Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 2622: Chapter 1897: Lady Daliya’s Request

That night, after the banquet ended and the couple Chief Ogade was sent off, Bai Xiaosheng and the other two were led by Chen Feiqiu to tour the palace they were in.

This palace is more than just ”big”; the buildings combined are the size of three or four castles put together and are said to be several hundred years old.

Though they called it a tour, including the view from the balcony, they only saw a very small part.

Lin Weiwei couldn’t help but marvel; even if they don’t leave tomorrow, they might not be able to see everything.

”Then you should stay a while longer. I can show you around slowly,” Chen Feiqiu offered enthusiastically.

”I’m afraid that’s not possible; the trade delegation...” Lin Weiwei’s first reaction was that it wasn’t feasible.

Even though the Supreme Chieftain is hospitable, Bai Xiaosheng still has many matters to attend to with the trade delegation.

”Well then, let’s stay. We’ve been tired these days; we can take a rest.” Bai Xiaosheng stretched, surprisingly agreeing with Chen Feiqiu’s suggestion.

His answer took Chen Feiqiu and Lin Weiwei by surprise, and Lei Ying gave Bai Xiaosheng a meaningful look.

”I’m really delighted to hear that!” After a momentary pause, Chen Feiqiu was pleased.

After touring a corner of the palace, it was getting late, so Chen Feiqiu escorted Bai Xiaosheng and the other two to their rooms.

They were three adjacent rooms, all with the same layout.

The four randomly chose one to enter; the room was spacious and comfortable with large floor-to-ceiling windows.

Standing on the balcony, feeling the evening breeze while overlooking the city below, was indescribably pleasant.

”Alright, get some rest early; we’ll meet tomorrow.” Chen Feiqiu smiled and pointed to a place near the bed, ”If you need anything, there are buttons on the bedside table. Press one, and someone will be over; it’s available 24 hours.”

Bai Xiaosheng and the others nodded.

After settling them in, Chen Feiqiu left.

”You guys should go to your rooms and rest early too,” Bai Xiaosheng told Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying.

Seeing that Bai Xiaosheng didn’t need anything, the two naturally said goodnight and went to their respective rooms.

Once left alone, Bai Xiaosheng stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gazed at the sleepless city below, pondered for a moment, smiled, and then turned to wash up and rest.

The night passed without words.

The next day, Chen Feiqiu came to find Bai Xiaosheng and the others to take them to breakfast.

During breakfast, Asgar also joined them but soon left, seemingly not wanting to hinder Bai Xiaosheng and the others’ comfort.

In the morning, everyone toured and played around the palace, and at noon, enjoyed a sumptuous feast prepared by the palace’s chef, just the four of them without anyone else, completely at ease.

Lin Weiwei thought Bai Xiaosheng would probably say goodbye after lunch, and regretted not having had the chance to tour the palace’s back garden. However, Bai Xiaosheng seemed to have completely forgotten about leaving and didn’t mention it at all.

In response, Chen Feiqiu was quite pleased and actively arranged the afternoon’s ”program.”

Around three in the afternoon, Lady Daliya sent someone to invite them over, saying she wanted them to try wines brewed in the palace’s cellar.

Bai Xiaosheng and the other two, along with Chen Feiqiu, went over together.

Upon meeting Lady Daliya, she was very warm and welcoming to everyone.

After a round of wine tasting, Lady Daliya asked Chen Feiqiu to take Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying to the wine cellar, saying to select a few bottles of the wines Bai Xiaosheng had mentioned, to take back with them later.

Such kindness from the Chieftain’s wife was naturally accepted without refusal.

After Chen Feiqiu took Lin Weiwei and Lei Ying away, leaving no one else in the room, Lady Daliya suddenly put down her cup and stood up, first bowing to Bai Xiaosheng.

Bai Xiaosheng quickly got up to return the bow and smiled, saying, ”Madam, what are you doing? This I cannot accept.”

Lady Daliya smiled and said, ”I am thankful to Mr. Sheng for pointing out the Chieftain’s health concern yesterday. Last night, we had a medical team conduct an examination, and by noon, they had thoroughly investigated and concluded it was a growing mass, currently benign, yet if left unattended, would result in dire consequences. Even the medical officer said it was discovered just in time. Mr. Sheng, you could say you are the Chieftain’s benefactor, and you have saved my son Awak Wakalakla. My gratitude to you cannot be expressed in words! You deserve my thanks!”

So, it’s already been confirmed.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”Chief Ogade seems to have good fate, and I merely did my small part, your thanks I cannot accept.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s modesty made Lady Daliya look at him with admiration.

”No, you truly are our family’s benefactor,” Lady Daliya smiled, ”I don’t know how to thank you, Mr. Sheng, how would you like us to repay this favor?”

Lady Daliya’s expression and words were sincere and not at all pretentious.

However, her wording limited Bai Xiaosheng’s favor to the Chieftain’s household rather than Oshan.

To be able to be the Supreme Chieftain’s wife, she surely spoke and acted flawlessly!

Bai Xiaosheng replied with a smile, ”Really, no need for thanks. Madam, I am friends with Awak Wakalakla; to put it candidly, you and the Chieftain are like elders to me. This was just a small gesture on my part; expecting thanks is not how I conduct myself. Also, in Huaxia, we generally don’t have the attitude of expecting a return for every deed.”

Seeing Bai Xiaosheng insist on not needing thanks, Lady Daliya did not persist, merely smiled and said, ”Actually, I am here to express some gratitude; the Chieftain said he would thank you personally, so I won’t overstep. But as of now the Chieftain’s health is still inconvenient as he is recovering, Mr. Sheng, why don’t you stay a few more days.”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaosheng pondered briefly, and then smiled, saying, ”I personally would love to, but the trade group...”

”Regarding this, Mr. Sheng need not worry.”

Lady Daliya smiled, ”We have already spoken with Mr. Hou Yuncheng, saying we would keep you as a guest, and Mr. Hou Yuncheng said he would inform the high-levels of Huaxia. I believe that later on, Mr. Hou Yuncheng will contact you personally.”

Since they have even notified Hou Yuncheng, they are very determined to keep him as a guest; saying anything further would be inappropriate.

Bai Xiaosheng smiled and nodded, ”If that’s the case, then I will accept your hospitality.”

Lady Daliya seeing Bai Xiaosheng agree, also smiled contently.

Both sat back down.

Lady Daliya said with a smile, ”Actually, Mr. Sheng, I know quite a lot about you. Even before knowing you were Awak Wakalakla’s benefactor.”

”Oh, really.” Bai Xiaosheng smiled, ”It’s an honor to be noticed by Lady Daliya.”

Lady Daliya chuckled.

”Though the Chieftain Union of West Africa has conflicts among its member states, like between us and Karan, ultimately, we are allies, and some information can be shared.” Lady Daliya’s eyes shined brightly, ”Mr. Sheng, your dealings in the Aisha Emirate with the Yang Family Clan, and subsequently in Karan with the Karan business community, I’m roughly aware. The recent misunderstandings that occurred in Oshan, regarding your supporters, left a deep impression on me.”

Lady Daliya said these things with a smile, and her eyes shone with wisdom.

She was indeed extraordinary!

Bai Xiaosheng’s impression of this Chieftain’s wife deepen further.

”Mr. Sheng, you are indeed an outstanding leader chosen by Huaxia’s trade delegation. Despite being young, your courage, wisdom, strategy, and tactics are all exemplary!”

Lady Daliya’s evaluation of Bai Xiaosheng was evidently high, without deliberate exaggeration, spoken with an objective attitude.

”You flatter me!” Bai Xiaosheng said modestly.

Lady Daliya smiled, ”I’ve mentioned so much in fact for another purpose, or rather, a request, hoping you will agree.”

Bai Xiaosheng’s gaze turned curious.

Lady Daliya looked at Bai Xiaosheng with expectation, and slowly said, ”I hope Mr. Sheng can stay a few more days and serve as a temporary business consultant for Oshan.”

”Help us deal with Brady, Anlos and several business tycoons!”
