The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: He’s No Good

Shu Yu pushed her luck, “Next time, you need to change this.”

“Alright.” He reached out, holding her hand, and responded with a smile.

With such a pleasant voice, good looks, and tender eyes, Shu Yu found it hard to resist.

However, what was even harder to handle was Zhao Xi. He turned around and gagged twice, “Can you two choose another time and place for this heart-to-heart? Yun, it’s truly eye-searing to see you so affectionate with her while she’s in this man’s disguise. I’m going to be sick.”

Both Meng Yunzheng and Shu Yu thought, “Can we kick him out?”

Shu Yu, however, looked down at herself, touched her own face, and imagined the scene; indeed, it was rather unsettling.

Fortunately, footsteps were heard outside, and the trio instantly stopped talking. Shu Yu withdrew her hand and stepped back.

The next moment, there was a knock on the door.

“Eldest Young Master, this old servant heard you have returned.”

Meng Yunzheng silently mouthed, “It’s the butler of the Gong Family.”

Zhao Xi went to open the door, and sure enough, saw the butler bowing at the doorway, with many servants behind him.

The butler, along with the servants, immediately came over to greet him, his eyes slightly moist, “Eldest Young Master, you’re back, I knew you were wronged. But I never expected the murderer to be the young lady. Alas, the Madam is now deeply affected, bedridden. The household matters can only be decided by you, the Eldest Young Master.”

Meng Yunzheng waved his hand, “I really don’t understand the matters of the household; everything shall be arranged by the butler. These past few days I’ve neither eaten well nor slept well in the cell, and I’m truly exhausted. I wish to rest for a while. As for the second brother’s funeral, let’s discuss it when father returns.”

“Yes, yes, the Eldest Young Master has suffered and should rest well.” The butler said, directing the servants behind him to step forward, “I’ll have them tidy up for the Eldest Young Master, and for Young Master Zhao and this…”

He looked at Shu Yu, unsure of how to address her.

But Meng Yunzheng showed no intention of introducing her, merely saying, “This is the attendant by Lord Jing’s side, who escorted me back.”

Shu Yu timely lowered her voice and spoke, “Lord Jing instructed me to wait for Lord Gong’s return and to report the case details to Lord Gong.”

“I see.” The butler nodded, “Then I must trouble you; I will have people prepare tea and snacks.”

After he spoke, he instructed the servants behind him to get busy.

However, after they prepared the tea and snacks, Meng Yunzheng dismissed everyone.

The butler wanted to say something, but considering the current state of the Gong Family, this Eldest Young Master had effectively become the only heir of the Gong Family, and no one dared to defy his words.

Thus, the butler left with the others without even questioning.

As soon as he left, Zhao Xi couldn’t help but curse, “Old scoundrel.”

He turned his head to Shu Yu and said, “This one’s no good either. He used to heavily aid Madam Gong in doing evil, and now that he knows Madam Gong can’t be relied upon anymore, he’s immediately switching allegiances here.”

Shu Yu wasn’t concerned about the butler’s intentions; after all, after today, Gong Qiu would likely be finished. By then, not just this butler, but the entire future of the Gong Family would be uncertain.

She sat across from Meng Yunzheng, “What do we do next?”

“Just wait.”

“Wait for what?”

Meng Yunzheng smiled, “Wait for Lord Jing to send someone to take you back.”

Shu Yu thought he was being deliberately mysterious, but indeed at this moment, Lord Jing was heading to the Imperial Palace with the case files concerning the Gong Family to present them to the Emperor.
