Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Kicked by God

Su Huan quietly retreated, no longer paying attention to them, and knocked on the door of Yu Jing and her mother’s room.

Yu Jing stood at the door, glanced at the noisy sixth carriage, and asked softly, ”Do you want me to go with you?”

Su Huan wasn’t very tall, just over 1.8 meters, and could barely look down at the 1.67-meter-tall Yu Jing.

He slightly parted his lips, ”Come on.”

Su Huan turned and walked towards the front carriage.

Yu Jing quickly followed.

The number of high-class soft sleeper compartments was the same as the soft sleeper compartments, both were eight.

The difference was that each high-class soft sleeper had a large bed, occupied by one person, while the regular soft sleeper had four beds.

Su Huan pushed the door open, stepped over a fuel tank, and found a few tricky footholds among a heap of metal parts before finally sitting laboriously on his bed.

Looking down from the bed, there were all kinds of metal parts scattered all over the floor, wrenches of various lengths inserted into an iron barrel cut out from a fuel tank.

The carpet beneath his feet was also soaked in grease.

The edges of the rooms on both sides showed signs of violent cutting, indicating the compartments had been connected.

Su Huan looked up and saw Yu Jing frozen in place, squinting his eyes, ”Yu Shuo looks quite surprised?”

Yu Jing’s calm expression slightly changed, a sparkle appeared in her eyes.

”Where did you get this from?”

Su Huan said coldly, ”Whether you and your mother can stay depends on whether you can restore this motorcycle tonight.”

Yu Jing picked up the wheel at her feet, ignoring the grease that stained her short sleeves, ”Kawasaki Ninja H2, this is no motorcycle, you can call it a land aircraft.”

”14,000 RPM per minute, do you know what that means?”

Yu Jing suddenly turned her head, staring at him and asked.

Su Huan was momentarily stunned by her demeanor, then suspiciously said, ”What does it mean?”

In his previous life, he had ridden many motorcycles, but they were all common ones. This one was only ridden back because of its particularly attractive design.

He really didn’t know the brand or specs.

He didn’t expect Yu Jing to recognize it at a glance.

”When you twist the throttle all the way, it’s like being kicked by God.”

Su Huan furrowed his brow, ”Just tell me if you can restore it.”

”No problem!”

Yu Jing immediately agreed, then started searching for handy tools in the oil barrel, appearing even more eager than Su Huan.

Su Huan said nothing, took out a log, and began to observe Yu Jing.

At first, her style was still normal.

”Where’s the rear suspension?”

”Behind the board on your left front.”

”Where’s the piston caliper?”

”It should be... probably under the piece by your foot.”

”It’s not here.”

”Maybe you should look again?”

Half an hour later, her style gradually became erratic.

”I can’t believe someone violently dismantled this kind of bike and even scratched the paint.”

”Such a waste!”

”What a bastard!”

Su Huan, who was helping on the side, watched Yu Jing biting her lip, muttering curses while repairing the bike with a changing expression.

If it weren’t for her great skill and the enticing figure outlined by her jeans, Su Huan would have strangled her already.

”Hand me a wrench.”

”This one?”

”No, the other one.”

”This one...?”

”Not this one, it’s the one I just used!”

”Forget it, I’ll do it myself!”

Su Huan glanced at the four or five wrenches Yu Jing had just touched, the corner of his mouth twitching.

This woman, who knows if she’s genuine or just pretending.

Before picking up the wrench, she felt like a high-quality scientific researcher; now, she was like a spicy little repair girl from his past wasteland repair factory days.

Her mouth babbling non-stop.

But the results were impressive; she managed to restore three or four of the components he had messily disassembled.

This wasn’t just finding a treasure; it was discovering a gold mine.

While Yu Jing didn’t summon him, Su Huan pulled out his little notebook, ticking off ”repair talent” on the armed train plan page.

Soon he would find Master Eight again.

The first phase of the armed train could officially start!

...

”December 17, early winter, temperature 24°C—”

The temperature rose by another degree. It seemed like there was still plenty of time before the deadline, but that was just the slow initial warming.

Last night Su Huan stared for a few hours and found that Yu Jing indeed had genuine talent, so he went next door to sleep.

Of course, not wanting to be grumbled at face-to-face was also a major factor.

...

Clang—— Clang——

The train slowly glided out of the tunnel, then paused at a suburban area of Wen’an City.

Looking around, there were lush, green mountains everywhere, and various industrial modern buildings dotted the valleys. The train stretched across the railway like a sunbathing green-skinned iron serpent.

Aside from the noisy zombies being transported on the train, everything seemed perfect.

The carriage door opened, and Su Huan stood at the doorway, holding a long wrench, surveying the surroundings.

He casually tapped on the iron door a couple of times.

The piercing clang sound spread out.

The zombies on the train became even more excited, but after waiting a long time, only one half-dead one crawled out from under the train.

Its white shirt was worn to shreds, blood and mud mingled grotesquely together, and half its face was missing.

”You don’t look like a local either.”

Su Huan jumped down and smacked it on the back of the head with a wrench.

With a bang, the zombie was silenced.

”Ding!”

”Today’s kill plus one!”

Su Huan mimicked a mechanical voice and chuckled grimly.

He didn’t have a system, and killing zombies didn’t bring any immediate rewards, but in life, one must find amusement.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have survived four years.

Liang Kuan calmly followed with a fire axe in hand.

Clearly, he was long used to Su Huan’s odd behavior.

The two went to the rear carriages, cautiously keeping away from under the train, seeing nothing spooky emerging, Liang Kuan went forward to open the door.

As it was an old-style observation train, the door lacked electronic linkage or speed-sensing locks, relying on mechanical structure.

Mainly dependent on manual operation.

The door was pulled open by Liang Kuan, revealing weary and tense faces inside, which turned to fear and loathing at the sight of Su Huan.

”Time to work, time to work, everyone out.”

Su Huan maintained the basic professionalism of a smiling service.

Seeing no immediate danger, people slowly emerged, gathering on the open ground.

Su Huan ignored the resentful and fearful looks, clapped his hands, and familiarly said, ”The usual rules, bring back three portions of food and water, and one portion of medicine, and you can board the train. Today’s special ticket is tools; any electric drills, chainsaws, anything useful for mechanical repairs can offset a ticket.”

Many people’s expressions changed.

But they dared not refuse and only whispered in the crowd.

”It used to be just three portions of food and water, why add medicine today?”

”It’s hard enough avoiding zombies... where to find enough food?”

A young man in a hooded sweater glanced at Su Huan, then silently left the group to start exploring outside.
