The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1069: Chapter 1069: Meng Yunzheng’s Hometown

Shu Yu turned her head to glance at the map on the table, ”Huajiang Prefecture?”

”Miss may not know, but Huajiang Prefecture is my old home.” Ying Xi smiled bitterly, ”Since being sold, I’ve never returned to Huajiang Prefecture.”

Shu Yu was momentarily stunned, then immediately remembered.

She thought to herself that the name Huajiang Prefecture sounded a bit familiar when she heard it.

She asked Ying Xi to sit opposite her, ”Was it the Ying Family that ran an escort agency in Huajiang Prefecture?”

When she first purchased the Ying siblings, the agency had mentioned where their original hometown was. But back then, Shu Yu had bought quite a few people and only listened briefly, not remembering everything.

Later, when Meng Yunzheng met Ying Dong, Shu Yu learned that the Ying siblings’ real surname was Lin, and Father Lin used to be an escort at Meng Pei’s escort agency.

Before the Meng family encountered trouble, the escort agency was located in a place called Tianning County, under the jurisdiction of the prefecture.

Shu Yu suddenly looked down at the map on the table, ”If we go to Huajiang Prefecture, will we pass by Tianning County?”

Ying Xi shook her head, ”No, we won’t.”

However...

”But it’s very close.”

Shu Yu also saw that going to the capital of Huajiang Prefecture indeed wouldn’t pass through Tianning County, but Tianning County was nearby, about forty li away according to the map, really quite close.

Shu Yu was considering whether to visit Tianning County; she looked up at Ying Xi.

She saw a look of longing in her eyes.

”Ying Xi, do you really want to go to Tianning County?”

Ying Xi paused and slightly lowered her head, saying, ”My father is buried on the mountain outside Tianning County.”

Although Father Lin went to the Ying family’s escort agency in Huajiang Prefecture after Meng Pei’s escort agency was disbanded, his old home was still in Tianning County. He passed away two years after going to the prefecture and was brought back to the county town for burial.

”I was only five when my father passed away,” Ying Xi said softly, ”Although I was young then, I remember he loved me dearly. Later, after my mother remarried, my brother and I were in an awkward position, even changing our surname, and going out was not easy. That’s why we only had the chance to return about once every two years. Before we were sold, we had only visited him twice.”

Not to mention after being sold, during those four years after being sold, they hadn’t even returned to Huajiang Prefecture, let alone Tianning County.

Both she and her brother felt that it might be hard to return home in the future, and they wouldn’t be able to see their parents again.

Who would have thought that just over a month after following the miss, they would be accompanying her to a place so far away, even so close to their old home.

Because of this, Ying Xi found it difficult to control her emotions.

But she knew that the miss was on her way to the capital and didn’t have time to be delayed in these places.

”Miss, although I want to see my father, our journey is urgent. If we pass by Huajiang Prefecture on our way back, I hope to beg the miss to let me return once to pay my respects to my parents.”

Shu Yu gently tapped her fingers on the table, thought for a moment, and said, ”Here’s the plan, we’ll see how things go then. After all, going to Huajiang Prefecture by boat depends on whether the timing works out. If there’s no boat available when we get there, we might have to wait a day or two. In that case, we’ll take a trip to Tianning County. If we happen to catch a boat to the capital, then we’ll go the next time we come back.”

She thought that by the time they returned from the capital, the matters of Gong Qiu would also be resolved.

Tianning County was where Meng Yunzheng had lived for ten years; he would probably want to go back and have a look too.

Upon hearing this, Ying Xi immediately nodded, ”Alright.”
