Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2696: Chapter 1930: Troublemaker_3

”Who is it?” asked Maiyous, puzzled by Anlos’s words.

Before Anlos revealed Bai Xiaosheng’s identity, he spoke in a half-sarcastic tone, ”I have heard that our Maiyous Family excels in commercial investigation, is skilled in intelligence analysis, and has a strong grasp of clues. But the person you sent this time was rather negligent, discussing matters without understanding the full picture, which possibly led to problems that shouldn’t have occurred.”

Though the words might sound like praise, there was a hidden mockery in them.

Maiyous fell silent for a few moments and then said gravely, ”My people were incompetent.”

Anlos deflected the responsibility with a chuckle, without keeping him guessing any longer.

After all, once Maiyous paid attention, he could quickly find out the truth.

”That Mr. Bai is not an ordinary person; he is a newly appointed chieftain in Oshan, personally conferred by the Supreme Chieftain Ogade, with territory at the crucial western suburb of Eisenlag.”

”He also holds two other identities: one as a close friend of Mr. Awak Wak Lakla, and another as a special business advisor of Oshan!”

”Brady, Hogson, and I managed to gain entry into Oshan’s business world almost without dispute, thanks to his mediation. Our current mutually beneficial cooperation is also his doing.”

”So, you see, Mr. Maiyous, I do genuinely wish to cooperate with you, but I have only recently found my footing, and disrupting this situation could result in significant losses for me.”

Anlos’s words rendered Maiyous silent.

This unexpected news and the change in circumstances were beyond Maiyous’s expectations, leaving him unable to make a decision in such a short time.

He could not believe that his illegitimate daughter was so capable, not only associated with the Anlos Family but also friends with such an important chieftain of Oshan!

No, Maiyous immediately realized there was an error in this line of thought.

Why would his illegitimate daughter earn the protection of the Anlos Family? Upon discovering she was his daughter, he thought she had some fortuitous encounter leading to her connection with Anlos.

But now it seems that it was the relationship with her chieftain friend that led to Anlos’s protection.

Anlos hadn’t informed him of these things beforehand, leaving his people unprepared when meeting that chieftain.

Thinking about it, the person he sent probably displeased that Chieftain Bai, leading to these changes...

Something is still not right!

Maiyous frowned in deep thought, finding it unlikely that Chieftain Bai would change his stance so swiftly and decisively, and not just because of some grievance his friend experienced?

Or maybe... his family’s return to West Africa and entry into Oshan threaten to disrupt his current position, so he resists.

Alternatively, he might be forcing his family to submit to him in Oshan’s business world.

Maiyous was not just contemplating Bai Xiaosheng but also Anlos, suspecting Anlos’s intentions.

Wouldn’t it be possible that Anlos wanted cooperation with them, fearing the loss of their current favorable situation, and also didn’t want to offend them, thus using Bai’s chieftain status to disrupt?

Or maybe, he wanted the family to realize that returning to West Africa and re-entering Oshan meant disrupting the current alliance, seeing if the Maiyous Family could handle an Oshan chieftain, allowing them to finalize their decision and benefit from it...

Anlos, that cunning rascal!

Maiyous couldn’t help but curse inwardly.

After a long silence, Anlos spoke first on the phone, ”Mr. Maiyous, I think you understand now.”

His words were full of hidden implications.

Maiyous exhaled heavily and replied, ”Mr. Anlos, thank you for informing me. I have some urgent matters to handle here, so let’s leave it at that for now. We’ll talk later. I’ll hang up now.”

”Alright,” Anlos said with a smile on the phone.

The tone was such that both parties knew exactly what each other meant.

Suppressing his irritation, Maiyous hung up the phone.

On the other end, Anlos looked at his phone with a mocking smile.

To make such an arrogant figure lose leverage in a conversation with him was truly satisfying.

”So, now what, Mr. Maiyous? Will you lower yourself to join us, only to rank behind the Hogson Family?”

”Or will you break Bai Xiaosheng’s setup, reshuffling the share of interests, offering a price that would tempt me, securing our cooperation?”

Anlos smiled and muttered to himself, ”I’ll be watching eagerly!”

Even though Milo was Bai Xiaosheng’s friend, he too was, yet Anlos still aimed to benefit his family.

He was a businessman, and pursuing profit was his true nature.

...

After hanging up, Maiyous in East Africa furrowed his brow, his gaze fixed on the globe’s depiction of Oshan on his desk, lost in deep thought.

The change in circumstances was unexpected; an Asian chieftain’s sudden emergence made his original plan void.

Previously, he had underestimated the situation!

He had thought that teaming up with Anlos, the two families would dominate the market, renewing West Africa’s reputation for the Maiyous Family.

Afterward, he planned to gradually exclude Anlos.

Now it seems Anlos was pleased with the current situation, and Brady and Hogson weren’t fighting for themselves but were united.

Even teaming up with Anlos, dealing with the cooperative Brady and Hogson wouldn’t be easy.

The cost was too high.

Moreover, Anlos was deceitful.

To return to West Africa and reclaim the market, the first step is to break their alliance!

If not, they couldn’t just enter Oshan, as West Africa would also be difficult to reclaim and compete for its markets!

Maiyous’s eyes narrowed.

According to Anlos, the current situation was orchestrated by that chieftain with the title of ”special advisor.”

To disrupt their stable situation meant becoming his enemy!

Mere chieftain, Maiyous didn’t find him threatening, even if he had made significant contributions to Oshan.

Once the family entered Oshan, once Oshan profited, they wouldn’t pursue it further.

That chieftain wouldn’t be an issue...

While pondering, a phone call came through; the caller ID showed it was Levante.

The old butler had weighed his options and decided to call his master to relay the new situation, even at the risk of shame.

Maiyous answered the phone.

On the other end, Levante, anxious, said, ”Mr. Maiyous, there has been a change in the situation. The person we were speaking with is not from the Anlos Family but...”

”It’s a chieftain named Bai Xiaosheng,” Maiyous replied, ”I already know and have been mocked by Anlos because of it.”

Levante was so stunned by his words that he fell silent.

”I have to thank you for your incompetence,” Levante added, ”Next, I’ll need you to do some things. This time, don’t mess up!”
