.”

This snake was discovered in Year Three of the apocalypse when it devoured a fourth-order zombie, and he never expected an attractant would lure it out.

This was something Su Huan had never anticipated.

After all, Mojiang spanned three provinces; who knew it was right beside Mojiang City?

Thankfully, he ran quickly.

The woman in his arms let out a slight, painful moan.

Su Huan snapped back, suddenly remembering something, and quickly released his grip, looking down.

The woman’s full waist and hips were already bruised from his grasp.

Auntie pursed her lips slightly with grievance, her eyes moist.

Su Huan was a bit embarrassed, but the words of apology were stuck in his throat. He tugged at the woman’s jeans, startling Yu Yue into gripping her pants tightly, her eyes full of panic.

However, Su Huan did nothing more than reveal the bruised skin.

He shook his hand and then placed it over the surface.

The chill induced a startled sound from Yu Yue, the two shakes were definitely insufficient for such rapid cooling.

Moreover, the carriage wasn’t cold.

It was consistently maintained around twenty-three degrees.
