Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2681: Chapter 1924: Big News (Part 3)

Lin Weiwei shrugged her shoulders.

”The way things are escalating, it won’t calm down unless something even more explosive steals the spotlight,” Lin Weiwei said.

Beside her, Lei Ying chimed in with a smile, ”That won’t be long now.”

”What?” Lin Weiwei looked at him curiously and asked.

Lei Ying gestured towards Bai Xiaosheng with his mouth, ”Our Mr. Bai’s coronation ceremony.”

Lin Weiwei immediately clapped her fist into her palm, nodding with a smile, ”Yes, yes, and it’s only a few days away. Chief Ogade’s presence is quite a sensation.”

Bai Xiaosheng glanced at them, shook his head with a smile, and murmured, ”Me becoming a chieftain is just official news. Do you really think it can outdo entertainment gossip? You underestimate the public’s fondness for juicy news.”

Lei Ying couldn’t help but nod.

Lin Weiwei, however, wasn’t convinced and clamored to make a bet with Bai Xiaosheng on which event would have more impact.

Thus, a few days passed, and the ”illegitimate daughter scandal” of the Anlos Family did not diminish; instead, it intensified.

Meanwhile, Bai Xiaosheng’s coronation ceremony took place as scheduled.

On the day of the coronation, Chief Ogade personally attended, joined by business giants Hogson, Anlos, and Brady, making for a grand and lively scene.

Bai Xiaosheng donned a special outfit and was personally crowned by Chief Ogade, officially becoming a chieftain of Eisenlag.

Within Oshan and the West African business circles, business people and major families were all astir and interested in the news.

However, just as Bai Xiaosheng predicted, the news was only red-hot on that day before being overshadowed by the Anlos Family’s scandal.

The media always follows the public’s interest, preferring to amplify certain events.

Besides, there were other factors at play.

On Bai Xiaosheng’s coronation day, a media outlet directly asked Anlos if Lorna was truly his illegitimate daughter.

Anlos’s reaction was not intense but rather intriguing, which reignited the whole situation’s heat.

Overall, the buzz surrounding Anlos and Lorna lasted about two weeks before it gradually subsided.

And two weeks later, one day in North America, at Caroline’s family.

Robert came back.

When Robert stepped into the family’s ancient castle hall, a few of his cousins were walking out, chatting and laughing. Upon seeing him, they were visibly surprised.

”Well, well, who do we have here, Robert, weren’t you supposed to be in West Africa? What brings you back?” someone mocked Robert as they realized it was him.

Back then, due to Robert’s conduct, Caroline had proposed at the family meeting to send him off to West Africa.

This was known by everyone in the family and had become a laughingstock at the time.

Even Robert’s own sister, Caroline, treated him this way, so these cousins paid him even less respect.

”Exactly, it’s neither a special family day nor your allotted vacation, yet you return?”

”Miss Caroline won’t be pleased to know, I bet.”

”If she takes away your last bit of business authority, you’ll really be nothing.”

”Though, even now, you’re no match for us.”

They mocked Robert mercilessly.

It might be because Caroline was too domineering and unsympathetic usually, always exercising her authority as clan leader, leaving these people swallowing their grievances and unable to vent their long-standing resentment.

Although Robert was also not liked by Caroline, he was, after all, her full-blooded brother.

Thus, they found a kind of spiteful pleasure in humiliating Robert.

Robert glanced at them coldly and walked inside, saying, ”I don’t have time to talk with you, don’t delay me from seeing the clan leader and the elders.”

”I am here, after all, to bring the family great news!”
