Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2679: Chapter 1924: Major News

Seeing that Lorna had been successfully rescued, Bai Xiaosheng turned around and expressed his thanks to Chief Hank beside him.

”Chief Bai Xiaosheng, saying that makes us sound like strangers!” Chief Hank beamed at Bai Xiaosheng. ”Being able to serve you is a great honor. In fact, I’ve also received an invitation to your coronation ceremony, and I heard that by then our Chief Ogade and Mr. Awak Wak Lakla will both be attending.”

Bai Xiaosheng smiled at that. ”Awak Wak Lakla is my friend. I’ll introduce him to you later.”

Chief Hank was instantly delighted when he heard this.

Mr. Awak Wak Lakla was Chief Ogade’s son, the unquestioned number-one candidate to become the future Supreme Chieftain!

Being able to get his face known there—how exciting a prospect was that! It meant massive political capital!

Chief Hank immediately started chatting happily with Bai Xiaosheng.

While the two of them were talking, Robert had already escorted Lorna over.

Seeing this, Bai Xiaosheng said to Chief Hank, ”Mr. Hank, I need to take them and leave first. As for what comes after...”

”Don’t worry, leave the aftermath to me!” Chief Hank patted his chest in assurance.

”I really must trouble you then. As for how this matter is handled in public, I’ll have to ask you to make some proper arrangements.” Bai Xiaosheng reminded him in particular.

”Understood, understood!” Chief Hank said with a laugh, over and over.

Chief Hank knew full well that Bai Xiaosheng definitely didn’t want to be dragged into any turmoil before his coronation, and would of course take care of things properly.

After thanking Chief Hank again, Bai Xiaosheng took Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying, and called for Robert and Lorna to leave with them.

Seeing that they were surrounded on all sides by armed police and armored vehicles, with at least four helicopters circling overhead on alert, Lorna’s eyes went blank in waves, as if in a dream, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

However, she still thought it was Robert who had pulled this off—after all, Robert came from a very large family.

Robert had driven here himself, and everyone had come in his car. Now that they were leaving, they got into his car again, with Lei Ying taking the wheel.

Just as Bai Xiaosheng and the others left, over there, the Honey Badger Gang’s boss and a bunch of lackeys were brought out, tightly bound, with at least two rings of special ops team members surrounding them.

Seeing the helicopters and armored vehicles outside, and the dense, uncountable sea of police, the Honey Badger Gang members couldn’t help shaking.

”What did we do?” someone asked in panic.

Judging from this lineup, they were afraid they’d poked a hole in the sky of Eisenlag. This was the kind of thing where you ended up rotting in prison.

And Oshan hadn’t abolished the death penalty.

A commotion this big would inevitably come with serious consequences...

Putting together the show of force before their eyes and their own wild imagination, they couldn’t help feeling their scalps go numb.

”They’re not planning to secretly take care of us right here, are they...” someone, teeth chattering, ventured a guess.

That thought was terrifying!

Fear spread in an instant, and that bunch ”boiled over.”

”No, don’t!” ”I’ll confess!” ”I’ll tell you everything!”

Someone even shouted, ”I want to inform! I can make meritorious contributions!”

The Honey Badger Gang boss, seeing his lackeys like this, flew into a rage on the spot. Struggling, he cursed, ”You spineless, disloyal pieces of trash!”

He had clearly forgotten his own prostrating surrender pose just now, when a gun barrel had been pressed against his head...

”If you’re willing to repent and want to atone for your crimes with merit, you scum might still be salvageable.”

A mocking voice drifted over.

Then Chief Hank walked over with a blank expression, gave that boss a cold glance, and said, ”Them, I’ll give a chance. As for you, your bones are really tough...”

The boss still wanted to put on a show in front of his lackeys, but then he heard Hank snort coldly and say, ”Drag him over and shoot him.”

”After all, during tonight’s raid we did encounter one suspect who put up stubborn resistance. We have to show some toughness, don’t we.”

Two members of the armed team immediately stepped forward, forced the Honey Badger Gang boss to his knees, and with a ”clack,” pulled the bolt on their guns.

The sound was small, but absolutely terrifying!

The boss’s soul almost left his body; whatever bravado he’d had flew straight out of him, and he shouted desperately, ”No, no! I’ll cooperate! I’ll confess!”

Chief Hank walked over with a smile and motioned for the two armed team members to step back.

Just now, he’d only been scaring this bastard. After all, they still needed their cooperation for the cleanup work.

”Behave yourself, and I can give you a chance to spend the rest of your life in prison. Otherwise, I can only send you to the Lord to confess over there. If possible, it’s better if a bastard like you doesn’t trouble the old man.”

Chief Hank patted the man on the shoulder.

The man nodded like a pecking chick, not daring to show the slightest temper.

”Pull out!” Chief Hank raised his hand in a wave and turned to leave.

With such a big operation, he had to go back and prepare early to deal with the media and questions from above.

At this moment, Bai Xiaosheng and the others were riding away, taking Lorna home first.

Lorna learned from Robert that it was Bai Xiaosheng who had mobilized such a huge operation to rescue her.

She was both shocked and grateful, thanking Bai Xiaosheng over and over.

Bai Xiaosheng also comforted Lorna a bit, telling her not to dwell on it.

Though Lorna was a female thief, she’d had a strong sense of love and hate since she was little. When someone did her a kindness, she wouldn’t forget it. Now that Bai Xiaosheng had said his piece, she no longer said more thanks out loud, and simply kept this favor silently in her heart.

Robert was also deeply grateful to Bai Xiaosheng over Lorna’s affair.

But he didn’t carry on and on either—that would have been too unmanly.

”Mr. Sheng, about the cooperation we discussed before, I’ll put it into action as soon as possible. In at most half a year, or as little as three months, I’ll definitely return to the family,” Robert vowed to Bai Xiaosheng.
