The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1066: Chapter 1066 Shu Yu Goes to the Capital

The old lady was a bit surprised to see her return at this hour, but Shu Yu had already entered the room and started packing.

In the evening, the whole family was home, and she finally mentioned her plan to go to the capital.

The Lu family was startled, ”Are you going to the capital?”

This time Shu Yu did not hide it, to avoid worrying the family. She nodded, ”I am worried about Yun. Since he left, I can’t focus on anything. Now that things are stable here at home, I might as well go to the capital to check on things.”

The old lady scolded playfully, ”Shameless.”

Shu Yu held her hand, ”Grandmother, this is what you call honesty. Besides, I’ve thought it over, and I haven’t been to the capital yet. I’m taking this chance to see it. I also want to understand the market there, because I plan to expand the planting of my sunflowers. Whether it’s oil pressing or making snacks, they’ll need to be sold outside. Our Jiangyuan County is just a bit small, if the price goes up, few would buy them. The capital is different, plenty of dignitaries and people accepting new things.”

Though she said so, the old lady knew it was just an excuse, her main concern being Meng Yunzheng.

Otherwise, if she wanted to sell things, wouldn’t Dongan Province not suffice if Jiangyuan County didn’t?

Yu is capable, and in the capital, there are reliable figures like Lord Yao and Lord Qi, so the old lady is at ease.

The Lu family didn’t really understand the relationship between Meng Yunzheng and Gong Qiu, nor did they know he was involved in significant matters like a succession battle. They just thought he had important things to do, at most guessing he was returning to reclaim family assets, such ’big matters’.

Hence when Shu Yu said she would go to the capital, the Lu family exchanged glances but did not stop her.

On the side, Shuyou raised her head, looking at her hesitantly.

She wanted to go too, but now the shop had just stabilized, she couldn’t leave. Moreover, she wasn’t as clever or agile as Yu, and this time was different from when Yu was exiled; she feared she’d hold Yu back.

Shu Yu knew what she was thinking, and reached out to hold her hand, saying, ”Sis, don’t worry. Once I get to the capital, I will keep an eye on Zhao Xi for you. I won’t let him flirt or get involved with any other girls.”

”Pfft.” Shuyou was amused by her, couldn’t help but say, ”Brother Zhao isn’t that kind of person.”

”You’re speaking up for him now?”

Shuyou rolled her eyes at her, then took a deep breath, clasping her hand, ”You need to take good care of yourself on the journey.”

”Don’t worry, do you think I’d let myself get the short end of the stick?”

With that, the matter was settled, and Shu Yu wrapped up things in Jiangyuan County, then left with Ying Xi the next morning.

She went to the county office and informed Xiang Weinan.

Xiang Weinan’s face showed no surprise whatsoever, ”Alright, if you want to go, then go. You know people in the capital, I’m not worried.”

He paused, then handed over an iron plate, ”If needed, go to Xiang Mansion to find someone. If not, then return it to me once you’re back.”

Xiang Weinan’s main family was in the capital. He came to Jiangyuan County firstly to gain experience for future promotion, and secondly to investigate matters concerning the Shu family in Dongan Province. Now that the Shu family was exiled, Xiang Weinan might be transferred back to the capital anytime.

She accepted the iron plate, ”Thank you very much.”

Xiang Weinan waved his hand, telling her to be careful along the way.

Shu Yu took her leave, and with Ying Xi, directly exited the city gate, heading straight for the manor.
