The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086: Arrival in the Capital

Staying on the third floor, it was indeed much quieter.

The room had a great location, allowing one to see the scenery outside when the windows were opened. The breeze brought in the fragrance of flowers, making it extremely comfortable.

With such a spacious, bright, and refreshing room, Shu Yu naturally no longer needed to go to the deck for fresh air.

She spent most of her time in the room, reading, sleeping, occasionally pondering family matters, and thinking about how to meet Meng Yunzheng once they reached the capital.

As for Young Master Yao on the second floor, it was unclear whether he understood his misunderstanding after hearing Ying Xi’s words that day. Ever since Shu Yu moved to the third floor, he hadn’t appeared again.

The ship occasionally docked to load and unload goods, and Shu Yu would walk ashore with Ying Xi, taking a stroll and buying some items.

Of course, she would also check on Dabai from time to time, worried it might not adapt well to the ship. Fortunately, Dabai was quite adaptable and in good spirits.

Even so, Young Master Yao was nowhere to be seen, perhaps he had disembarked already.

The advantage of traveling by ship was not having to worry about finding lodging at night, but it was indeed exhausting. Spending so many days on it made one feel quite weary.

Just when Shu Yu was about to reach her limit, the ship finally arrived in the capital.

Hearing the lively shouts of the crew from downstairs, Shu Yu exhaled deeply, stretched lazily, and said to Ying Xi, ”Let’s go, disembark.”

Finally, they had arrived.

Ying Xi picked up the luggage and followed behind Shu Yu as they disembarked.

Dabai was led off the ship by the crew, and Ying Xi quickly hitched it to the carriage, leading it away from the dock.

”It’s bustling here.”

The dock was crowded with people, many donkeys and horses, many goods, and many ships, including several official ships.

Shu Yu and her companions, leading the carriage, finally managed to leave the bustling dock and reached the main street.

Ying Xi sat on the carriage shaft, walking slowly while watching the lively street, sighing softly, ”The capital under the emperor’s rule is indeed different.”

”Yes, it’s very prosperous.” Shu Yu lifted the curtain to look outside, nodding gently.

She had been to Dongan Province, Linzhang Prefecture, and passed through Shangyang Prefecture and Huajiang Prefecture. Compared to the capital, these places were significantly different in terms of economy, population, and even security.

”Miss, where are we going next?”

”Let’s find an inn to stay.”

Ying Xi asked puzzledly, ”Aren’t we going to find Young Master Meng and Young Master Zhao?”

Shu Yu shook her head, ”No rush, let’s understand the situation first.” It wouldn’t do to rush in recklessly; what if it disrupts his plans?

Ying Xi didn’t quite understand, but when it came to matters that required thinking, she just listened to the miss.

Shu Yu had previously heard Meng Yunzheng talk about the layout of the capital; most officials’ residences were in the west of the city, where the Gong Family was located.

Thus, Shu Yu chose an inn in the west of the city, although the room rates were a bit expensive.

But there was no other choice; staying here was not only convenient but also very safe and quiet.

It was still early, so after Shu Yu secured an upper room, she and Ying Xi had lunch inside. Afterward, they rested for half an hour before preparing to go out.

Before leaving, Shu Yu took out the makeup kit from the baggage and disguised herself and Ying Xi.

By the time they stepped out, they were already dressed in dashing men’s clothes.

Shu Yu strolled through the streets, and as evening approached, she happened to arrive at the gate of the Gong Family’s residence.
