The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1698: Chapter 1698: Taking Over the Black Market

Fifth Guo was breathing heavily, never expecting that he would be outplayed by someone.

Meng Yunzheng fiercely drew his sword out, ”Thanks for your trouble, all for nothing.”

Fifth Guo stared wide-eyed as his body slowly fell backward, with a ’thud’, his eyes wide open in death, unavenged.

Xia Yi walked over to Meng Yunzheng, glanced at Steward Guo, and asked, ”What do we do next?”

Meng Yunzheng pondered, now that things had come to this, it was best to not let this black market exist anymore.

He asked, ”About how many people are left in this black market?”

”Not many, probably around thirty people,” Xia Yi thought for a moment, ”With Fifth Guo dead, the biggest steward here now is Jiang Kuanyu. But the people under Jiang Kuanyu that were useful have all been bitten to death by beasts, so what’s left in this black market is just a bunch of ragtag individuals, incapable of forming a threat.”

There were already few people left guarding the black market, aside from those locked in the cells, there were maybe seventy to eighty in total.

When Meng Yunzheng and the others came in, there were three at the big house, and later Meng Pei opened the Beast Camp, releasing all the beasts. This chaos immediately caused losses to the people of the black market. Combined with the injured, leaving about half of the original guards would be a good outcome.

Earlier they also eliminated Fifth Guo and his three men, along with five or six other people who were originally there.

A rough estimate would be about thirty people left.

These thirty people were scattered in various places, and they all had poor skills.

Xia Yi’s eyes slightly brightened, ”Maybe we can directly capture these people and take control of the black market for ourselves?”

”Hmm, before that, we must deal with Jiang Kuanyu first.” By then, with no leader, and after the shock they just experienced, the people of the black market would be absolutely helpless.

Xia Yi added, ”There are quite a few people around the cells, as long as they’re given weapons, we can have more allies. Especially those originally locked inside to fight beasts, even though most are injured, anyone who can survive a beast attack has some skills and agility. The remaining guards in the market are of no real ability; they’d have more than enough strength to handle them.”

It’s not just those people either, but also those rich young masters from Chenggu County like Young Master He who were captured. Some of them know martial arts as well. Plus, anger and hatred are pent up in their chests. If they’re armed with knives, swords, and spears, they can fight too.

Meng Yunzheng understood, ”Alright, you go find weapons first, I’ll deal with Jiang Kuanyu, then release the prisoners in the cells.”

”Okay, no problem.”

The two of them first hid Fifth Guo’s corpse inside, Xia Yi had already dealt with the rest of the bodies earlier.

Then they cracked open the Beast Camp’s main gate and peered outside. There were not many people around; despite the recent fight, it hadn’t caught anyone’s attention.

The Beast Camp was always noisy, and once the door was closed, the sounds were completely covered. Coupled with the fact that the black market had a limited number of guards, most were gathered in the infirmary while those who weren’t injured had tasks. No one would have thought that Steward Fifth Guo, who came with three experts, would be killed.

Meng Yunzheng and Xia Yi shut the door again and split up to take action.

Meng Yunzheng went to find Jiang Kuanyu. However, he didn’t know that just as he made his way to the Beast Camp, Jiang Kuanyu had already found Shu Yu and their hiding place.
