Urban Martial Saint

The bleeding stopped, and Li Bing’en’s pain also eased a lot. He gritted his teeth, pointed to the spot just now, and laughed, ”Look, two ants are fighting. So much fun...”

Upon hearing this, everyone turned their heads to look. Indeed, there were a few ants crawling across the ground. But what’s so fun about that? Did Li Bing’en really squat down just because he saw these ants? This... isn’t this something only a fool would do?

During a martial arts duel, squatting down to watch ants and ending up severely injured... Who in their right mind would do such a thing?

When Li Bing’en defeated Ao Yangrong and the others, most people thought he wasn’t really a fool. But now, hearing his words, everyone suddenly changed their previous opinion. Clearly, he’s just a fool!

The unusual look in Li Changshan’s eyes faded a lot, though he was still curious about Li Bing’en. At least, Li Bing’en was still a fool. That hadn’t changed much. Even if his martial arts were strong, he was just a skilled fool.

Ye Qing sighed; he thought Li Bing’en was pretending to be foolish. But now it seemed he was indeed a real fool, which made him feel a bit regretful. With Li Bing’en’s level of skill, if he were mentally normal, he could definitely inherit Third Master Li’s legacy and promote the fame of the Northern Fist King. Unfortunately, he’s a fool and simply cannot do that!

”How is it now?” Ye Qing stood up, coldly looking at Ao Yangrong, and said, ”Do you concede defeat?”

Ao Yangrong lay on the ground, unable even to stand. The victory or defeat was already very clear. In fact, when Li Bing’en injured him earlier, he had already lost; this just made the loss even more definitive.

”Is there even a need to say?” Li Changshan stood up and declared loudly, ”The result of today’s battle is very clear. My elder brother’s inheritor has defeated the top disciple of Northern Martial Zen. The outcome from twenty-five years ago continues today!”

”Hold on a moment!” Li Changyuan also leaned against the wall and stood up, saying seriously, ”Second brother, I think this battle cannot be considered a win for Bing’en.”

Li Changshan’s face grew cold, and he said sternly, ”Even now, you say Bing’en didn’t win?”

”The facts are indeed so!” Li Changyuan said. ”It was supposed to be a duel between two people, but that guy Ye also got involved to help defeat Ao Yangrong. If this gets out, wouldn’t it be said that members of the Li Family won by outnumbering the opponent? Second brother, our Li Family’s long-standing reputation can’t be destroyed in such a manner!”

Li Bingyu retorted indignantly, ”You make it sound good, but when Ao Yangrong’s juniors stepped in to block Bing’en earlier, you didn’t come out to say a word of fairness!”

”Both sides were at fault; this battle was far too chaotic. So, I think the result of this fight can’t be counted,” Li Changyuan said. ”How about this: we have another match, and this time no one interferes, and we settle the score. What do people think?”

Most people in the hall sided with Li Changyuan. Now that he was asking for everyone’s opinion, they all of course supported him.

Li Changshan frowned deeply. If not for Li Changyuan rallying too many Li Family members to his side, he would have been angry long ago. But now, most of the Li Family refused to acknowledge this outcome, which indeed made him quite passive.

”You say you want another match, right?” Before Li Changshan could speak, Ye Qing stepped forward and said, ”Alright, let’s have another match. Bingyu, come out and fight them!”

”What?” Li Bingyu was stunned for a moment and then hurriedly said, ”Ye, I... I can’t...”

”What’s there to can’t?” Ye Qing glared at him, turned, and pointed at the few people on Ao Yangrong’s side, saying, ”Pick any one of them to fight, that’s all!”

Looking at those people, Li Bingyu suddenly understood what Ye Qing meant. Ao Yangrong’s juniors, who tried to stop Li Bing’en earlier, had all been knocked down by him. They were all injured now and could barely stand, let alone compete. If they were really going to fight, even if Li Bingyu didn’t fight himself, anyone who couldn’t perform martial arts could easily knock them down. This victory had no suspense whatsoever.

”Hahaha...” Li Bingyu laughed heartily as he walked out from behind, saying, ”Alright, alright, I’ll do it. Ye, how about I let them pick one person who’s still able to fight, and take me on? That would be fair, right?”

Li Changyuan had been busy denying the result just now, and only then realized that Ao Yangrong’s juniors were all injured and couldn’t fight. Seeing this situation, he quickly came out and said urgently, ”How can that be? The apprentices of Northern Martial Zen are all injured. In such a fight, wouldn’t victory be meaningless? No, no, if this gets out, what will become of the Li Family’s reputation?”

”This won’t work, that won’t work, are you a person from Northern Martial Zen or from the Li Family?” Li Bingyu angrily shouted.

”You junior, when is it your turn to interrupt here!” Li Changfeng also shouted loudly.

Li Bingyu wanted to speak, but Ye Qing gestured for him to stay calm.

”Li Changyuan, let’s do as you said,” Ye Qing said in a deep voice. ”Let’s not fight today. Let them go back and heal before coming back to fight. Hmph, I don’t believe it. Even if the disciples of Northern Martial Zen heal, can any of them be a match for Bing’en?”

Only then did Li Changyuan realize that Li Bing’en’s strength was truly tremendous, an insurmountable peak for these disciples of Northern Martial Zen. Even if these disciples weren’t hurt at all, they definitely wouldn’t be a match for Li Bing’en. As long as Li Bing’en is involved, there’s no chance of winning this battle!

Li Changyuan just wanted Ao Yangrong to defeat Li Changshan’s disciple, so he could naturally force Li Changshan to step down. But now Ao Yangrong has no hope of victory, and this plan can’t continue. Moreover, he also noticed that Li Changshan had changed his attitude. He knew very well that if he didn’t take this opportunity now to suppress Li Changshan, he would be in trouble later.

”Hmph, even if this battle isn’t fought, it doesn’t matter!” Li Changyuan said loudly. ”No matter what, the one who defeats the Northern Martial Zen disciple is ultimately my brother’s heir, not the disciple of the second brother!”

Li Bingyu shouted, ”So what? It’s our Li Family that won; isn’t that enough?”

”That’s not the same!” Li Changyuan said loudly. ”Bing’en winning this battle shows that my brother is not without successors. The position of the Family Head should ultimately be left to my brother’s heir.”

Li Changyuan, glancing at Li Changshan, said, ”Second brother, after big brother’s defeat back then and the deaths of his two sons, you became the Family Head. Initially, we all thought big brother had no successors, so it was understandable for you to become the Family Head. But now, with the strength Bing’en has shown, he definitely can inherit my brother’s mantle, proving that my brother does have someone to succeed him. So, should the position of Family Head be given to Bing’en?”

Those who supported Li Changyuan, including Li Changfeng, were somewhat surprised when they heard him say this. But soon, everyone understood his intentions. Li Changyuan was very clear that as long as the Li Family didn’t lose, he couldn’t become the Family Head. However, Li Changyuan wasn’t foolish; even if he couldn’t become the Family Head himself, he wanted to oust Li Changshan from that position.

Although it seemed Li Changyuan wanted Li Bing’en to become the Family Head, in reality, his main goal was to remove Li Changshan from the position. Even if Li Bing’en became the Family Head, his simpleness meant he couldn’t pose any challenge. Moreover, most of the Li Family’s power was in Li Changyuan’s hands, so even if he wasn’t the Family Head, he could control the entire family. At least, Li Bing’en couldn’t restrain him like Li Changshan could.

”What do you mean by that?” Li Bingyu said indignantly. ”Bing’en has problems; if you make him Family Head, what can he do?”

”Problems?” Li Changyuan sneered, ”A person with problems has martial skills far superior to yours; don’t you feel ashamed?”

Li Bingyu smirked, ”You say that as if Bing’en’s martial skills aren’t stronger than yours!”

Li Changyuan was furious but couldn’t refute Li Bingyu. Among the many members of the Li Family, apart from Li Changshan, truly no one could rival Li Bing’en’s strength.

Li Changshan frowned, not expecting Li Changyuan to use this method to force him to step down. But if Li Changyuan did say so, he had no way to argue, for after all, Li Bing’en was Li Changqing’s grandson, truly the one with the rightful claim to be the Family Head.

Li Changshan secretly glanced at Ye Qing. Ye Qing understood and nodded slightly, signaling him not to worry.

”Sorry, Bing’en can’t be the Li Family’s Head here!” Ye Qing stepped forward and said loudly, ”These few days, I will take Bing’en to the South to find the best hospital and the best doctors to examine and cure his illness. This might take some time, so Bing’en cannot take on the Family Head position for now!”

”Hmph, what gives you the right to take Bing’en to the South?” Li Changyuan shouted angrily. ”Like I said earlier, as a person of unknown origin, you have no voice in our Li Family. Now you want to take Bing’en away; that’s even less likely, and the Li Family members would never allow it.”

”Why is that impossible?” Ye Qing said coldly, ”You don’t trust me, but others do. I want to take Bing’en to the South, and it’s not your place to interfere. As long as the Family Head agrees, it’s fine. Who are you to decide where Bing’en can go?”

Saying this, Ye Qing turned to Li Changshan and said loudly, ”Uncle, I want to take Bing’en to the South for treatment. Is that okay?”
