My Alleged Husband

Chapter 581: Chapter 560: Don’t Mind?_1

”What are you lot doing? Didn’t you hear me tell you to use force? Don’t listen to what he’s saying, just treat it as though you’re listening to a stranger, or a foreigner whose language you don’t understand—slit him deep!”

In fact, Chen Gang had a motive for saying those words; by doing so, Zhang Yichen would be even less likely to forgive his wife. Once a woman has been unfaithful, how could a man, as a husband, accept a cheating wife and keep her by his side? No man could tolerate such humiliation, such an enormous ”cuckold’s hat.”

”Zhihan, did you hear that? Chen Gang is still pleading for you. You should be grateful to him deep down, and yet you must hate me, right? Hate that I still press on relentlessly, even though he’s humbled himself to beg me. Do you understand why I do this?”

Whether you understand or not, let me make myself clear. He said those words in order to destroy our relationship. After all, which man could endure his wife spending a night with another man and then continue on as if nothing happened, living a happy life? Do you think a man like that deserves to be a man? He keeps challenging my bottom line, thinking that as long as he angers me with his words, I’ll take you to get a divorce and then he’ll have an opportunity to pursue you again. It wouldn’t be impossible that you might be swayed into joining him either.

But I was born not to be a gentleman; I do not make way for others, nor will I give up what I’ve worked so hard for. I will make him pay a heavy price. I will let him understand what he should touch and what he should not. Once certain lines are crossed, there’s no turning back. If he had targeted someone else, I wouldn’t have said a thing. But he dared to lust after my wife. How could I, as a man, bear the thought of my wife being touched by another man, yet still act as though nothing happened, sharing a bed with her every night? What do you think my heart feels?

At times, Zhihan, it’s not your fault; it’s just that you’re too naive and trusting. You believe whatever people say, never doubting the truth. But do you understand that some people are not worthy of your respect? Your trust is given, and they use it to hurt you. Now you should realize why our once happy life has turned into this mess. All of this is because you trusted someone you shouldn’t have, who in turn has bitten back. Our marital life is now in shambles without end. Who benefits the most from this? Don’t you have any idea? Or can you not see why things have turned out this way? Do you always feel I’m being unreasonable? Don’t you think my actions are beyond comprehension?”

Although Chen Gang had long known how extreme and tough his beloved’s husband could be, when he heard these words spoken so plainly, it was beyond his expectation. He did not imagine the husband could state these things so openly, nor did he expect that what had been a great opportunity to exploit would be so clearly revealed by the husband. He could no longer continue the charade according to his plan.

When Ran Zhihan heard what her husband had said, she turned to look at Chen Gang.

”Is what my husband said true? Have you been using me all along? Don’t you realize how precious the trust I gave you was? I’m naive like that, I always believe what others tell me, especially you, my classmate of so many years. Why don’t you understand what I truly want in my heart? Why don’t you understand what kind of person I am? You don’t know me at all. How can you say you love me? Is this the kind of love you have for me?

You’ve hurt me, shattered my happy life; is this what you wanted? In fact, you’re the one who is truly selfish, never considering whether others would agree with your actions, not thinking about how many people your actions would hurt. All you cared for was your happiness, which is built upon the suffering of everyone else. Do you think you deserve such happiness?

I truly never expected you to treat me this way, using the trust I had in you. Regardless of your intentions, I don’t find your actions excusable. Do you understand that? I trusted you so much, even more than all my classmates and some of my closest friends. And this is how you repay me? My marital relationship is broken, my happy life is over; are you feeling proud inside? Have you finally achieved what you wanted, seeing the woman you loved the most becoming miserable because of you?”

”Zhihan, don’t listen to his nonsense. I don’t mean that, I never intended to hurt you like this. It was beyond my control, I couldn’t suppress my feelings. I only wished to be with you. I know these thoughts are sordid, and I realize the pain I’ve caused you, but I still can’t control the desires of my heart. I wanted to follow it just this once, but I didn’t expect such a huge dilemma, bringing you so much trouble. I know you must hate me now, but I hope you can trust me one more time, not to believe what your husband says. Sometimes, even a spouse’s words aren’t the truth. Will you believe me, please?”

Chen Gang yelled loudly, afraid he had lost his chance and would never have another opportunity to win the heart of the girl he had yearned for over the years.

”I’m tired. You all enjoy yourselves. When you figure out what you should say and do, I will come to see you with my wife. But for now, you bask alone in this ’joyous’ moment...”

After speaking to his subordinates, Zhang Yichen turned and left immediately. He couldn’t stand another moment in the warehouse, facing the things inside, knowing his woman had been claimed by another. How could his heart not ache?
