Urban Martial Saint

Seeing Ye Qing coming up, Black Bear immediately walked over and said, ”Captain.”

Li Bing’en still had that silly grin, looking completely dim-witted, standing beside them and laughing foolishly.

Ye Qing glanced at Li Bing’en, then at Black Bear, and asked curiously, ”How do you two communicate when training martial arts?”

”Didn’t talk at all,” Black Bear said, ”I was practicing martial arts here, he just watched from the side, then suddenly came over and fought me. I couldn’t beat him, then he demonstrated the moves, I guessed his intention was to let me follow his practice, so that’s how we started practicing.”

Ye Qing was even more surprised, took another look at Li Bing’en, who was still laughing foolishly, seemingly oblivious to what was happening.

Seeing him like this, Ye Qing was increasingly puzzled. Li Bing’en had a head injury as a child, which left him in a somewhat silly state. However, since Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun could teach him to practice such profound martial arts, it shows he’s not completely ignorant of everything. Perhaps the martial arts he’s teaching Black Bear are the methods taught to him by Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun.

Actually, Ye Qing was quite happy about them training martial arts here; originally, Black Bear’s Bajiquan was taught by Ye Qing. However, Ye Qing was always busy and couldn’t be sure when he could teach him a few moves. Fortunately, Li Bing’en was proficient in Li Style Bajiquan and could teach Black Bear according to Shen Tianjun’s methods, which was also a good thing, saving Ye Qing a lot of trouble.

Ye Qing nodded and said, ”Bing’en’s Bajiquan is very strong; study well with him, and I’m sure you’ll succeed in mastering it!”

”Got it!” Black Bear nodded decisively; actually, he’s quite simple-minded, stubborn in doing things. Being with Li Bing’en, he didn’t need to think much and felt quite comfortable, so he was happy to follow Li Bing’en in martial arts training.

Ye Qing initially intended to come up and practice martial arts, but seeing Black Bear and Li Bing’en here training, he watched from the side for a while. Li Bing’en’s teaching method was indeed different from normal; every move was demonstrated personally on Black Bear, perhaps that’s how Southern Fist King Shen Tianjun taught him.

With these demonstrations, Black Bear learned quickly, producing a very standard Bajiquan. At this rate, it wouldn’t be long before he mastered the set of Bajiquan. However, the key to this boxing technique lies in the force; cultivating the force would require time accumulation. Moreover, Black Bear has passed the age to practice Inner Strength, therefore, no matter how well he practices Bajiquan, it would always remain an External Kung Fu, unable to reach the highest level.

Ye Qing watched for a while before receiving a call from Su Kaicheng, informing Ye Qing that they were approaching Shenchuan City.

Ye Qing had long known about the inspection team’s visit from the Capital and had been waiting. Now that Su Kaicheng called, Ye Qing couldn’t attend to anything else, and quickly went out to welcome Su Kaicheng. Of course, he also notified the orphanage, letting them prepare for reception.

Here, Black Bear and Li Bing’en finished practicing a set of Bajiquan, and Li Bing’en immediately clapped his hands, giggling while pointing at Black Bear.

”Like this again?” Black Bear scratched his head with an unwilling expression, saying, ”What is this practice? It’s very uncomfortable.”

Li Bing’en still had that silly look, just giggling and pointing at Black Bear, without speaking.

Black Bear, helpless, could only sit cross-legged, with his hands resting near the Dantian, as though adjusting his breath.

Li Bing’en approached Black Bear, watching him from left to right for a while, then suddenly pressed his hand on Black Bear’s head, the purpose unclear. After a while, Black Bear was trembling all over, his forehead drenched in sweat, seemingly in immense pain, almost unable to endure.

However, Black Bear’s endurance was extremely strong. Despite the intense pain, he gritted his teeth in persistent endurance, while Li Bing’en showed no sign of stopping; the two continued like this for about an hour until Li Bing’en lifted his hand, staggered backward as if overly exerted.

When they looked at Black Bear again, his clothes were soaked with sweat, despite the difficulty of enduring the earlier pain. Yet, after Li Bing’en lifted his hand, Black Bear felt a kind of unspeakable comfort throughout his body, much to his surprise.

”What exactly was that just now?” Black Bear got up and looked at Li Bing’en, asking curiously, ”Why do I feel some kind of warm flow running wildly inside me?”

”Hehe...” Li Bing’en giggled foolishly and waved his hand at Black Bear, muttering two words: ”Don’t tell...”

”I know, I won’t say it to anyone else. But at least you should let me know what was that exactly,” Black Bear asked curiously, ”Is this also considered training?”

”Hehe...” Li Bing’en just smiled foolishly, without explaining to Black Bear, and slowly descended the stairs.

Black Bear was full of confusion; of course, he couldn’t understand the mind of a fool. He could only follow Li Bing’en downstairs.

If Ye Qing were here to see this scene, he would certainly be very surprised. Unfortunately, Ye Qing had already left this place, so he naturally didn’t know that the fool teaching Black Bear martial arts was not just about teaching the moves of Bajiquan.

Ye Qing went straight to the airport to pick up Su Kaicheng and the others. Who knew, before he even reached the airport, he received a call from Wu Yian at the orphanage, informing him that Su Kaicheng and the others had already arrived at the orphanage.

Ye Qing slapped his forehead—of course, wasn’t it obvious? Su Kaicheng had called him earlier, which meant Su Kaicheng must have already deplaned; otherwise, how could his phone be on? By now, Su Kaicheng and the others must have long arrived at the orphanage. It would obviously be pointless to head to the airport now.

Ye Qing hurriedly drove to the orphanage, and upon arriving, he happened to see Wu Yian and Su Kaicheng outside the orphanage, accompanying a group of people in a discussion. One person had a blueprint in hand, speaking to those nearby, while Wu Yian and Su Kaicheng stood by, nodding continuously. Wu Yian, in particular, had a look of delight on his face, though Ye Qing did not know what had happened.

Ye Qing quickly approached, and upon seeing him, Wu Yian excitedly said, ”Excuse me, leaders, let me interrupt briefly. This is the founder of our orphanage, Mr. Ye Qing!”

Everyone turned to look at Ye Qing, and Su Kaicheng came over to greet him first. Since Ye Qing had saved Su Kaicheng’s sister in the Capital last time, their relationship had become very close, with Su Kaicheng completely treating Ye Qing as a friend.

”Ye Zi, I’ve been to this orphanage more than once now. Every time I come, there are new changes. You’ve really done a great job!” Su Kaicheng patted Ye Qing on the shoulder and then introduced the others to him.

It was quite a shock to hear. The people accompanying Su Kaicheng were all of significant rank, with the highest being some deputy minister, comparable to a provincial-level official, yet they had come to the orphanage, leaving Ye Qing feeling quite flattered.

After exchanging pleasantries with these people, Su Kaicheng directly said, ”Ye Zi, the orphanage has now been officially approved by the state. From now on, your orphanage will be Huaxia’s first private orphanage, an innovation and attempt by Huaxia in this field. These leaders have come at their full capacity to help with the orphanage’s construction, so if you have any needs, please just say them, and we will fully support you in accomplishing them!”

”Needs, well... there really aren’t any...” Ye Qing felt quite excited internally and said, ”The key is to give the children a place to stay, so they don’t have to wander outside.”

”See, see, what did I say?” Su Kaicheng turned and smiled, ”Helping these children is truly out of kindness, without a bit of selfishness, right?”

The people behind him couldn’t help but laugh, and the deputy minister nodded in satisfaction, saying, ”Mr. Ye is right, everything is for the children. Well, Mr. Ye, give it some thought, and if there’s anything you need, just say the word. We’ll definitely do our utmost to help you!”

”This...” Ye Qing scratched his head, truly at a loss for words. After all, for him, managing to establish the orphanage initially had already been quite extravagant. Now that it was approved, what other thoughts could he have?

Su Kaicheng, understanding Ye Qing’s character, immediately said when Ye Qing didn’t speak, ”How about this, Ye Zi, why don’t you listen to what Li Gong has to say and give some of your suggestions for reference. What do you think?”

Su Kaicheng referred to Li Gong, the person holding the blueprint who had come with them. He appeared to be in his thirties or forties, wearing thick glasses, looking very scholarly—a clear researcher type. His last name was Li, and he was an engineer, hence everyone called him Li Gong.

”Alright.” Ye Qing nodded in response, though he couldn’t quite understand why Su Kaicheng would bring an engineer with him.

After receiving Su Kaicheng’s approval, Li Gong unfolded his blueprint again. Ye Qing glanced at it; the blueprint was of the orphanage and the surrounding terrain, indicating they had prepared thoroughly before coming.

Unfolding the blueprint, Li Gong took a red pen from his pocket and circled all the buildings of the Ye Qing Orphanage in the middle, writing a large ”demolish” character in the center.

”Huh?” Ye Qing was immediately stunned and said, ”What does this ’demolish’ mean?”

Li Gong replied, ”It means to tear down everything!”

”Huh?” Ye Qing was even more shocked and said, ”Tear down everything? Then... where would the children live? Besides, my building only went up so recently, how can you just say to demolish it?”

Ye Qing said this, also giving Su Kaicheng a glance, questioning him with his eyes about what was going on. Are you all here to help build the orphanage or to demolish it?
