Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2687: Chapter 1927: A Fateful Encounter from the Heavens

Another day arrived, with perfect weather. At dawn, the sun rose, the sky was azure blue, and white clouds floated by.

Early in the morning, Bai Xiaosheng took Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying to a small hill in the western outskirts of Eisenlag for a picnic, to relax for a day.

This hill, located on the edge of the city, had been confirmed to have no mineral resources. In future development plans, it would only become a scenic spot in a park. This would allow for more reasonable use of the land and cater to the needs of the surrounding residents.

These residents, for decades, have already taken this place as a spot to unwind.

From the top of the hill, Bai Xiaosheng and his group saw several people in groups of three or five, laying picnic blankets on the grass, lying down or sitting, enjoying themselves leisurely.

If they brought a basket of cold snacks and drinks, they could have a pleasant morning or a leisurely whole day.

Bai Xiaosheng and the others also found a good spot, laid a picnic mat, and sat there.

Lin Weiwei took out the prepared fruits and snacks, and brewed a pot of refreshing black tea.

The three of them sat there chatting comfortably in the gentle breeze and lush green grass.

During the conversation, Bai Xiaosheng gazed into the distance.

From here, in the distance, three bustling construction sites could be faintly seen, which were the projects invested and built by the Anlos Family, Hogson Family, and Brady Company, respectively.

This is just the beginning, and in the future, the three projects will gradually expand in scale and speed up progress.

From the edge of the city to the distant mountains, a new city will rise within a few years.

By then, the view will be very different from now.

While Bai Xiaosheng was sketching grand visions in his mind, Lin Weiwei refilled his tea and reported, ”Xiaosheng, yesterday we lost another deal, at least several billion US dollars. This is the third one in two weeks!”

”It’s really tragic,” Lei Ying remarked as he shelled salted peanuts and lamented.

Bai Xiaosheng chuckled softly, pulling away from his thoughts.

The three deals were all sabotaged by the Caroline Family. It was Robert who provided the information to Caroline, who then meddled behind the scenes.

However, on the surface, there was no apparent connection to the Caroline Family. Bai Xiaosheng suffered an untraceable ”hidden loss.”

”Losing money is inevitable. You can’t catch the wolf without sacrificing the child; you must use big bait to catch big fish.” Bai Xiaosheng laughed, ”Robert should have almost gained the family’s trust by now.”

Lin Weiwei nodded, ”Indeed, there’s news that he’s a family celebrity now.”

”Then we’re almost there; let’s not ’offer’ any more,” Lei Ying said.

Bai Xiaosheng also nodded, ”Right, considering how well Caroline knows me, by now I should have been alarmed and on guard, and wouldn’t make those mistakes anymore. If we continued losing money, it would look suspicious.”

”Keep the information flowing,” Bai Xiaosheng said, ”Replace our employees with official personnel from Oshan, those with extensive experience, to avoid making mistakes again.”

Lin Weiwei immediately nodded, ”I’ll inform Chen Feiqiu to have Oshan allocate personnel to assist.”

Bai Xiaosheng nodded.

The stake on Robert had been placed, whether it wins or loses, requires time to confirm. Bai Xiaosheng wasn’t in a hurry, nor did he expect a sure win.

Sometimes, when playing against an expert, even if the moves are cleverly concealed, one must remain calm and composed, never relaxing until the very end.

Just wait for the blossoming results.

After discussing this, the three of them chatted about other things.

Bai Xiaosheng was on good terms with various Chinese families, the Greater China Region of Zhenbei Group, and all his private enterprises; even if each had very few issues requiring Bai Xiaosheng’s attention, cumulatively, they could be considered numerous.

Particularly since Bai Xiaosheng wanted to integrate various forces into a global business alliance, there were even more things to focus on and handle.

In the past week, Bai Xiaosheng and the three of them had been busy nonstop, hence today’s rare chance to relax.

While chatting, Bai Xiaosheng suddenly let out a light ”hmm” and laughed, ”Didn’t we come here just to relax? Why are we talking about work again?”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying both chuckled at his words.

”It’s really a habit formed by nature, adapted to the intensity of work, and even relaxation can’t escape work,” Lin Weiwei laughed, ”Who started it, should we punish ourselves by taking a sip of tea as if it’s wine?”

Lei Ying laughed, ”It’s unclear, I think we should all just take a sip each.”

”Good suggestion, sharing blessings and hardships,” Bai Xiaosheng joked.

The three laughed heartily, clinking their teacups as if they were glasses of wine.

However, just as Bai Xiaosheng brought his teacup to his lips, his phone rang before he could take a sip.

”Look, I want relaxation, but things seek me out instead,” Bai Xiaosheng sighed softly. On one hand drinking tea, on the other, he checked the caller ID, and was surprised, ”Anlos? Why is he personally calling me, is there something up?”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying also had curious glances.

Yesterday, Bai Xiaosheng had just had a conversation with Anlos and nothing seemed amiss, could it be an emergency?

”Hello, Mr. Anlos?” Bai Xiaosheng put down his teacup, smiling as he answered the call, ”You called me, what’s the matter?”

A moment later, Bai Xiaosheng’s eyes widened in surprise, ”Lorna, is it something related to her?”

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying exchanged startled glances upon hearing Bai Xiaosheng’s words.

Anlos personally calling, and it’s concerning Lorna?
