Urban Martial Saint

Zhao Chengshuang didn’t know what exactly happened between Ye Qing and Old Wang Ba, but he could vaguely guess. Old Wang Ba, that old guy, has scammed countless people; even Zhao Chengshuang has been taken in by him. Speaking of Old Wang Ba, quite a few people in Shenchuan City are gnashing their teeth, wanting revenge on him.

”By the way, this guy...” Zhao Chengshuang motioned towards Li Bing’en, who was sitting in the back seat and foolishly chuckling, and said, ”What’s this guy’s background?”

”He’s the direct grandson of Northern Fist King, Third Master Li!” Ye Qing replied.

”Really?” Zhao Chengshuang’s eyes lit up, and he immediately turned his head excitedly to look at Li Bing’en, saying, ”Hey, man, hi, I’m Zhao Chengshuang. I also love martial arts. Whenever you’re free, can you teach me a bit?”

”Heh heh...” Li Bing’en still had that silly and carefree look, not even bothering to respond to Zhao Chengshuang’s words.

”What... what’s going on?” Zhao Chengshuang looked at Ye Qing in surprise.

Ye Qing hurriedly said, ”Watch the road! Focus on driving, will you?”

”Oh, oh, oh...” Only then did Zhao Chengshuang remember he was driving. He quickly turned his head back, honestly driving, and asked, ”What on earth is going on?”

”He was traumatized as a child and has some mental issues,” Ye Qing sighed, saying, ”I’m bringing him to Shenchuan City this time to have Lin Tianyou take a look at him. If he can be cured, then Third Master Li will have a successor!”

”Ah, you came back at the wrong time,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”Your cousin went abroad. I heard he went to attend some sort of medical seminar. Oh, right, it’s about that Heart-devouring Bug you brought last time. Over in America, several labs are researching that thing. It’s said that there has been some progress, and your cousin went there to learn about that stuff.”

”Oh?” Ye Qing also perked up. Previously, Lin Tianyou had helped Ye Qing develop food for the Heart-devouring Bug, but they hadn’t found a way to completely eliminate it. Ye Qing currently has over a hundred martial artists holed up in a factory because of the Heart-devouring Bug. If they can’t be rid of it, it will always be a threat to them.

Now that Lin Tianyou went to America for a seminar, it’s likely there’s been progress in researching the Heart-devouring Bug. If they really find a way to eliminate it, then these hundred-plus people will be saved.

”No problem, it’s not urgent,” Ye Qing said. ”We can wait until he gets back.”

”If you’re not in a hurry, then it’s all good,” Zhao Chengshuang nodded and said. ”By the way, during the few days you weren’t in Shenchuan City, three more families in the South were challenged by that young man last time, and they all lost. Judging by his path, it seems he will reach Shenchuan City in just a few days!”

Ye Qing furrowed his brow. He knew the person Zhao Chengshuang was talking about was unquestionably the one who attacked Huangfu Ziyu last time. During his time in Liaoshen City, Ye Qing was always worried about this, fearing a sudden attack. After all, Liu Mubai was the only one in charge in Shenchuan City, and Liu Mubai wasn’t a match for this person. If he came over to cause trouble, Liu Mubai would be in danger.

Now that Ye Qing was back, he was very aware that even together with Liu Mubai, they were no match for this person. If he really came to Shenchuan City, defeating him with their strength would be problematic.

”How’s the situation in the Western Province?” Ye Qing suddenly asked.

”I was just about to tell you about this,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”Wang Tian’an’s visible forces have basically been completely uprooted by White Horse Chen San. Now Wang Tian’an is hiding, not daring to confront Chen San directly. And Chen San just sent a message, saying he’s already set out to return to Shenchuan City to join forces with you against that person!”

”Chen San is coming back too!” Ye Qing’s eyes lit up. Chen San’s strength surpassed even Liu Mubai’s. If Chen San returned, the three of them joining forces against this young man might actually stand a chance.

Zhao Chengshuang glanced at Ye Qing’s expression, opening his mouth as if wanting to say something, but ultimately didn’t speak clearly.

The distance from the airport to the city wasn’t far, and before long, Zhao Chengshuang had taken Ye Qing to Tian Sheng. There, Li Lianshan and the others were waiting for Ye Qing. When they saw him arrive, they all came to greet him, all very happy.

Ye Qing asked Black Bear to take Li Bing’en upstairs to rest first. Since Lin Tianyou hadn’t returned yet, the check-up for Li Bing’en had to be postponed a bit.

Everyone returned upstairs to the office, with Zhao Chengshuang tagging along. This guy, ever since becoming a director, although busier, had no one supervising him, leaving one unsure if he was genuinely busy or actually idle. Anyway, no one controlled where he roamed during downtime.

Ye Qing had just returned, so naturally, everyone eagerly asked about his trip to Liaoshen City. In front of his brothers, Ye Qing hid nothing, recounting everything he experienced there from start to finish.

After listening to the experiences from over there, everyone was amazed. Who could have imagined that the Li family, once able to rival the Shen Family from the South in the North, would now have declined to such a level, relying on drugs and gambling to survive? It’s truly a poignant reflection.

However, when they heard about Handsome Fatty Wang’s incident, everyone began to curse Old Wang Ba in unison. This old guy really doesn’t have a good reputation among people!

”That old guy deserves to be wanted!” Li Lianshan said, ”Damn it, wherever he goes, trouble follows. I think just locking him up in Shenchuan City is the safest. At least, we won’t have to worry about him causing any serious trouble.”

”Locking him up in Shenchuan City is useless! He’s here, shouldn’t he spare us from trouble?” Da Fei said from beside him, ”This guy, best to lock him in prison. Find him when there’s trouble, keep him locked up when there’s none. Only then can he be obedient, don’t you think?”

Da Fei said, patting Zhao Chengshuang by his side. But Zhao Chengshuang frowned involuntarily, remaining silent for a long time before finally speaking in a low voice, ”Actually, locking him up in prison isn’t very secure either.”

”What’s the matter?” Everyone was surprised, and Da Fei asked, ”Locking him up in prison isn’t secure either? Can he even deceive prisoners inside?”

Zhao Chengshuang said in a low voice, ”I’ve checked his records. That old guy went to prison once before, but inside, he incited prisoners for a mass escape. That time, more than thirty prisoners got away…”

Everyone was stunned. Who could have thought that Sleazy Man Old Wang Ba has such a glorious history? So, this old guy practically has no place to be detained!

It was at this moment that Li Lianshan suddenly remembered something, and he hurriedly said, ”By the way, Ye Zi, do you know about that thing?”

”What thing?” Ye Qing asked curiously.

Li Lianshan was about to speak, but Zhao Chengshuang quietly pulled him aside. Li Lianshan paused for a moment, exchanged a look with Zhao Chengshuang, who gestured to him.

”What’s going on?” Seeing their actions, Ye Qing was even more puzzled and asked, ”What happened?”

”Uh, it’s nothing. Just the day before yesterday, there was news from the Capital saying people from there are coming over.” Zhao Chengshuang hurriedly said, ”Ye Zi, do you think you should contact the folks over at the Capital? While you’re at home, settle things on the orphanage’s end first.”

When Ye Qing was in Liaoshen City, Su Kaicheng had already mentioned this matter to him, and now Zhao Chengshuang brought it up again. Ye Qing nodded and said, ”That makes sense. I’ll get in touch with Su Kaicheng later and see what the Capital says.”

”That would be best.” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”With the New Year approaching, the sooner the orphanage’s matters are settled, the better. After all, we must ensure the children have a good New Year.”

Ye Qing gave a faint smile and glanced at Li Lianshan. Li Lianshan kept his head down, avoiding eye contact. Ye Qing understood that Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan were obviously hiding something from him, but he didn’t ask further because he trusted that Zhao Chengshuang and Li Lianshan would never deceive him.

Li Lianshan and the others didn’t linger there for long. After chatting for a while, they went off to attend to their own businesses. Seeing everyone off, Ye Qing called Su Kaicheng to inquire about the work group.

Su Kaicheng was waiting for Ye Qing’s call, and upon answering, he immediately informed Ye Qing that the work group will be arriving in the next couple of days. Of course, this time it’s a work group; they’re coming specifically to evaluate and reconstruct the orphanage’s resources, unlike the previous investigation group, so Ye Qing doesn’t need to make any special preparations.

With the work group arriving, Ye Qing’s orphanage was officially established, fulfilling a long-standing wish. Next, for Ye Qing, the most crucial matters are finding Huangfu Ziyu and his brother Ye Jun.

Honestly, for Ye Qing, once the orphanage is built, he has no other desires. As long as he finds Huangfu Ziyu and Ye Jun, he’d even be willing to abandon everything in Shenchuan City and return home to lead a normal life. However, finding Huangfu Ziyu and Ye Jun is destined to be no easy task.

Huangfu Ziyu has been abducted for such a long time, yet there’s still no news about her, which deeply worries Ye Qing. Even though Old Wang Ba advised him not to worry, how could Ye Qing possibly not worry about something like this?

After hanging up the phone, Ye Qing slowly leaned back on the chair behind him. His trip to Liaoshen City was worthwhile, at least for bringing Third Master Li’s grandson to Shenchuan City. But, not finding Huangfu Ziyu still left Ye Qing feeling very disappointed.

According to Old Wang Ba, Huangfu Ziyu is not in danger now. But if she’s truly safe, why hasn’t she come back? Even if she can’t come back due to unforeseen circumstances, at least she could call and let Ye Qing know she’s genuinely safe, right?

While Ye Qing was lost in thought, the phone on the table suddenly rang. Ye Qing picked up the phone and immediately heard a man’s voice on the other end, ”Guess who I am!”
