The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1718: Chapter 1718: Our Manpower

Only then did Meng Yunzheng begin to outline the plan, ”According to our analysis, the military strength of Chenggu County is roughly around six hundred men. With our current numbers, it’s still too few, so we need your help, Old Master Yang.”

”Go ahead.”

Meng Yunzheng, ”I know that many of you have house servants and protectors at home. Among them, anyone who is capable should be gathered together, as they will be our main force against them. We have twenty-eight households, although manpower is still limited. But we have weapons in hand, and currently, we are in the dark, while they are in the open, which is to our advantage.”

”Not just twenty-eight households,” He Er said, ”Previously, several young masters and misses from other families were captured and killed by people from the black market. Those families were quite well off, otherwise they wouldn’t have dared to offend County Magistrate Cheng. As long as we tell them the truth, they will surely avenge their family members.”

Young Master He also nodded and said, ”Yes, and our relatives too. My maternal grandparents run a martial arts school. Though I don’t know if they suffered on that night, they are all exceptionally skilled and very loyal and righteous, they will surely help us as well.”

Old Master Yang thought for a moment and asked Meng Yunzheng, ”Does the count of six hundred soldiers in Chenggu County mentioned by Young Master Meng include the men under the three inspectors?”

The latter nodded, then Old Master Yang said, ”Then it shouldn’t be six hundred.”

”Why do you say that?”

”Among the three inspectors, one is my brother-in-law. I know his character very well, he wouldn’t do such treacherous things. The day when the rebels broke into the house, my brother-in-law happened to come to drink with me and talked about how the atmosphere in the county town seemed off recently. Being an inspector, he might be more sensitive to certain anomalies, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. Now, knowing that County Magistrate Cheng is not a good person, it aligns with what he said. When the rebels broke in, my brother-in-law got a cut on his arm trying to save me. I think, if he’s still alive and still in charge of his over a hundred men, he will definitely stand with us.”

Shu Yu asked him, ”What’s your brother-in-law’s name, and what area is he in charge of?”

”His name is Yin Qiu, and he’s in charge of the North City area.”

North City, huh...

The large house leading into the secret passage is south of the city, entirely in the opposite direction of North City. So even if Yin Qiu’s men are patrolling nearby, they probably won’t find this large house looking for his brother-in-law, Old Master Yang.

Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu exchanged a glance, both of them of course hoping that Yin Qiu was still alive.

”If that’s the case, our manpower would be more.”

He Er nodded repeatedly, ”So the situation is still favorable for us, right?”

”Yes, the situation with Inspector Yin’s side is unclear, so we’ll wait and see. For now, everyone’s main task is to go back and gather your forces. Once everyone is assembled, the first places we need to take control of are three locations: the county office and the two city gates. Once we control these three places, everything else will be easier.”

Meng Yunzheng quickly finished detailing the plan, having everything arranged perfectly, and everyone began to feel inexplicably tense.

This is going to war, after all. If they win, they will have achieved great merit.

”It’s just before dawn now, let’s grab the weapons, and everyone take several pieces each. Whatever can be transported out, let’s transport out.”

”Alright, let’s move.”

Old Master Yang immediately led his men to collect the weapons.
