Urban Martial Saint

Brahmanism has always circulated the saying of the reincarnation of the True Buddha from the beginning to the end.

Before each generation of the True Buddha enters nirvana, a reincarnated child always appears in advance. This reincarnated child is said to have inherited the soul of the True Buddha, born with Wisdom Root and Buddha Nature, capable of carrying all the Buddhist Doctrine of the previous True Buddha and can succeed the position of the previous True Buddha, becoming the new True Buddha.

Beneath Brahmanism, there are many religious districts, and actually, there is also competition between each district. If a True Buddha is born from one of these districts, it will be a great honor for that district, significantly boosting its reputation, thus leading to an increase in followers.

Therefore, everyone in each district desires for the True Buddha to appear in their own district. The reason for their argument is precisely because of this.

However, distinguishing the reincarnated True Buddha is not just about having Buddha Nature. Firstly, after the previous True Buddha enters nirvana, protectors of the Dharma will divinate the direction of the reincarnated True Buddha, and then people will look for the reincarnated True Buddha based on this direction. Furthermore, before the previous True Buddha enters nirvana, they will leave half a verse, and only those who can match this verse are the real reincarnated True Buddha.

Therefore, the people of these districts are here waiting, waiting for the True Buddha to leave a verse, to confirm whether the people from their district are the reincarnated True Buddha.

Before the True Buddha enters nirvana, they will accurately state the time of their nirvana. They have been waiting here for a long time, waiting for the True Buddha to utter that verse. However, even until now, the True Buddha has not spoken, and seeing the time getting closer, everyone is very anxious at heart.

However, even though they are anxious, they dare not show any disrespect towards the True Buddha. Although these people all want someone from their district to become the real reincarnated True Buddha, even if it is someone from another district, they will comply unconditionally. This is the distinctiveness of Brahmanism.

Although everyone argues continuously, they clearly know that such arguments will not lead to any result. So, after a brief argument, everyone stopped again. It’s just that this time, more people were looking towards the direction of the main hall’s entrance.

The True Buddha has to wait for the return of the Purple-robed Elder to utter that verse. But where exactly has the Purple-robed Elder gone? The True Buddha is about to enter nirvana, and as the Guardian of the Faith Elder, how can the Purple Robe Lama not be in the Zhashi Palace?

Although there are some murmurs in their hearts, no one dares to express them. In Brahmanism, the reputation of the Purple Robe Lama is not much lower than that of the True Buddha. The Purple Robe Lama has devoted his life to studying Buddhism and has accompanied two generations of True Buddhas. If he finds the new reincarnated True Buddha, he will have accompanied three generations of True Buddhas, making him a person of absolute high status in Brahmanism. Who dares to express any dissatisfaction towards him?

Inside Zhashi Palace, everyone waits anxiously. Meanwhile, thirty kilometers outside Zhashi Palace, a family of herders huddles together, trembling. In front of them are eight fierce-looking big men. Each of them is carrying a weapon; it’s clear they’re not good people, and it’s obvious what the situation in this room is.

Near Zhashi Palace, as this place is close to the border, there are often some criminals who sneak over here. Therefore, chaos is frequent in this area. Just like this family of herders, they’ve been surrounded by these border-crossing bandits. These people have been hungry and on the run for days, finally catching this family of herders and rushing in to steal some things, only to be discovered, and now they intend to kill them to silence them.

Near Zhashi Palace, such things rarely happen because this is the residence of the True Buddha, and many people pass by, making it unlikely for someone to cause trouble here. These eight people have never been here before, so they were foolish enough to cause trouble. However, it’s uncertain whether it’s their luck or the misfortune of the herders that, on the occasion of the True Buddha entering nirvana—a major event for Zhashi Palace—few people were passing by, allowing these eight to find an opportunity.

”Old man, your two daughters are pretty good-looking. The brothers have been on the run for days without even seeing a female mosquito. Maybe it’s time to have some fun now!” The leading bandit sneers, waving his hand, ”Go, catch his two daughters. Tonight, the brothers will have a good time.”

”Got it!” Immediately, three people run over and grab the herder’s two daughters.

The two girls scream and struggle desperately, but after all, they are just girls and are no match for these big men, forcibly being dragged over. The herder, enraged, draws a dagger from his waist and charges forward, but the leading man kicks him back directly.

”Really, trying to play with a knife?” The leading man glances coldly, ”******, we used to be discharged soldiers before; you old fool, when it comes to playing with knives, we can do it better with our feet!”

”Let go of my daughters!” The herder struggles to stand up, roaring, ”The True Buddha will punish you!”

”What bullshit True Buddha, I think you Brahmanism people are just idle. You can’t do anything yourselves and hope for some bullshit True Buddha. What use is that!” The leading man sneers, ”Go, kill these guys first, and don’t ruin my mood with your noise!”

Immediately, two men with daggers advance towards the herder’s family, while the herder’s wife and young son tremble with fear, unable to resist in the slightest.

”Don’t move them!” The herder shouts, jumping up and shielding his wife and child.

”Old man, sick of living!” One of the men curses angrily, raising his dagger to stab at the herder’s chest.

At this critical moment, a deep Buddha chant suddenly resounds: ”Amitabha!”

The voice was low, but in everyone’s ears, it sounded like a thunderous explosion, echoing around them. The eight bandits didn’t even have time to cover their ears before the sound made their eardrums buzz. One of them even fell directly to the ground in shock. The man who was holding a dagger, ready to commit a crime, dropped it, swaying as if he were drunk.

However, strangely, though the Buddha’s voice nearly deafened the eight bandits, the family of herders was not affected at all. The herder even widened his eyes in excitement and exclaimed, ”The True Buddha has manifested, the True Buddha has manifested!”

The herder’s family was all excited; having lived near the Zhashi Palace for a long time, they had absolute reverence for the True Buddha and believed he would protect them anytime. Now, facing danger, the True Buddha really manifested. How could they not be thrilled?

”What’s going on? What’s happening?” the leading bandit looked around hastily, finding nothing, trembling even more. The sound just now was louder than a tiger’s roar or dragon’s cry, enough to instill fear in an average person.

”This... this is creepy...” someone whispered.

”How about... maybe we should leave?” another said, the one who had just fallen to the ground in fright.

The leading bandit was terrified himself; he had never encountered such events and even thought the True Buddha had appeared. He hesitated a moment, then quickly turned and ran outside.

Seeing him run out, the other seven bandits rushed towards the door, not wanting to fall behind. After all, what just happened was too eerie.

However, before the seven bandits could reach the door, the leader who had just run out suddenly flew back inside, knocking the three at the front to the ground.

The remaining four, who hadn’t reached the door, were even more shocked by this. ”What happened? What happened?” they urgently asked.

Everyone quickly looked at the leader, who spat a mouthful of blood and trembled as he said, ”Purple... purple clothes...”

”What purple clothes?” everyone asked in unison, curious.

But moments later, they knew what he meant by ”purple clothes” because a lama dressed in a purple robe just walked in through the door.

This lama was of average height, with a long, thin face, and a string of large prayer beads hanging from his chest. Each bead appeared as large as a lychee, purple, translucent, and exceptionally eye-catching.

Seeing this lama, the herdsmen inside were first stunned, then hurriedly knelt, all shouting in unison, ”Purple-robed Elder!”

There were many lamas near Zhashi Palace, but only one wore all-purple and carried purple beads, the Purple Robe Lama of the Western Frontier.

This lama was one of the Five Unmatches of the World, the Guardian of the Faith Elder of Brahmanism, and the one whom Cui Yulong had followed for two years!

The leader just now was punched back inside by the Purple Robe Lama; seeing him, he couldn’t help but shudder in fear.

The remaining seven were also somewhat panicked, but being ruthless, they felt slightly less scared since the man in front of them seemed ordinary.

”*****, monk, are you looking for death?” a man shouted loudly, waving a dagger in his hand.

The Purple Robe Lama glanced at him and suddenly took a step forward. With just one step, the Purple Robe Lama crossed three or four meters, directly appearing before him, and struck down with a palm.

The man had no time to anticipate the speed of the Purple Robe Lama, unable to dodge or block, and got his shoulder dislocated with a crack as the Purple Robe Lama’s palm struck him. He fell to the ground, screaming in pain.

The remaining six had never seen anything like this before and quickly got up to flee. The Purple Robe Lama hesitated not at all, stepping forward one by one, breaking either their arms or their legs with a palm, leaving not one standing. Within less than a minute, all eight bandits lay on the ground, unable to muster the strength to stand again.

The herding family stared wide-eyed at the entire scene; these eight bandits were all ex-servicemen. But in front of the Purple Robe Lama, they were like ants, without any capacity to resist!
