Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2659: Chapter 1914: Brady’s Reluctance

On the night Bai Xiaosheng settled in Eisenlag, Chief Ogade sent formal identity documents and a detailed map of the territory.

It seems these items were prepared well in advance.

After Bai Xiaosheng received them, he invited the arriving butler to the side, seemingly having something to say.

The butler, on the other hand, proactively smiled and said, ”Mr. Bai Xiaosheng, Chief Ogade also asked me to inquire about your chieftain appointment ceremony. When would it be convenient for you, so we can make it grand?”

”I was just about to speak to you about this,” Bai Xiaosheng said. ”Could you please convey to Chief Ogade if the ceremony could be postponed.”

The butler looked at Bai Xiaosheng in surprise and then smiled, ”It’s not that it can’t be done... but why?”

Bai Xiaosheng lowered his voice to share a few reasons, asking the butler to pass them on to Chief Ogade.

The butler nodded repeatedly, smiling, ”I have remembered, I’ll go back and tell Chief Ogade.”

Bai Xiaosheng thanked him once again.

After the butler left, Chen Feiqiu came to find Bai Xiaosheng, wanting to take him around Eisenlag’s night market together and enjoy some fresh beer and barbecue to celebrate his attainment of the chieftain position.

Upon hearing that Bai Xiaosheng wanted to delay the inauguration ceremony, Chen Feiqiu was also quite curious.

Bai Xiaosheng’s explanation to him was that he wanted to keep the impact of this news to use in business negotiations.

Chen Feiqiu smiled at this and did not dwell on the topic, pulling Bai Xiaosheng and the others out of the ”Walking Palace” and heading to Eisenlag’s bustling district...

On the other side, Chief Ogade received Bai Xiaosheng’s reply just after completing a treatment session.

Lady Daliya was massaging his shoulders, relaxing his muscles.

”Alright, understood. Then we’ll delay the ceremony and keep the news confidential until Bai Xiaosheng says it’s okay to proceed,” Chief Ogade said, dismissing the butler with a wave.

Lady Daliya smiled, ”It seems our new chieftain is already dedicated to the development of the territory.”

Chief Ogade reclined against the backrest, eyes closed, and smiled, ”Isn’t that wonderful? It seems I just need to offer silent support without any interference.”

Lady Daliya also smiled gently.

Bai Xiaosheng had actually anticipated their attitude; otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked the butler to convey the message on his behalf.

The matter was thus set aside for now.

Two days later.

In the general manager’s office at Keruoge Corporation, Brady was on the phone with one of his confidants.

”Where is Mr. Hogson? Is the front hall arranged? Tell the administration to send unrelated people away, and try to ensure no one sees him. When he arrives, please have him take the private elevator directly to me.”

As Brady instructed, he got up to fetch a tea set, intending to brew a good pot of tea in anticipation of the guest— Mr. Hogson.

These days, Brady had been contemplating matters related to Oshan and Bai Xiaosheng.

Toward Bai Xiaosheng, Brady harbored enduring resentment and was annoyed not only because Bai Xiaosheng disrupted his layout in Oshan, putting him behind Hogson and Anlos, but also because Bai Xiaosheng’s ”friend” was about to enter Oshan’s business circle, becoming a fourth force!

Brady felt his concern was well-founded.

Although Bai Xiaosheng currently served Oshan with fairness and impartiality, who could predict the future!

With Bai Xiaosheng’s resources in Oshan, if he later supported his so-called friend’s competition from behind, who could compete with him!

Brady considered himself prudent, preparing in advance against future trouble.

In his view, there is a kind of person who is the most terrifying in this world— those considered ”one’s own.” It’s when one’s own people deal with each other that it’s the most defenseless.

This time, didn’t Bai Xiaosheng give special ”treatment” to him, a colleague from Zhenbei Group?

Should there be another conflict in the future, Bai Xiaosheng, as ”one’s own,” would undoubtedly be harsher on his side than on outsiders!

Brady believed precautions must be taken!

However, he clearly forgot that he was the one who initially held animosity toward Bai Xiaosheng...

Currently, with Bai Xiaosheng on the rise in Oshan, Brady’s contingency plan involved forming an alliance to protect his interests.

In Oshan’s business community, there are four major external forces; excluding him and Bai Xiaosheng’s ”friend,” only Anlos and Hogson remain.

Anlos had been friendly with Bai Xiaosheng from the beginning, with Milo being Bai Xiaosheng’s friend. Now that Bai Xiaosheng was flourishing in Oshan, it seemed unlikely to persuade Anlos to take action against Bai Xiaosheng.

Thus, Brady targeted Hogson.

The Hogson family suffered great business losses because of Bai Xiaosheng, forced to concede to Oshan and Bai Xiaosheng, losing both face and dignity. To say they harbored no resentment toward Bai Xiaosheng was impossible.

Furthermore, the past competitions between Keruoge Corporation and the Hogson family were not intense and lacked conflicts of interest.

Moreover, Brady and Hogson had neither long-standing nor recent grievances.

This foundation for cooperation was quite favorable.

Moreover, there was a rare opportunity before Brady’s eyes today— Mr. Hogson was visiting this city.

Brady seized the opportunity, instructing his confidant to invite Hogson over to discuss a potential alliance.

To ensure Hogson had no worries, Brady instructed his subordinates to avoid attracting attention, thus making the gesture evident to Hogson.

Never underestimate these minor details, as people of their standing actually attach great importance to small issues.
