Urban Martial Saint

The matter of funding from the Ministry of Finance was personally communicated to Ye Qing by Su Guoxuan, so there shouldn’t be any issue. However, in Ye Qing’s considerations, the most crucial point is how much money the Ministry of Finance will allocate. After all, this is a private orphanage, and how much is the state willing to bear?

Ye Qing actually never thought about asking for the state’s money; his original intention was to support these children himself. But now, as the situation in Shenchuan City becomes increasingly complex, even Ye Qing does not know whether he can survive this turmoil. He often wonders what will happen to the children in the orphanage if he is no longer around.

Therefore, if the Ministry of Finance is willing to allocate funds now, it also relieves some of Ye Qing’s worries. At the very least, even if he is gone in the future, someone else will continue to take care of these children, ensuring they won’t go hungry.

Nobody knows how much Ye Qing has considered for the children, not even Wu Yian. Ye Qing hasn’t mentioned much, and he didn’t tell many people about the matters concerning the Sujia of Capital City.

”Is there anything the orphanage still needs?” Ye Qing asked after making a round.

”If you ask what’s needed...” Wu Yian paused and said, ”To be honest, given the current situation in the orphanage, the land is a bit too small. If the orphanage expands in the future and more children arrive, I’m afraid we won’t be able to accommodate them.”

Ye Qing frowned slightly, which indeed was a troubling matter. When the land was initially purchased, it happened to belong to Huang Fulin, who was enthusiastic about these matters and offered to help, thus establishing the orphanage.

At that time, Ye Qing had only about three hundred children, and the land was sufficient. But now, with about one thousand children, plus teachers and staff, the current land of the orphanage is really small, and indeed, there is a need for expansion. However, the land nearby is not easy to acquire, as much of it is farmland that cannot be bought or sold.

”But it’s still okay; squeezing a bit more is not a problem,” Wu Yian knew Ye Qing’s difficulties and immediately said, ”The children can endure hardships. As long as they have enough to eat and wear, there are no problems beyond that. Besides, back when we were in school, two people shared one desk without issues. The desks and chairs here are enough, and the children are very satisfied.”

Ye Qing sighed and said, ”I’ll see if I can find another suitable place, and then move the orphanage there.”

”How much would that cost?” Wu Yian looked regretfully at the buildings in the orphanage and said, ”A lot of money was spent building these. Moving would waste all of this, wouldn’t it?”

Ye Qing also didn’t know how to handle this matter. For now, it seems there is nothing to do but take it one step at a time. If it doesn’t work out, in the future, the orphanage might have to establish a branch. This place would be the headquarters, and a branch would be established, so both places could be used. However, the issue is the location of the branch, and the most troublesome part is acquiring the land.

After touring the orphanage, Ye Qing checked on the children’s schooling and specifically looked at Ding San’s son.

Since being sent to the orphanage last time, Ding San’s son had been living there. In fact, since Ding San was imprisoned, he had become accustomed to such a life and quickly integrated into the orphanage. However, occasionally recalling his family makes him sad. But ultimately, he’s just a child; after some consoling, he’s fine and is quite happy living in the orphanage.

Looking at Ding San’s son, Ye Qing couldn’t help but think of white-haired Ding San. Because of the selfish desires of those people, a perfectly good family ended up like this. Out of a family of six, only two remain. The child ended up in an orphanage, and Ding San became a murderous demon. As for those who had harmed Ding San, none of them met a good end; all were wiped out by Ding San, without exception.

Though Ding San has avenged himself thoroughly, the cost of revenge was significant. Now Ding San has become a killing machine, neither human nor ghost, with thoughts of nothing but murder. Upon seeing someone, his first thought is to kill them, truly no different from a wild beast. Last time in Tianhui City, Ye Qing was almost killed by him, but he fortunately had a photo of Ding San’s son, which dispelled Ding San’s murderous intent.

But though Ding San’s murderous intent was dispelled last time, will it always be dispelled in the future?

Ye Qing doesn’t know, but he is very clear that if there is hope for Ding San to turn back, his son is the only hope. So Ye Qing often visits Ding San’s son and hopes to someday let Ding San see his son.

In the evening, Ye Qing had a meal with the staff at the orphanage, and even Zhao Chengshuang came over. Of course, his intent was to pick up his girlfriend, Huo Pingping, as he has no interest in looking after the children.

Seeing Ye Qing there, Zhao Chengshuang shamelessly stayed over for a meal. After eating, he then took Ye Qing and Huo Pingping back to the city.

Ye Qing sat in the back, watching Zhao Chengshuang and Huo Pingping flirting in the front, and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Hey, can you two tone it down a bit? There’s another person back here!”

”So what?” Huo Pingping turned and gave Ye Qing a glare, ”I didn’t say you’re not a person, but our couple’s affairs are none of your damn business!”

Ye Qing immediately surrendered; arguing with Huo Pingping would absolutely be a huge mistake.

”Ye Zi, don’t be envious. Let me tell you, this is what we call love!” Zhao Chengshuang glanced at Ye Qing through the rear-view mirror with pride and said, ”By the way, Ye Zi, last night the North District Division caught a fat guy, saying he’s your friend. Do you know him?”

”Fatty? What fatty?” Ye Qing asked curiously, trying to think of his friends, but couldn’t find any fatty among them.

Zhao Chengshuang thought hard for a while and said, ”Someone named Handsome Fatty Wang, I’ve forgotten really, but that doesn’t sound like a normal person’s name at all.”

”Handsome Fatty Wang!” Ye Qing nearly jumped up, that bastard, it’s actually this guy?

”What, you know him?” Zhao Chengshuang asked in surprise, ”Is he really your friend?”

”Hell no!” Ye Qing gritted his teeth and said, ”He’s my enemy!”

”Oh?” Zhao Chengshuang asked, ”What’s going on?”

”You tell me first how he got caught?” Ye Qing paused and said, ”Was he caught tomb-robbing?”

”There’s no tombs in Shenchuan City to rob.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”He was indeed caught stealing, but not from the dead, he was stealing from the living.”

”Stealing from the living?” Ye Qing asked curiously, ”Who was he stealing from?”

”This fatty is quite bold, he snuck into the Lin family to steal something. But before he could steal anything, he was discovered and then caught.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”I just heard about it when I came to the division this morning, this guy said he’s a friend of yours, so the people at the division still don’t dare to touch him!”

Ye Qing’s name is very well-known in Shenchuan City, everyone at the police station knows him. If someone claims to be Ye Qing’s friend, no one dares to touch him; at least they have to investigate thoroughly before taking action. Otherwise, if they hit Ye Qing’s friend, it would be trouble.

”There’s nothing to be afraid of, such people should be beaten properly once caught!” Ye Qing said angrily, last time when he got off the plane, he was tricked by Handsome Fatty Wang. In Ye Qing’s life, only three people have ever tricked him, the first being Old Wang Ba, secondly this Handsome Fatty Wang, and thirdly Shijia.

It just happens that these three people are truly more shameless and vulgar than each other. Especially Old Wang Ba, he’s simply the king among the three, the king of vulgarity, Ye Qing has been tricked by him the most.

”Judging from your tone, you definitely know him.” Zhao Chengshuang laughed and said, ”What is it, you normally don’t have such a temper, what did this guy do to anger you?”

Ye Qing sighed and recounted the incident on the plane. Hearing this, Zhao Chengshuang couldn’t help but laugh even harder and said, ”I swear, last time you had some trouble at the airport, turns out it was this fatty who tricked you. Oh, don’t even say, this fatty really gives Old Wang Ba a run for his money, they are just as shameless and vulgar!”

Ye Qing asked, ”What did he go to the Lin family to steal?”

”I don’t know either, heard that it seemed to be an antique from Lin family, bought by my uncle before.” Zhao Chengshuang paused and said, ”However, this case is a bit peculiar.”

”Peculiar?” Ye Qing asked curiously, ”How is it peculiar?”

”You know, my uncle’s home is filled with antiques, and all of them are genuine and valuable, any piece can sell for a high price.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”But, this Handsome Fatty Wang, the thing he stole didn’t seem very valuable. Also, it’s quite bulky, not convenient to carry, not worth much, who would steal something like that?”

”Really?” Ye Qing felt a slight surprise in his heart, he knows, Handsome Fatty Wang used to be a tomb robber. Those who do tomb-robbing have very unique insights, at least they have a deep understanding of antiques. It means that if a pile of antiques is placed in front of Handsome Fatty Wang, he can definitely tell with a glance which one is the most valuable.

There are so many antiques, so many valuable things at the Lin family. With Handsome Fatty Wang’s vision, he could definitely recognize at a glance which one is valuable and he could definitely pick something both valuable and easy to carry. But, why did he choose something not valuable and inconvenient to carry, what’s going on? Could it be, is there something special about this antique?

Thinking of this, Ye Qing suddenly remembered when he took the plane last time, Handsome Fatty Wang was being escorted by two people to Shenchuan City. And at the time, the reason those two people escorted him was to force him to hand over some thing. However, at that time, Ye Qing hadn’t had the chance to ask what the thing was. But, this thing seemed to be something that the King Wan Yan of Northern Desert wanted.

And now, Handsome Fatty Wang suddenly committed a crime in Shenchuan City, and did such a peculiar case. Could it be, the thing he stole is what the King Wan Yan of Northern Desert wants?
