The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1726: Chapter 1726: Granny Fang

Meng Qi knew that Shu Yu was definitely not telling the truth, but he understood that Meng Yunzheng and the others were planning something big, and the fewer people who knew the truth, the better.

Therefore, he did not contradict Shu Yu’s words and only then remembered to introduce Shu Yu’s identity. He hurriedly said, ”This is my cousin’s fiancée, Lady Lu. After hearing about what happened in Chenggu County, she was worried about her family’s safety and came to the county town with my cousin two days ago.”

Doctor Mi clasped his hands and said, ”Lady Lu is considerate. Since those mountain bandits think Brother Meng is already dead, they probably won’t trouble the Meng family anymore. But to be safe, let Brother Meng recover here first. Once the authorities catch those bandits, it’ll not be too late for him to go back.”

”Thank you, Uncle Mi.”

Doctor Mi waved his hand, ”Your father is my friend; this is what I should do. However, if you find out where those bandits are hiding, you should immediately notify the patrolling authorities to catch them as soon as possible.”

Shu Yu sighed and said with regret, ”We did chase after them to find out their hideout. Unfortunately, we lost their trail halfway. My uncle was severely injured, and we couldn’t delay any further, so we had to give up.”

Upon hearing this, Doctor Mi felt some regret, but there was nothing else he could do.

While the few of them were talking, faint footsteps suddenly came from outside the house.

Meng Qi glanced outside, ”It’s Granny Fang.”

The Mi Family Clinic is a small clinic with usually only two doctors and two pharmacists. But after the chaos in the county town, the clinic temporarily closed. So in recent days, only Doctor Mi lived in the clinic.

Doctor Mi originally had a wife and daughter, but his wife passed away last year, and his daughter married two years ago. So, in this large clinic, aside from Doctor Mi himself, there was only Granny Fang and Yuan Gui.

Granny Fang looked at the people in the room, a bit apprehensive, and immediately spoke softly, ”I heard some noise over here, so I came to see if you needed help.”

”No need, we’re fine now.” Meng Qi took a few steps forward and asked Granny Fang, ”How is Yuan Gui?”

”Much better now; he woke up once in the middle of the night and could get out of bed and walk.” Granny Fang quickly said, ”Really, thank you so much, Young Master Meng. If it weren’t for you, I might never have seen Ah Gui again.”

”There’s no need for such formalities, Granny Fang.”

Granny Fang smiled and then suddenly thought of something, looking up and saying, ”Oh, right, I was just planning to make breakfast. What would you like to eat? I’ll make it for you. I will pay.”

Yuan Gui was recovering here, and after paying the medical fees, his lodging and meals were covered. But the cooking had to be done by himself, with Doctor Mi only providing the utensils and ingredients.

Granny Fang didn’t have much money left, but she was truly grateful to Meng Qi. She couldn’t offer anything else, but she felt it was only right to cook a meal for Yuan Gui’s savior.

As long as Yuan Gui was safe and sound, they could earn money later.

Meng Qi was really hungry and did not refuse, ”Thank you, Granny Fang, anything will do, um... how about some porridge.”

”Alright,”

Granny Fang turned and left.

Shu Yu thought for a moment and followed, ”I’ll help you.”

Granny Fang was taken aback and turned her head to look at her. Earlier, Shu Yu was standing to the side inside the room, and she didn’t see her, thinking there were only Meng Qi and Doctor Mi, along with the injured person lying on the bed inside.

Unexpectedly, a young lady suddenly came out from inside.
