The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1097: Chapter 1097: Gong Ya Undermines from Within

Gong Ya plans to eliminate Second Young Master Gong by taking him out directly.

As long as Second Young Master Gong is gone, Madam Gong won’t be able to form an alliance with the Duke Liu Mansion, and the deal with Ms. Dong will fall through. By then, she won’t have to be forced to marry that disgusting man.

Moreover, now that Meng Yunzheng is back, she plans to pin Gong Chang’s death on him, ensuring that Madam Gong won’t spare him.

This is a plan that kills two birds with one stone. With both young masters of the Gong family gone, she would become the only young lady of the family.

Even if her father has been neglecting her, he would have to pay more attention to her at that point, and her own marriage arrangements would definitely not be delayed.

”This Gong Ya... So young, yet her thoughts are very vicious.”

Shu Yu couldn’t help but sigh. If this plan is executed well, it is indeed a once-and-for-all strategy.

Meng Yunzheng chuckled, ”Indeed, there isn’t a single member of the Gong family who isn’t deeply scheming.”

Including himself.

Shu Yu couldn’t help but reach out and hold his hand, ”And then?”

Meng Yunzheng shook his head, ”And then, she succeeded. When I returned to the Gong family, I was not only alive and kicking but also able to speak. For Madam Gong and her son, it was too much of a shock, causing them to lose their composure, just giving Gong Ya an opportunity to strike.”

With Gong Chang’s death, the first person to be suspected by not only Madam Gong but also Gong Qiu was Meng Yunzheng.

Yet Gong Qiu reacted swiftly. With one son dead, he couldn’t afford for his other son, even if guilty, to meet the same fate. Besides, there wasn’t any evidence proving he killed Gong Chang.

However, he underestimated the pain of Madam Gong losing her son. With Gong Chang’s death, all her hopes and dreams were shattered. She was desperate to bring down the entire Gong family with her. Why would she care about the family’s reputation and future?

Madam Gong blew things out of proportion and found poison in Meng Yunzheng’s room. Coupled with Zhao Xi’s identity as a doctor, Meng Yunzheng became the undisputed murderer and was taken away by the authorities.

Shu Yu furrowed her brows, ”So Zhao Xi is also in the prison?”

Meng Yunzheng nodded, ”Actually, at this moment, being in prison is safer than being outside.”

Shu Yu caught his implication. She lowered her voice and asked, ”So you deliberately fell into Gong Ya’s trap because... things outside are going to get chaotic, and the Fifth Prince is planning to make a move?”

Meng Yunzheng praised his lady for being so smart and perceptive. He nodded slightly, ”With Gong Chang dead and Madam Gong going mad at home, and me being framed as a murderer in prison, the entire Gong family is in chaos. Even someone as scheming as Gong Qiu is bound to slip. Once he’s flustered, he’ll leave many openings.”

Shu Yu’s eyes lit up, and she continued, ”Then his affair with that person in the palace will easily be exposed.”

She understood now; this was why Meng Yunzheng allowed himself to be caught in the trap.

If they had found the real murderer right away, Gong Qiu would have been furious at the moment, but he would have soon controlled the situation, and the Gong family wouldn’t be in disarray.

Now, with Meng Yunzheng being held in the prison and Madam Gong itching to kill him, she would be outside desperately trying to solidify evidence of his crime.

Gong Qiu wouldn’t be able to suppress the matter.

Shu Yu understood his plan and nodded slightly, ”So when can you get out?” Even knowing that with Lord Jing there, Meng Yunzheng wouldn’t suffer much, she couldn’t help but worry about unexpected events occurring.

Meng Yunzheng did a quick calculation, ”I’ve been here for three days already, probably... in the next day or two, about time.”

Just as he finished speaking, there came a knock on the door from outside.
