The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1731: Chapter 1731: General Huang Arrives

Shu Yu’s expression changed slightly. She quickly stopped in her tracks, retreated back into the alley, and looked towards the source of the sound.

“What’s happening?” Yuan Gui also grew tense.

Shu Yu didn’t know, so she quietly peeked out. After a while, a smile appeared on her face.

General Huang is here!!

Shu Yu watched the majestic procession led by what seemed to be County Magistrate Cheng.

So that means County Magistrate Cheng is not in his private residence, and Xia Yi didn’t encounter him.

The person beside County Magistrate Cheng, dressed in heavy armor with his right hand always on the sword’s hilt at his waist, was General Huang. At this moment, General Huang had a solemn air about him and only slightly nodded to County Magistrate Cheng’s talkative chat, with no other expressions.

Shu Yu had met this general before. When Gong Qiu was caught, the people in the capital were anxious. At that time, the Fifth Prince handled Gong Qiu’s affairs himself, and as his confidant, General Huang naturally lent his full support.

When Gong Qiu’s men attempted to rescue him at the execution ground, General Huang was guarding beside him.

Shu Yu finally understood why there were suddenly more soldiers at the city gate today; it was because of this.

General Huang coming at this time is perfect timing.

Shu Yu exhaled and turned to Yuan Gui and said, “That’s General Huang, here to suppress the rebellion, which is advantageous to us. Let’s go, let’s deliver the food first.”

Having said that, she was about to move forward, however, Yuan Gui stood still, staring straight at General Huang with a hint of caution on his face.

Shu Yu was taken aback and asked softly, “What’s wrong, is there a problem?”

Yuan Gui pointed towards General Huang and said, “I saw the person who shot an arrow at me last year.” At that time, he and Jiang Kuanyu had jumped off a cliff together; Jiang Kuanyu had vines tied to him, and there were people in a cave below to receive him.

While Yuan Gui was holding onto Jiang Kuanyu tightly, someone in the cave shot an arrow at him.

And now, this person is right in front.

Shu Yu was startled when she heard this and urgently asked, “Which one? The soldier beside County Magistrate Cheng?”

“No, it’s not him. It’s the person holding the horse for the general.”

Shu Yu quickly turned around and looked at the procession again.

The person leading the horse was right behind General Huang, wearing simple armor. He seemed to be someone General Huang had brought along.

A person aiding Jiang Kuanyu is naturally someone from the black market.

Unexpectedly, this person is now beside General Huang.

Shu Yu tightly pursed her lips; this isn’t good, there’s a mole inside, General Huang might be at a disadvantage.

“Monarch Lu Xiang, since General Huang is here to quell the rebellion, having someone from the black market close by is very dangerous, isn’t it?”

“Yes.” Shu Yu’s expression was solemn. “We need to find a way to warn him.”

“How do we warn him?”

Shu Yu observed County Magistrate Cheng’s careful manner and looked at the people following General Huang, estimating that it would be hard to find a chance for him to be alone to contact others.

She contemplated for a moment, then withdrew her gaze, “Let’s go, we should find some help.”

With that, she quickened her pace, and Yuan Gui hurriedly followed.

He didn’t know where Shu Yu was going or who they were seeking help from, until they stopped in the alley behind County Magistrate Cheng’s private residence.

All the doors nearby were closed, and as Yuan Gui stayed on high alert, he heard faint footsteps coming from behind.

“Monarch Lu Xiang.”

Shu Yu turned around and saw Lu Wu. While handing him the basket she was holding, she asked, “Where’s Xia Yi?”
