Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 9: Chapter 8: Welcome to the Apocalypse

”Right, it’s dog-eat-dog, mutually destructive!”

Someone nearby muttered angrily.

Behind the crowd, an old man focused intently on the situation outside, whispered to the person next to him, ”What do you think?”

Gao Zhe furrowed his brows, ”Those mutant dogs are strong, capable of easily pouncing on ordinary zombies, and they’re keen-scented. Last time I was scavenging for supplies, I was nearly detected by one and had to run three kilometers to shake it off. But Su Huan’s powers are quite strange, so I’m not sure.”

The old man looked serious, ”You can’t handle that mutant dog either?”

Gao Zhe squinted his eyes, ”It depends on the environment and timing. In a narrow space like this, I’d only have a thirty percent chance.”

”A thirty percent chance to take it down, that’s not bad.”

The old man breathed a sigh of relief, muttering to himself.

Gao Zhe coughed lightly, ”Thirty percent chance to survive.”

”...”

The blood dog, unable to break the window for the time being, kicked off and suddenly darted towards the door.

Its mouth full of fangs, ferociously exposed!

But what it faced were Su Huan’s cold eyes and his raised forefinger.

”Bang!”

The blood dog was knocked back.

After a moment, the blood dog shook its head and staggered to its feet, its entire lower jaw battered and bloody, yet it seemed even more hideous and terrifying.

”Roar...howl!”

Pain stripped away what remained of its beastly instincts, and its hysterical howls were unnerving.

It charged madly at the train.

”Bang!”

Su Huan twitched at the dent in the outer wall of the train car.

That was 3mm steel plate!

The sound drew Yu Jing and her daughter from the front car.

Liang Kuan grabbed an axe, ready to step forward, but was stopped by Su Huan from behind.

”Don’t go over there, back up!”

Su Huan said calmly.

”Bang bang—crash”

The carriage vibrated violently.

Looking at the blood dog squeezing onto the train, Su Huan’s lips curled up; he couldn’t handle the creature below the train, with its tenacious vitality and fierce attacks.

But on the train, this was his home ground.

...

”Boom——”

The massive body of the blood dog flew back and crashed into the door, shattering glass, twisting the door, and spraying blood mixed with glass shards backward.

”Crash”

The noise paused for a moment, followed by the blood dog’s agonized wails.

These Evolution Beasts had extremely tenacious life force, capable of struggling for a while even with fatal injuries.

A boy in a wheelchair stared at Su Huan, who was facing the blood dog alone in the corridor, with a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.

Because of his disability, he had seen many vile people, but none as bad as the past few days since the apocalypse.

Fear, greed, desire, rage...

Only from Su Huan could he see something slightly different.

Qi Xiaobai raised a hand.

The twisted metal doorframes, rammed by the blood dog, came alive like pythons, creaking as they wrapped around the struggling blood dog.

”I can’t hold on much longer, you...” Qi Xiaobai said.

Looking at the familiar metal vines, Su Huan’s mouth lifted, a cold blue arc of electricity extended from the steel plate of his shoe sole, directly striking the struggling blood dog along the metal vines.

Taking advantage of its rigid state, he raised his finger.

”Bang!”

The blood dog’s head snapped backward.

Severely damaged.

Qi Xiaobai was stunned, for some reason, he had an illusion that the two had coordinated many times before, needing no words to achieve perfect harmony.

”Phew...”

Su Huan exhaled deeply; though he had only been busy for a short while, his clothes were already soaked in sweat.

He turned around and cast an appreciative look towards Qi Xiaobai in the wheelchair, ”Su Huan.”

Qi Xiaobai hesitated for a moment, then shyly said, ”Qi Xiaobai.”

Su Huan broke into an exaggerated smile, ”Welcome to the apocalypse, Xiaoba.”

...

Passengers, splashed with the dog’s blood, widened their eyes.

They didn’t expect that vicious blood dog to be so easily dealt with by Su Huan.

Looking at the deformed train car door rammed by the blood dog, the previously restless thoughts of the crowd were instantly silenced.

This damn place, just work honestly for the conductor.

Gao Zhe and the old man were equally silent.

”What kind of Evolver is he?”

There was a flash of unwillingness in Gao Zhe’s eyes.

Previously, he thought that after becoming an Evolver himself, he could easily overthrow Su Huan’s rule, but only realized today the enormous gap between them!

A stark contrast like clouds and mud!

The blood dog, whether in strength or speed, was far beyond him.

But facing Su Huan’s mysterious methods, it couldn’t even counterattack.

How could there be such a big difference between those who awakened abilities!

The old man beside him sighed, patting his shoulder, ”Don’t be rash, endure a little longer, figure out Su Huan’s abilities, and don’t startle the snake.”

Gao Zhe gritted his teeth, pulling down his hooded shirt, ”I understand.”

...

Liang Kuan approached, still somewhat fearful, ”What was that thing, fiercer than a bear?”

”A blood dog, evolved from an ordinary wild dog, much tougher than a bear. I hit it with all my strength so many times, and it still struggled for so long.”

Su Huan squinted, saying, his smile fading.

This little episode served as a wake-up call, with his current power, seeking invincibility in the early apocalypse was still challenging.

To avoid a mishap in unseen places, he had to rely on the advantage of his rebirth to accumulate strength.

At this stage, a ”Power Supplier” facing such Evolution Beasts was still too weak.

The armored train plan needed to accelerate, and personal evolution must advance onto the agenda quickly.

Gathering his thoughts, Su Huan stood up, ”Check yourself for any injuries, at this stage the mutation probability has reduced significantly, but the incubation period has lengthened.”

”Of course, Evolvers are an exception.”

Su Huan directed the last sentence at Qi Xiaobai.

Qi Xiaobai’s eyes suddenly lit up, ”Why?”

”Because Evolvers are equivalent to successful evolution, having passed that mutation stage.”

Yu Jing, beside him, seemed thoughtful.

”Is there a way to become an Evolver?” Qi Xiaobai immediately asked.

Su Huan suspiciously glanced at him, then looked at the nervous woman behind him, squinting, ”How long have you been infected?”

The woman opened her mouth, somewhat hesitating.

Qi Xiaobai quickly said, ”About an hour.”

”Good, there’s a chance, all of you wait in the dining car, Xiaoba you patch up the hole in car six first.”

Su Huan said.

Qi Xiaobai turned back to comfort, ”Sister Xingzi, you go ahead.”

Once the others left, the hopeful glow in Xiaoba’s eyes calmed down, he said earnestly, ”If Sister Xingzi survives, consider it me owing you a life.”

’As expected of Master Eight, straightforward!’

The corner of Su Huan’s mouth curved.

But his face remained calm, ”I never said a hundred percent, just there’s a chance.”
