Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 20: Chapter 19: Roar, No Breaking Through Defense

When they reached carriage number five, Su Huan suddenly stopped in his tracks, and unexpectedly looked up at the roof of the carriage.

Then he continued forward, and inside the dimly lit storage carriage, the sound of an engine operating could be heard.

Qi Xiaobai’s figure emerged from the darkness.

Seeing Su Huan, he gently shook his head, indicating that there was no danger.

Suddenly, a flurry of footsteps echoed from behind, and Su Huan turned around, seeing Wan Xing with a worried expression.

”There’s a zombie on the roof!”

Su Huan and Qi Xiaobai both looked up at once. There were two sounds in total, one was Wan Xing’s footsteps running inside the carriage, the other was the sound of scraping on the roof.

The thing had heard the sound and followed them.

But for a long time, there was no movement.

Su Huan stood sideways by the window and suddenly pulled open the curtain.

”Clang!”

A narrow, sharp claw suddenly stabbed towards the window, leaving a clear hole in the tempered glass, and the entire pane shattered into a white web around the hole, barely maintaining its shape.

Because the end of the claw was so thick, it got stuck in the anti-explosive netting!

Su Huan cursed in his heart, yet another piece of glass was broken.

This thing is harder to repair than if the steel plate was broken!

But through this claw, Su Huan could also tell what kind of creature it was, and he had made up his mind as he flashed to the front of the window.

A deformed, humanoid zombie was clawing at the window. Its two hands had transformed into three sharp talons, nearly half its body length.

The figure was as thin as a rake, but its ribcage was extremely prominent, bulging under the armpits like wings, with a row of eyes growing between each rib, nine on each side, eighteen in total.

At this moment, all were greedily staring at Su Huan.

Su Huan placed his hand on the metal edge of the window frame and sneered, ”Trying to board the train without a ticket?!”

Crackling arcs of electricity instantly flickered across the zombie’s body.

The zombie let out a low growl of pain.

No need for Su Huan to remind.

The outer steel plates of the train instantly extended countless steel spikes, piercing it ruthlessly.

”Tier One Zombie, Night Demon, high attack, low defense, lock it in the carriage and deal with it tomorrow,” Su Huan said coldly.

Qi Xiaobai’s eyes turned cold as steel balls, staring indifferently at the zombie outside the window.

Strands of steel wire rose from the train, tightly binding the Night Demon trying to pull its body off the spikes onto the train.

Only then did Su Huan stop the input of high-voltage electricity.

Without the control of rigidity, the Night Demon could only howl louder, with no room for struggle.

No matter how it swung its claws, it could only shower sparks on the train’s steel plates.

12mm+3mm of steel plate, not just him, even a Tier Two Night Demon couldn’t bite through such a tough dish!

As its vitality drained, the Night Demon gradually lost its ability to struggle, the scarlet in its eyes faded, turning into dead black.

Everything happened in a flash.

Wan Xing, who was frozen in place, only came over when he realized the situation had calmed down.

”I just wanted to remind you earlier...”

”It’s fine.”

Su Huan shook his head.

If it couldn’t ambush, a strong attack would do just the same, as long as this Night Demon couldn’t break the carriage armor, it would be killed by them sooner or later.

”Is there any situation in the back?” Su Huan turned to look at Qi Xiaobai.

”There was a bit of commotion at first, but then it was very quiet,” Qi Xiaobai said.

As they spoke, Yu Jing and her daughter also came over.

”Liang Kuan says a car light is broken, but other functions are intact, and the windows are undamaged, though your number three carriage window shows signs of damage, like something tried to get in but got stuck in the anti-explosive netting.”

Yu Jing reported.

Su Huan nodded, feeling a little relieved.

It seems the past few days weren’t in vain after all.

But with steel plates and anti-explosive netting protecting the front carriages, then...

Everyone thought of this issue and all turned their gazes to carriage number 7 simultaneously.

Qi Xiaobai reached out and sequentially unlocked a few doors.

The group entered the compartment bridge. It was very quiet here, with only the clatter of wheels.

Through the glass, some commotion could be heard in the opposite aisle.

”There’s a monster!”

”Everyone in the back must be dead.”

”Shut up, be quiet, I’m going to find Boss Su!”

”What’s the use of finding Boss Su, keep it down, don’t bring the monster in...”

Su Huan gently placed his hand on Qi Xiaobai’s shoulder, and the latter immediately unlocked the car door of carriage number 7.

Several workers looked over upon hearing the sound, frightened and shouting repeatedly.

”The door... the door is open!”

”Why the hell are you yelling? Go find Gao Zhe for me.” Su Huan said, picking his ears.

Upon hearing the voice, the nearby workers reacted, ”Boss Su, it’s Boss Su!”

”Boss Su, there’s a monster in the back!”

”Everyone shut up!” A deep, angry voice sounded, and Wang He squeezed out of the crowd.

Su Huan waved to stop him, directly asking, ”What’s happening in the back, why is everyone wailing?”

”A monster got into carriage ten and killed several zombies, I’m afraid everyone in the back is dead!”

Wang He’s voice feigned calmness but carried a slight tremor.

Su Huan frowned slightly, not moving an inch, ”Call Gao Zhe over.”

”I’m here, what do you want?” A clear voice rang out from the crowd.

The surrounding workers looked around, clearing a narrow path.

The carriage was too dim, even if Su Huan had excellent vision, he could barely make out a shadow.

But he didn’t need to see clearly, calmly saying, ”Go kill that Night Demon, bring back the body, and I’ll give you a permanent ticket.”

Gao Zhe’s eyes flickered; indeed, he knew quite a bit.

”This is your train. Why don’t you go? I have a three-month ticket, and that’s enough.”

Su Huan laughed coldly inside, planning to knock me out from behind once I get over there?

Do you think I don’t know that trick?

Only a fool would walk into a trap!

Su Huan’s tone carried an indifferent sarcasm, ”You can choose not to go, but the monster will eventually kill its way over from the back. Where else can you run?”

”Xiaobai, lock the door and let them think it through slowly.”

Finished speaking, ignoring the anxious calls from the workers behind, Su Huan and his group returned to the storage room.

”Really lock it?”

Qi Xiaobai asked.

”Of course.”

Su Huan turned on the storage room’s nightlight, seeing the young man sitting there with a faint look of reluctance on his face.

Seeing that look, he knew the young man’s saint complex was acting up.

This needed some good guidance.

Su Huan calmly said, ”Are you trying to say there are many innocent people back there?”

Qi Xiaobai nodded in agreement.

”But there are also many malicious people there.”

Su Huan crouched down to make sure his gaze was on par with Qi Xiaobai’s, speaking word by word, ”But before protecting others, you must ensure your own safety.”

”Now there are two ways to prevent their death. One is for us to deal with the Night Demon ourselves, but that means facing malicious people’s attacks.”

”The other is to force those with malicious intent to have no choice but to deal with the Night Demon, which ensures our safety and achieves the goal of protecting the majority.”

”So, what do you plan to choose?”
