Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2645: Chapter 1908: Showdown

Bai Xiaosheng had a brief phone conversation with Bai Xuanyu. At least they had some ”tacit understanding”, which was that neither wanted to prolong this bland dialogue.

After hanging up, Bai Xiaosheng stretched leisurely towards the sunrise.

Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying stood beside Bai Xiaosheng, one on each side.

”You weren’t actually waiting for this call from Bai Xuanyu, were you?” Lei Ying asked.

Lei Ying suspected Bai Xiaosheng was waiting for the acting chairman to call, to get a statement that would silence the group’s senior management.

Imagine if anyone has any complaints in the future, Bai Xiaosheng would directly bring out Bai Xuanyu: the acting chairman asked me to do only this, I am following orders, if you have any dissatisfaction, go find him, don’t bother me...

The more Lei Ying looked at Bai Xiaosheng, the more he felt that Bai Xiaosheng’s face clearly spelled out such a sentence.

”Indeed, without the leader speaking, things are hard to manage.” Bai Xiaosheng half-jokingly smiled at Lei Ying.

At these words, Lei Ying couldn’t help but laugh.

”I don’t know how good Mr. Bai Xuanyu is at management, but speaking of intellect and cunning, he certainly can’t measure up to you.” Lei Ying remarked.

Bai Xiaosheng gazed into the distance, muttering softly, ”Not necessarily! You’re underestimating him!”

Lei Ying was puzzled by Bai Xiaosheng’s words, and just as he was about to ask, Lin Weiwei spoke up, ”Focus on the present, Xiaosheng, should I go arrange a meeting with Brady?”

Lei Ying also turned to look at Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, turned away on his own, but his voice drifted back.

”No, wait for him to contact us.”

At the same time, Brady received a call from Bai Xuanyu.

On the call, Bai Xuanyu clearly stated that he had talked with Bai Xiaosheng, and Brady could proceed with negotiations and start the Oshan business plan.

Things finally became clear, and Brady couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

”Then I’ll wait for their call.” Brady said, feeling a bit balanced inside.

This time, Bai Xiaosheng would finally rush to contact him.

Should I ”miss” a couple of calls and leave him hanging a bit?

Brady even considered playing this game.

In his eyes, Bai Xiaosheng was just an executive CEO, at most also a second-in-command in the Supervision Department, significantly lower in rank than the acting chairman, so he had to obey orders.

Thus, when Bai Xuanyu stepped in, Bai Xiaosheng immediately complied, which was almost as he’d expected.

”You’re waiting for him to call you?” Bai Xuanyu scoffed lightly over the phone, ”Forget it, Brady, you reach out to him, otherwise you’ll be waiting aimlessly. That guy plots even when talking to me to gain the upper hand.”

Hearing Bai Xuanyu say this, Brady was stunned.

That Bai Xiaosheng was so brazen as to use tricks even with Bai Xuanyu?

”You put up with him?” Brady couldn’t help but ask.

He knew Bai Xuanyu’s temperament well, and it was unlike him to put up with such insolence, especially without reprimanding Bai Xiaosheng.

Was it because of Mr. Bai Zhenbei? Brady wondered.

After all, Bai Xiaosheng was Bai Zhenbei’s blood relative, so Bai Xuanyu made an exception?

Unwilling to think Bai Xuanyu would act like this, Brady nevertheless did think so but held back from pursuing the question further.

”In terms of ’reasoning’ and ’eloquence’, he indeed excels and even I have to give him some leeway.” Bai Xuanyu said calmly.

Listening to this, it seemed Bai Xuanyu actually admitted being less capable than others?

The more Brady listened, the more uneasy he felt.

But looking at it another way, Bai Xuanyu was such a straightforward person; it’s true, he wasn’t good at this.

Bai Xiaosheng’s glib, adept at sophistry image was deeply planted in Brady’s mind.

Consequently, Brady couldn’t help but mutter, ”Crafty Huaxia people!”

”Ahem.” Bai Xuanyu instantly coughed.

Brady realized and quickly said, ”I wasn’t talking about you.”

After all, Bai Xuanyu was of Huaxia descent, and such a curse included him.

Immediately, Brady considered it inappropriate since the old chairman himself was Huaxia!

Brady hastily added, ”I wasn’t referring to Mr. Bai Zhenbei either.”

Still feeling it wasn’t rigorous enough, Brady further clarified, ”Nor the colleagues from the group...”

”Alright, alright, Brady!”

Bai Xuanyu clearly didn’t want to hear more explanations, straightforwardly said, ”Anyway, I’ve arranged this matter for you, just call him and schedule the negotiation time and place. I believe he won’t make things difficult for you anymore.”

”Okay, I got it.” Brady agreed.

The two said their farewells and hung up.

Brady thought for a moment and directly dialed the Supreme Chieftain’s Residence.

”Oh, it’s Mr. Brady.”

The butler who answered the phone spoke warmly, and you could imagine the smile while talking.

Brady had called them twice within a week, so the butler was quite ”familiar” with him.

”You’re looking for Mr. Awak Wak Lakla and special business consultant Mr. Bai Xiaosheng? What a coincidence, both of them happen to be available today; yes, all day, but who knows if they’ll be busy tomorrow. Will you be coming over?”

The butler smiled while talking about such a ”coincidence,” seemingly so ”natural.”

”Of course, I’ll pay a visit, I’ll be there in two hours.” Brady said on the phone.

How come they happened to be free? If Bai Xuanyu hadn’t arranged with Bai Xiaosheng, they probably wouldn’t be available today either!

Thinking of it that way, Brady felt a bit aggrieved, and what made it worse was that he had to tolerate it.
