Urban Martial Saint

Old Wang Ba had the Fatty steal Ye Qing’s Seven-Star Ancient Sword, which really bewildered Ye Qing. It’s important to know that Old Wang Ba was definitely on Ye Qing’s side—how could he let someone steal Ye Qing’s belongings?

Moreover, the Seven-Star Ancient Sword was personally delivered to Ye Qing by Old Wang Ba just a few days ago. If he wanted the sword back, he wouldn’t have had to send it in the first place. So, Ye Qing suspected that Old Wang Ba must have some other motive.

The Fatty thought for a moment and said, ”That old bastard told me to tell you that if you don’t withdraw whatever arrest warrant you’ve issued, he’ll figure out a way to take your Seven-Star Ancient Sword.”

”Pfft.” Ye Qing nearly spat blood. So Old Wang Ba had stirred up so much trouble just to make him withdraw the arrest warrant.

”He’s dreaming!” Ye Qing smirked in annoyance; he was determined that until he found Huangfu Ziyu, there was no way Old Wang Ba’s arrest warrant would be canceled.

”Dreaming of what?” The Fatty gave Ye Qing a puzzled look and asked, ”By the way, what was the deal with that arrest warrant the old bastard was talking about? Who’s the wanted criminal?”

”It has to be him!” Ye Qing replied.

”Really?” The Fatty perked up and said, ”You know what, when I saw him I thought something was off. That old guy [...] when we were eating, always faced the door but covered half his face with one hand like a thief – extremely guilty-looking. When a police car drove by, he dashed to the bathroom to hide. I suspected then that this old bastard was up to something. I didn’t expect him to actually be a wanted criminal. What did he do?”

Ye Qing said, ”Blabbermouth!”

”Huh? Can you be wanted for being a blabbermouth?” The Fatty’s eyes widened, ”Is there a law like that? How come I never knew?”

Ye Qing was nearly at his wit’s end—is this Fatty for real?

”Of course there’s no such law.” Ye Qing said, ”That old bastard is wanted mainly because he’s duped too many people!”

”Oh, I see. I thought so. If blabbering were a crime, I know a guy who would have been executed a dozen times over.” The Fatty suddenly understood, nodding repeatedly, ”Now that you mention it, I totally get it. I swear, there’s not a truthful word out of that old bastard’s mouth. Of ten things he says, if even a period mark is true, that’s quite honest of him.”

Ye Qing thought about it; the Fatty’s words really did fit Old Wang Ba’s character to a tee.

At this point, neither of them had anything more to say, and the room fell silent for a moment. The two of them just looked at each other until the Fatty suddenly said, ”If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way first!”

Ye Qing initially intended to let the Fatty go, but hearing him say that put him in a bad mood.

What the hell, this guy gets caught stealing and shows no remorse, and now he just wants to leave? What a joke!

”No way!” Ye Qing immediately said, ”You steal from me and think you can just leave?”

”So what do you want?” The Fatty looked up and down at Ye Qing, ”Hey man, you’re not thinking of keeping me here, are you? Don’t judge me by my size—I may look fat, but it’s mostly muscle. If it comes to a fight, I could sit on you and crush two of you.”

Ye Qing immediately laughed, raised one hand, and said, ”Then I must try it out. Come on, let’s have a fight?”

”Man, I really admire you!” The Fatty gave Ye Qing a thumbs up and said, ”You know full well you’ll get beaten up and hurt, yet you still have the courage to challenge me. Say what you will about anything else—your spirit, I truly admire!”

Saying that, the Fatty placed the Seven-Star Ancient Sword to the side, ”Do me a favor and step back while I take off my coat and stretch a bit. Keep your distance, or you might get hurt by the shock!”

Seeing the Fatty’s clumsy manner, Ye Qing was at a loss for words, stepping back a few paces while watching the Fatty remove his coat and swing his arms and legs a few times. Suddenly, the Fatty flung the coat directly at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing hadn’t expected this move from the Fatty and quickly reached out to catch the coat. However, the Fatty seized the opportunity, slipping quickly to the door and stretching his hand to open it. But, he underestimated Ye Qing’s reflexes and speed. Just as he cracked the door open, a hand already gripped his collar, lifting him off the ground and flinging him straight onto the floor behind.

Fortunately, there was carpeting on the floor, so the impact of the Fatty’s landing didn’t make much noise, but it did leave him grimacing.

”Can you be a bit gentler?” The fat man stood up with a grin, looking at Ye Qing in astonishment, and said, ”Buddy, what did you eat growing up, how come you’re so strong?”

”Cut the crap!” Ye Qing blocked the door and said, ”How do you explain stealing my stuff?”

”Your stuff isn’t even missing, what do you want me to do?” the fat man said helplessly, ”Let me tell you, I came out without money. You can’t call the police, or you’ll get arrested too. What do you want me to do, offer myself up as compensation?”

”Scram!” Looking at the fat man’s face, Ye Qing really wanted to kick him. Saying stuff like offering himself as compensation was just asking for a beating.

”See, you don’t want that, so what are you keeping me here for?” the fat man said, ”Come on, we’re all tired, let’s get some rest, alright? Anyway, I didn’t steal your stuff, why not just pretend nothing happened between us. How about this, I’ll never steal from you again, how does that sound?”

”You’re talking like you actually have the ability to steal my stuff!” Ye Qing glared and said.

The fat man immediately said, ”Hey, if I can’t steal from the living, can’t I steal from the dead? I’m not a professional in stealing from the living, but I’m definitely a pro in tomb-robbing!”

Ye Qing was speechless and said, ”You’re talking like you’re going to live longer than me.”

”Hehehe...” The fat man chuckled and said, ”People say a wide heart leads to a long life, and my heart is as vast as the sea, so I’ll surely live long. So you better not mess with Fat Lord, or else when you kick the bucket, I’ll dig up your bones, burn them, and toss them in the sea.”

”I &$amp;%#...” Ye Qing really wanted to kick this fat guy into the air; he had never seen anyone like this before.

”Really, if there’s nothing else, Fat Lord will be on his way!” The fat man stood up and limped toward the door.

Watching the fat man like this, Ye Qing was really unsure whether to stop him or not. In the past, catching a thief would definitely mean calling the police on them. But now the key issue is, Ye Qing is currently in Liaoshen City, preparing to deal with Li Changyuan, and he doesn’t want to raise suspicion. If he called the police, the Seven-Star Ancient Sword might be discovered, and it might alert Li Changyuan that he’s in town, possibly even making him cautious. So, Ye Qing really couldn’t call the police now and could only let the fat man go.

Just as the fat man was about to reach the door, Ye Qing suddenly asked, ”What’s your name?”

The fat man casually said, ”My surname is Wang, known in Jianghu as Handsome Fatty Wang.”

Ye Qing was completely speechless, guessing that Handsome Fatty Wang must be a nickname the fat guy came up with himself. With his looks, how on earth could he be associated with being handsome?

As he watched Handsome Fatty Wang leave, Ye Qing couldn’t shake a feeling, that there was definitely something special about him. Otherwise, why would Old Wang Ba let him come to steal his Seven-Star Ancient Sword? Though Old Wang Ba is shady and boring, he wouldn’t go to this extent out of mere boredom. What was Old Wang Ba’s real purpose in sending Handsome Fatty Wang over?

Although Handsome Fatty Wang left, Ye Qing did not dare to be careless. He put the Seven-Star Ancient Sword back into its box and carried it with him as he rested in the room for the night, regaining energy in preparation for Ao Yangrong’s visit to the Li Family the next day.

Early the next morning, Ye Qing woke up and called the fat man in the next room. Ye Qing also learned the fat man’s name; he was called Ou Zhengping, a local thug born and raised in Liaoshen City.

In the past, the areas around Liaoshen City were complex with local forces, and various bosses were everywhere. Although Ou Zhengping wasn’t a big figure in Liaoshen City, he managed a territory and lived a leisurely life.

However, after Li Changyuan took over the financial power of the Li Family, he essentially took over a lot of authority from the Li Family. He led the Li Family and crushed all the underground forces in Liaoshen City, reorganizing them, turning Liaoshen into what it is today.

Even though Li Changyuan didn’t show up openly, he secretly controlled the entire Liaoshen City’s underground forces. Local thugs in Liaoshen City were all afraid to speak against Li Changyuan. There’s nothing they can do, Li Changyuan’s men are all masters from the Li Family, Martial Artists, and they aren’t something they can contend with. So Li Changyuan completely controlled the underground forces in Liaoshen City.

Later, Li Changyuan gradually started cooperating with Northern Martial Zen, getting into the drug business. Before, he wasn’t blatant about it, but as his forces grew more powerful over the last two years, and Li Changshan’s status in the family kept declining, he became somewhat inflated, even setting up two casinos within the Li Family Courtyard.

However, no one in the Li Family said he was wrong for doing this because the two casinos brought tangible benefits to everyone in the Li Family. The money the casinos made every month was all used for the living expenses of the Li Family members. So, not only did they not think Li Changyuan was wrong for opening the casinos in the Li Family, but they all supported him, recognizing Li Changyuan even more.

Ou Zhengping was quite familiar with the Li Family’s situation, and he shared a lot with Ye Qing about it. Actually, Li Changshan was capable of managing the Li Family before. Ever since Li Changyuan started managing the Li Family’s finances, Li Changshan gradually lost control over the Li Family. So, many people have been saying that Li Changshan’s biggest mistake was handing the power over to Li Changyuan, resulting in him losing his authority.

”Actually, Li Changshan didn’t have to hand the financial power over to Li Changyuan,” Ou Zhengping sighed and said, ”At the time, there wasn’t much issue with the Li Family’s finances; they had tens of millions of revenue annually, which was more than enough for a family like that.”
