My Alleged Husband

Chapter 583: Chapter 562: Sincerity?_1

This night, Ran Zhihan, just like before, waited until her husband fell asleep, then quietly slipped to the basement warehouse to see the man who had filled her with lies.

When Chen Gang opened his eyes and saw the person before him, his heart was filled with excitement. He always knew that no matter what he did, this woman would always hold a place for him in her heart, but what he hadn’t expected was that she hadn’t come to seek him out but to confront him with accusations.

”Zhihan, I knew as soon as you came that you couldn’t let go of me. I knew I existed deep within your heart, and I understand that what I did in the past made you sad and caused you trouble. I’m sorry. I am sincerely apologizing. I never thought it would end up damaging the relationship between you and your husband to this extent. I hope you can forgive me and not hold it against me for doing what I did just because I truly love you!”

At that moment, Ran Zhihan found it almost funny. How could this man still try to deceive her with lies, time and time again? He had ruined the happiest marriage of her life, and now on what basis did he claim to truly love her?

But she knew very well that she couldn’t just bluntly express all these thoughts. She needed to hide the deeper thoughts within her heart to extract more information from him, making Chen Gang admit whether he had just used her as a tool.

”Yes, deep inside, I can’t bear to leave you. I wanted to see you, to ask you how you’ve truly viewed me as a woman all this time. Do you really not mind that I’ve had a child with another man? Do you really not care that I’ve lived as someone else’s wife for so many years without waiting for you, leaving you waiting helplessly abroad all alone? After all that, could you really forgive how I’ve hurt you in the end?”

In truth, sometimes Chen Gang also acted like a fool. No matter how smart a person is, in the face of love, they can become utterly foolish. Seeing his beloved girl ask these questions, his heart leaped with joy. He had not expected this moment to come so abruptly, and he felt it was the happiest moment of his life as he started to boast shamelessly.

”At first, I really did mind. Which man wouldn’t mind his beloved having a child with another man? Who wouldn’t care about waiting painfully abroad for so many years, only to return home and find his cherished woman already married to someone else, already a mother to another’s child? If you were that man, would you not mind?

I must admit that at the beginning, I really was using you. I wanted to create discord between you and him, so I could take advantage of the situation. At that time, I wondered just how unbreakable your relationship really was. If it was so strong, then there was no way I, an outsider, could cause you to argue. But I never anticipated how effortlessly a few words from me could anger your husband. I didn’t expect my words could make his doubts about you so deep. A husband who doesn’t trust you, what’s the point of having him by your side? I want to ask if your heart really only has room for her and cannot see the love I have for you? Maybe you think my love isn’t genuine, but did you ever wonder how I managed to get through those years abroad?”

”So what you’re saying is that from the beginning you’ve been using me, thinking of exploiting me to destroy my relationship with my husband so that you could then take advantage of the situation?”

”Of course. If you and your husband didn’t argue or divorce, how could I possibly have a chance to be with you? I am a normal man; I could never want a woman who shares her bed lovingly with her husband and yet simultaneously acts affectionate with me. I cannot accept such a woman. So the only way is for me to make my beloved woman completely sever ties with her husband...”

”So, I wasn’t wrong; you have been using me from the very start. If that’s the case, what right do you have to say you truly love me? Your ’love’ is unbearable for me; it makes me feel utterly devastated inside. All I ever wanted was a stable life, yet in the end, I discovered no matter how much I longed for stability, you would never provide that for me. All I wanted was to live peacefully without getting involved in other people’s conflicts, yet I never imagined I would become the object of your struggle!”

”No matter what, from the very beginning, deep down, I truly loved you. All I wanted was to be with you. You have always been the woman I loved the most, the one I’ve been waiting for. No matter what you turn into, I will never leave you. But can’t you just wait a few more years for me? If you had been willing to wait just a few more years, how could it have come to this? When I saw him tormenting me, the tears of pain you shed for me in your eyes, you know at that moment, even as I suffered physically, my heart was leaping for joy.

Because my beloved woman had finally shed her first tear for me, and that to me was more than enough, incredibly precious. But I am still not satisfied. I still long to have you, to continue living with you; that is my ultimate innermost desire.

Not confessing and being together with you sooner was only because I felt I wasn’t worthy of you. You, such a perfect woman, and me, what right did I have to be with someone like you? Back then, I felt so inferior that maybe only after completing my studies and coming back from studying abroad could I rightfully marry you. But when I returned, it was all too late; you were no longer the you of before, you no longer had a place for me in your heart, you had already chosen the path you should take, and you left me with no way out.”

”Please, never tell me again that you truly love me. Your sincerity is too fake; I can’t handle it!

No matter your motives for choosing to be with me, I hope you understand that the past has passed. We can never return to how we started, and I already have my own child. I just want to live with my husband. I really love him; from the moment I met him in our youth to now, my heart has only loved him. At first, I might have had feelings for you, but now, that flutter has long vanished. Please don’t disturb my life anymore. I will find a way to plead with him to let you go. Just don’t ever appear in my life again...”
