The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1705: Chapter 1705: Waiting for Our Good News

He Er hurriedly followed, only to find that the cousin who was just feeling a bit chilly and unwell yesterday, was now burning with a high fever.

When he reached out to hold him, he could feel the alarming heat radiating from his body.

Shu Yu reached out and touched the child’s forehead, it was indeed very hot.

This time, when Meng Yunzheng came over, he brought mostly poisons and knockout powder used as weapons. Besides that, he also had some basic medicines for treating internal and external injuries and for reducing fever.

However, there weren’t many, but the medicine was quite strong. He Er’s cousin was very young, and there was no telling if it would be a problem if he took them.

Shu Yu explained the situation to him, and He Er gritted his teeth, ”Let him take it, it’s better than letting the fever persist like this.”

In these times, a fever could be fatal, and even if it wasn’t, prolonged fever could lead to severe damage.

Shu Yu handed the fever-reducing medicine to He Er, who took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and fed it to him.

As for the result, they could only wait and see.

Once his cousin took the medicine, He Er then looked at Uncle Yang and the others, ”I don’t have any skills, so I’ll stay here to take care of my cousin. Uncle Yang, Young Master Meng and Monarch Lu Xiang are skilled people, you should listen to them.”

Old Master Yang nodded, ”We’ll wait for some good news.”

After he finished speaking, he paused, then spoke with some difficulty, ”Although we’ve practiced martial arts, we have no weapons. Even if we find sticks, we’ll still be at a disadvantage against those armed with swords and sabers.”

Meng Yunzheng said, ”No need to worry about that, our people are already looking for weapons. She’ll be here shortly.”

As soon as he finished speaking, footsteps and the clashing sound of metal were heard outside.

Old Master Yang and the others instantly became alert, quickly turning their heads towards the direction of the door.

Meng Yunzheng, however, recognized Xia Yi’s footsteps and took a few steps forward to greet her. Seeing the weapons on her back, his eyes lit up, ”Did you find them?”

”Yes, I found quite a few, but with only two hands, I couldn’t carry much. You can use these first. I’ve hidden the rest in a small shack, I’ll retrieve them later.”

After finishing her statement, she moved the cloth strip from her back to the front, revealing a bundle of swords, sabers, and spears in front of everyone.

Old Master Yang and the others were overjoyed and quickly called to the others, ”Come, come, quickly grab some handy weapons.”

Some of the swords even had bloodstains on them, presumably left behind by black market people after dealing with wild beasts.

The weapons were not of great quality, some blades had nicks, but given the circumstances, they were better than nothing.

Old Master Yang took a spear, happily said to Meng Yunzheng, ”Young Master Meng, you’ve thought of everything, even preparing weapons.”

Meng Yunzheng let them adapt for a while, then he and Shu Yu walked forward together.

After passing the cells holding the young gentlemen, they reached the cells holding the people from the Dueling Field.

They had already heard the commotion here; although Meng Yunzheng and the others spoke softly, the proximity between the cells made it inevitable to catch some of it.

Moreover, their movements were quite loud, not only did they come out of their cells, but they also armed themselves.

The people in these two cells had all fought with fierce beasts, and those who were still alive, even if not particularly skilled, were agile and quickly realized something was up.

They all crowded by the door to listen, catching bits and pieces of the conversation.

When they saw Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu approaching, though they were wary, their eyes glimmered with hope.

Meng Yunzheng stood in front of the door, his gaze sweeping over each of their faces.
