The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1727: Chapter 1727: Is Granny Fang My Great-Aunt?

Granny Fang suddenly became nervous, wondering if the young lady needed more refined food.

Moreover, the young lady appeared quite poised and was certainly not from a humble background. Granny Fang worried about what to do if she didn’t like the country-style pancakes and porridge.

Granny Fang opened her mouth, wanting to say something but unsure of how to engage with such a young lady.

She hesitantly looked at her, only to see the young lady equally bewildered.

Granny Fang called out softly, ”Young lady, young lady?”

Shu Yu snapped back to reality and quickly shook her head, ”What is it?” As she spoke, she couldn’t help but take a careful look at Granny Fang.

She did look very much alike.

The Granny Fang in front of her bore at least a fifty percent resemblance to her grandmother.

And yes, the young lady shared the same surname as her grandmother.

Shu Yu’s heart started racing as uncertain guesses surged within her. Could it really be such a coincidence?

”Young lady, what would you like to eat?”

Granny Fang’s voice brought Shu Yu back to her senses, and she tentatively replied, ”I’m from Dongan Province. I’ve been away for some time now and suddenly crave some hometown noodles.”

Upon hearing she was from Dongan Province, Granny Fang’s eyes lit up, and her tone became less cautious and more excited, ”You’re from Dongan Province? What kind of noodles do you want? I can make them, the most authentic ones.”

Shu Yu slowly suppressed her inner astonishment, ”Granny Fang, aren’t you from Changjin Prefecture? How come you’re so skilled at making Dongan Province noodles?”

”Actually, I’m originally from Dongan Province as well. Years ago, our home was flooded, and I fled here as a refugee.”

Shu Yu held her breath. Dongan Province, the flood, refugee, surname Fang, the age not too different, and the resemblance to her grandmother.

All these coincidences aligned; it had to be her.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but smile, never expecting such a discovery in Chenggu County.

She glanced at Granny Fang, who was already bustling into the kitchen with excitement.

Seeing this, Shu Yu held back her words. No rush, she thought. Better to first understand her situation over the years.

She was curious. If her aunt was still alive, why didn’t she send a letter home? By the way, Yuan Gui mentioned Granny Fang was alone. What about her husband? Could he have been a victim of the flood back then?

Shu Yu had many questions in her mind as she stepped into the kitchen, only to find Granny Fang sighing.

Upon closer inspection, she realized the kitchen was running low on supplies, possibly not enough for them to have a full meal in the morning.

True enough, though the clinic only housed Doctor Mi, he likely hadn’t gone out for supplies in days.

Yuan Gui and Granny Fang’s presence had sped up the consumption of resources.

She told Granny Fang, ”I’ll go out and buy some rice and flour.”

Granny Fang immediately stood up and said, ”I, I’ll go.”

”No worries, I’m young and strong, and I plan to make lots of buns and dumplings to send over to the escort agency. I’ll need quite a bit of rice and flour, and I’ll rely on Granny Fang to lend me a hand.”

Her earlier offer to help in the kitchen was actually for this purpose.

However, the buns and dumplings she made weren’t going to the escort agency but to the county magistrate’s private residence for Xia Yi and Lu Wu and their people.

They couldn’t conveniently prepare food, and although they ate before setting out from the black market, the entire day lay ahead, and they shouldn’t go hungry.
