Urban Martial Saint

Li Changfeng was momentarily speechless as well; of course, they were all very excited, because Ao Yangrong had come over. If Li Changshan’s side lost, they would have enough reason to force Li Changshan to step down. However, the match hadn’t finished yet, and though everyone was aware of the implications, they couldn’t express it directly.

Li Changyuan furrowed his brow and said, ”Second brother, I spoke wrongly just now. But now is not the time to dwell on these matters. Ao Yangrong is already here; we should first handle the external situation.”

Li Changyuan’s words immediately received most people’s support. So, if Li Changshan still clung to this matter, it would only make him seem petty as the Family Head and elder brother.

Li Changshan naturally understood Li Changyuan’s thoughts. He took a deep look at Li Changyuan and said, ”Ao Yangrong is just a junior, not Northern Martial Zen himself. As elders, we don’t need to go greet him. Bingyu, take a few younger disciples and invite them in!”

”Yes!” Li Bingyu responded and led a few second-generation offspring out.

Li Changyuan glanced at Li Changshan, furrowing his brow even deeper. Suddenly, he felt that Li Changshan was behaving oddly today, completely different from usual. What was going on?

Li Changfeng said from the side, ”Second brother, regardless of the circumstances, visitors are guests. Although he is a junior, Ao Yangrong represents Northern Martial Zen. It’s not appropriate to just send a few juniors to meet them, is it?”

”Why don’t you go out and greet them?” Li Changshan chuckled.

”This…” Li Changfeng glanced around; no one made a move. He wanted everyone to go out and welcome Northern Martial Zen, as he had received considerable benefits from them and wished to make a good impression in front of their senior disciple. However, since none of the Li Family elders were going out, he would lower his own standing if he went out alone with the juniors, so of course, he couldn’t go.

Li Changyuan discreetly signaled Li Changfeng to stop talking. Li Changyuan was much more astute than Li Changfeng; he already sensed something was amiss. Li Changshan’s attitude was completely different from before, and he couldn’t fathom what Li Changshan was thinking.

Li Bingyu led a group of young family members out the door, just in time to see Ao Yangrong and a group of people standing at the entrance. Ao Yangrong appeared to be about thirty years old, stood about 1.8 meters tall, with long limbs—quite a promising figure for practicing Northern Fist. Behind him was a group of disciples from Northern Martial Zen.

The disciples from Northern Martial Zen all had arrogant expressions. They were well aware that the purpose of their visit to the Li Family was to defeat them and force Li Changshan to step down. After Li Changshan lost to Northern Martial Zen last time, they had concluded that the Li Family was truly lacking in skill, so this challenge was considered a sure victory.

Li Bingyu, being straightforward by nature, was instantly angered by the expressions of Ao Yangrong’s followers. Walking up to Ao Yangrong with a stern face, he said, ”You must be the disciples of Northern Martial Zen? My name is Li Bingyu, and my master is Li Changshan!”

Upon seeing Li Bingyu’s expression, the people behind Ao Yangrong became agitated. Ao Yangrong, however, remained calm, smiled faintly, and extended his hand, saying, ”So it’s the young Li brother, pleased to meet you!”

Ao Yangrong extended his hand to shake Li Bingyu’s. Although Li Bingyu was displeased with Ao Yangrong and his group, refusing to shake hands when the other offered would be completely impolite.

Li Bingyu extended his hand, intending to shake Ao Yangrong’s hand perfunctorily. To his surprise, as soon as his hand clasped with Ao Yangrong’s, Ao Yangrong suddenly exerted force, squeezing his hand. A tremendous force caused a sharp pain in Li Bingyu’s hand, making him involuntarily cry out, his face contorted in pain.

Seeing Li Bingyu’s awkward expression, the people behind Ao Yangrong burst into laughter. They clearly knew what their senior brother had done to Li Bingyu and felt even more disdain for the Li family.

Ao Yangrong’s mouth curled into a cold smile. As he shook hands with Li Bingyu, he had already gauged his strength, deciding he was no match for him. If Li Changshan’s apprentice was this weak, then challenging the Li Family this time posed no pressure at all.

Li Bingyu suffered a hidden injury but was incredibly irritated. Still, he knew the difference in power between himself and Ao Yangrong—there was no way he could avenge himself alone. Moreover, although this was the Li Family’s territory, most of the young Li disciples following were merely watching his embarrassment, with none stepping in to help. So, while he endured the secret injury, his face flushed red with suppressed rage.

Li Bingyu struggled through the intense pain, trying to pull his hand away. However, Ao Yangrong showed no intention of letting go, keeping a tight grip on his hand, smiling casually, saying, ”I’ve long heard of young Li’s reputation; upon meeting today, indeed, seeing is believing. Young Li, I’ve heard the Li Family’s Bajiquan is renowned in the North, hailed as the first fist in the North. I wonder if there’s a chance to witness young Li’s Bajiquan today?”

Li Bingyu’s hand was nearly crushed, and now Ao Yangrong spoke with such sarcasm. Li Bingyu’s face twisted in pain, leaving no strength for any retort.

Seeing Li Bingyu in such a state, the group behind Ao Yangrong burst into laughter. Meanwhile, those behind Li Bingyu gaze at him disdainfully, with no one stepping forward to speak on his behalf.

Just as Li Bingyu found himself in an untenable situation, a car suddenly drove up to the gate. At this critical moment, the arrival of a car naturally captured everyone’s attention. Everyone turned to look and saw a young man stepping out of the vehicle.

Seeing the man, Li Bingyu couldn’t help but be overjoyed. Because the person coming wasn’t someone else; it was Ye Qing!

Li Bingyu quickly waved towards Ye Qing, yelling loudly, ”Ye brother!”

Hearing Li Bingyu’s words, everyone was surprised, especially those from the Li Family. People from the Li Family were very clear about how many disciples Li Changshan actually had, and there wasn’t anyone with the surname Ye among them. Moreover, this Ye Qing looked rather unfamiliar, he hadn’t appeared in the Li Family before, so why would Li Bingyu call him brother?

Ao Yangrong turned his head to glance at Ye Qing, slightly surprised, and said, ”When did Elder Li take such a disciple? I’ve never heard of it?”

”Nonsense, of course you haven’t heard of it, he...” Li Bingyu was just about to reveal Ye Qing’s identity, but Ye Qing suddenly interrupted him, ”This must be the top disciple of Northern Martial Zen, right?”

Ao Yangrong looked at Ye Qing and offered a faint smile, saying, ”Indeed, that is me.”

Ye Qing gave a slight smile and walked straight over to Li Bingyu’s side, smiling, ”Had you not said it, I would have thought you were some random gay guy!”

”What did you say!” The people behind Ao Yangrong immediately got angry, even Ao Yangrong furrowed his brows and looked coldly at Ye Qing, saying, ”My friend, you can eat what you want, but you can’t say whatever you please!”

”I didn’t misspeak.” Ye Qing said, ”Although my junior seems pretty fair-skinned, he’s a man after all. You’re holding onto his hand like that; forget about me, wouldn’t anyone find it odd? Is this how the disciples of Northern Martial Zen present themselves?”

Upon hearing this, Ao Yangrong was instantly embarrassed. He was holding onto Li Bingyu’s hand because he wanted to shame him publicly. But, with Ye Qing’s words, the gesture suddenly seemed a bit ambiguous.

Ao Yangrong hurriedly released his grip, and Li Bingyu let out a sigh of relief. Had Ao Yangrong not let go sooner, his hand would probably have been crushed by the incredible hand strength of Ao Yangrong.

Ao Yangrong originally intended to crush Li Bingyu to the point where he’d cry for help, but with Ye Qing’s intervention, that goal was unreachable. He took a deep look at Ye Qing and said, ”This Ye brother, why haven’t I seen you before? Are you also a disciple of Elder Li Changshan? I’m Ao Yangrong, nice to meet you!”

Ao Yangrong spoke and reached out to shake Ye Qing’s hand, full of anger, attempting to make Ye Qing suffer a hidden loss.

Ye Qing smiled faintly and said, ”I’m sorry, Mr. Ao, I’m not interested in men. So, let’s not shake hands!”

These words left Ao Yangrong stunned: What do you mean you’re not interested in men? Does that imply I’m interested in men? I’m just being polite with a handshake, though it lasted a bit long, but I’m definitely all man!

Listening to Ye Qing’s words, Li Bingyu couldn’t help but laugh. He had suffered a setback at Ao Yangrong’s hands earlier and was quite frustrated. Ye Qing’s appearance instantly dissipated his frustration. Seeing Ao Yangrong’s face turning red with anger, Li Bingyu felt delighted—more satisfying than getting revenge himself.

”Are the Li Family members only good at offering lip service?” Ao Yangrong said loudly, hands behind his back, ”Today, I represent my master Northern Martial Zen, here to learn from the Li Family’s Bajiquan. I wonder if there will be a chance to witness Mr. Ye’s skills!”

Ye Qing said in a carefree manner, ”Although I haven’t spent much time learning boxing at the Li Family, I can still teach you a thing or two!”

Regarding Ao Yangrong, Ye Qing wasn’t courteous at all and didn’t save him any face.

”Arrogant!” One person behind Ao Yangrong snorted at once, ”If it comes to a real fight, my brother could handle you with one hand!”

”You’re bloody bullshit...” Li Bingyu immediately wanted to retaliate but was directly stopped by Ye Qing with a hand gesture.

”You’re saying it...” Ye Qing said with a grin, looking at Ao Yangrong, ”If there’s really a chance to spar with Mr. Ao, please do let me use one hand!”

Ao Yangrong was taken aback, his eyes widening; his junior had merely made an ironic remark, yet Ye Qing seemed to take it seriously. Ao Yangrong, despite his self-confidence, hadn’t reached this level of arrogance; who would fight with only one hand?
